I really think it is normal for anyone to be scared - but really to be honest you do have nothing to be scared of it is a real simply operation - I was really scared myself before you know you wake up you are a little sore and think what was I worried about serious don't get yourself worked up as there is nothing to worry about all you are doing is getting yourself very upset just think positive and what you are going to achieve at the end I was lapband on the 15th Sept 2008 and then had to go for surgery for a replace port on the 2nd of Feb 2009 and it all went well believe in me there is nothing to worry about I hope I have given you some relief. Hello Vonkrum, When I was in my pre op diet I had for breakfast 2 eggs as the protien and sometime added some mushrooms if you like them say about half a cup - you can eat any most green vegs eg califlower, beans, brocile, Cabbage you are allowed two cups in total for lunch and dinner of them you are allowed lean mean 100grams, Fish and Chicken with the skin off 120gram or prawns unshelled 150grams, Tuna in spring water 120grams you can have that for lunch and dinner I had for lunch champion mushrooms 4 off them a couple of asparcus slice of cheese not processed I found cracker barrel was the best cucumber and only had the optifast if I was hungry as a snack and you will do well I did another thing I did cooked was a stuffed capscium coz you are not allowed alot of things in makes it hard to make anything to interesting I just fried up onion garlic italian herb tomato in the tin and mince and take put that all after it is cooked that put it in the empty capscium and fill the pot half way up the capscium and takes about 20 mins to 30min it is very nice and very filling I steamed my fish with my vegs as you can not have any bread crumbs please coz of you are not allowed any carbs if you want to know anymore and if I can help you please contact me again GOOD LUCK!!!! G'day Happy Lap Banders:thumbup: - I am interested to find out if anyone has had a fill and the doctor has put a hole in the line that goes from your port as I have had this done and just wanting to know if this happens often to other people or was I just unlucky :tongue: Does get fixed on the 2nd Feb 2009 - But had no liquid in my band 2 weeks before Christmas I have gained 3 -4 kgs grrrrrrr which I am annoyed with but I can eat like could before - Can wait for my port to be replaced on the 2nd Feb YAY!!
  4. Are you drinking plenty of water?? - Exercise is very important - Low Carbs. Good Luck!!

I think it all depends how much weight you have to lose also I am on the pre op optifast diet my surgery is on the 15th Sept but I have been on mine since the 22 August so up to today which is the 09th Sept I lost 12 kgs or 26.4lbs but my starting weight was 149.4kgs or 328.68 works different for everyone and depends if you are be active.   6. Oh My goodness if she was any sorta friend she would be accepting what you want it is not like you would not have done research and if she wants to be neg you don't need that kind of person in your life as a real friend would not do that to you.....
  7. I am getting my Lap band put in on 15th Sept 2008 and I have Hiatic Hernia and the doctor is going to fix the hernia while he is putting the lap band in.. Hope that helps... GOOD LUCK
