  1. I was sleeved July 30, 2013. I've also had a great experience. I have excellent support from my family and these boards are great, but it would be nice to actually talk to someone who has been there. How much is the personal trainer? I can pay as long as it's not too expensive :-) yes-does anyone know the average cost of a trainer?
  2. I would be interested. Where do you live? I'm in Burnsville.
  3. hi BladeFox-been a while. You will do just fine. How much do you want to lose? Do you go to the monthly support meetings at Fairview? They are very helpful too. There are people who are veterans and people still on the fence. Very interesting!!

  5. You can choose who you want. I didn't know much about any of them initially but I've heard nothing but good about all of them. The best thing I like about their program is that there is only 1day of prep work. So only a special diet for 24 hours prior. They do ask that you lose so much weight before surgery-mine was 10 lbs. That was requested by a PA. But when I finally got to meet the surgeon (which was around 8lbs lost) he had told me he would have only requested I lose 5lbs before surgery. I was told that they want to see if you will lose some on your own to show how serious you were about losing weight and so you get yourself in that mindframe of lifestyle changes. The surgeon did tell me that if I gained too much weight back by the date of the surgery he would have no reservations about canceling the surgery the day of surgery. So far I don't miss my old standbys but still struggle with taking too big of bites. Your body sure lets you know when that happens. I really like that I can have most anything but cannot eat it like it's thanksgiving dinner-love the restriction! Using a baby spoon has helped me a lot!! Keeps that bite in perspective.
  6. Oops-I see you haven't had it yet. Who are you consulting with?
  7. Dr Pierce - who was yours?

  15. That's fantastic!! Good for you! I was sleeved on 10/23 too. I only had to do 1 day of preop prep. I am down 11lbs. I ate all of my favorites and too much of it up until just past midnight of the day before surgery-too stuffed and I felt like I was saying goodbye to a best friend. Funny how the mind messes with ya. I felt that way when I quit smoking too. But what really ticked me off was letting these things rule my life. So glad to have this surgery and be able to grab the bull by the horns and have this tool to help me conquer this beast. Keep up with your posting, you are doing excellent!!!

  17. That actually has been done but it is mostly removed through the larger incision on the left side of your abdomen. 5 incisions for me, the other 4 were for cameras.
  18. . Did you change your diet or meds the 2nd week? I am 5 days out. No nausea....yet.....knock on wood
  19. You will do Great!! I am 5 days out about as happy as when my phone's on vibrate;)
