Hello! So I'm feeling very nervous. It's not the surgery itself that it's making me nervous.... I've had a few abdominal surgeries, including a 21 pound tumor removed. I'm just worried about the long term effects. I'm doing this to live a longer life. I'm so afraid I'm just rushing to the grave. I'm trying to think of it the same way as cancer.... I had surgery _ much more major than this _ to save my life from cancer.... so this should be nothing, right? My surgery is scheduled for 2/24 at a center of excellence in Springfield,il.

Hello! SD 2/24/14 HW 318 CW 289 Height 5'6 BMI 45 Goal 150 Central IL... I'm soooo nervous....

My surgery is still a month away and I've been freaking out every since I got my surgery date.... I've been through a few abdominal surgeries, so I kind of know what to expect as far as that goes... but... I'm so anxious about the whole stomach part! Thank you for your post... made me feel normal!

I've had esophageal spasms in the past... I'm pre op... but I wanted to reply because you are the only person I've heard of having those. Seriously one of the most painful events I've ever experienced and I have an incredibly high tolerance for pain. Your post gave me some more things to talk to my surgeon about.

Thank you so much... I'm so sorry this happened. Just heartbreaking. I certainly don't want to leave my little guy childless. Thank you for sharing your sister's story. I think I am going to rethink this surgery... maybe the risk isn't worth it.

I am also scheduled for Feb 24!. Very anxious.
