  1. Thanks for the update, I am glad that she is back to being sassy. Get some rest and take care of yourself, I know that the last fews days have taken a toll on you, your concern for your mom really shows in your post. (((Hugs))) Please tell mom that we are all still thinking of her and sending prayers her way. ~Mandy
  2. Penni, you and your mom are in my thoughts and prayers. ~Mandy
  3. The one thing I can't live without is a nice scarf to cover my nose and mouth when the wind is blowing. It really does help to keep you warmer all over. ~Mandy (the Chicago tattooed mommy)
  4. You can also have a list of surgeons emailed to you at www.inamed.com ~Mandy
  5. I don't think they can legally demand the product back. This company bought the band from a surgeon. (it is expired) Seems like it is legally theirs to own but not to sell, does that make any sense? I think they did all they could within their legal rights. Anyone know for sure? ~Mandy
  6. Actually Inamed sent them a letter demanding that the band be pulled from the auction site. There are regulations that go along with the sale of the LapBand in the states. I spoke with Don Mills and he said it would be taken care of, the next day the auction had been pulled. ~Mandy
  7. Delarla, you are not a day late you are right on time. I guess me and your hubby share the big day. Is he as weird as me? I am having a great day with my family. We went to lunch and I had broccoli soup. (I can't have solids right now) I actually managed a size 14 in regular Old Navy jeans today!! Woo Hoo!! Birthday NSV's are the best. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes! ~Mandy
  8. Feels great to finally be in bandland don't it? I am sooo happy for you. Walk, sip and take those pain meds and all will be right with the world. (at least in your drug induced mind  )
  9. It is sooo good to read a smile in your posts again. I am glad that everything is going so well for you and your son. Keep your chin up and keep smiling. ~Mandy P.S. is it just me or does a new tattoo make all the diff in the world?
  10. I lost 57 pounds in 6 months. I work out but not like I should. If I were at the gym 3 times per week it would have been more. ~Mandy
  11. I am not worried about my band at all, a band surgeon is doing the gall bladder removal. The nurse didn't say if they would remove my saline or not and I was in so much pain I forgot to ask. I will call on tuesday and ask but I wanted to get some imformation from you guys. Everytime I have asked a question I have recieved good response. Avoiding the greasy foods doesn't really help as it is not functioning at all, everything hurts. I can eat fried foods just as easy as plain mashed potatoes. Thanks for the info and support. ~Mandy
  12. That was the first available operating room. I am on the list if anything opens up sooner they will call me. There is also a ton of stuff going on next week with my daughter, so it actually worked better to have it on the 16th. Monday is my dd's MRI and she has to be sedated for that and then wed is my b-day. We have several doctor's appointments next week and some of them are really hard to change as they have been made for months. I am ok with the wait, I want to get all of my house work done and I have some stuff that I want to get listed on Ebay before I have surgery. I am also going to cook/prepare and freeze some meals so all my hubby has to do is reheat them. That is what I did for my banding and it worked really well. Thanks for the well wishes, Mandy
  13. My 4 year old daughter is on Zoloft and she has made great improvement. We know when she has missed a dose, she is a real bear to be around the next day. She takes a liquid form mixed with Orange Juice, 25mg a day. She was having panic attacks so bad that she would start to vomit and her whole body would tremble, those days are gone. She seems to be much more in control of her moods and she is even sleeping better now. I hope this helps you as much as it has helped her. BTW it took about 3 weeks to really see the difference, the doc said it could take upto a month. Here's hoping for the best~Mandy
  14. Here is a fainting goat video for ya' ~Mandy http://www.videotiger.com/goatsvideo.shtml
  15. I got a really cool 3 teir steamer for Christmas and I finally opened it and got it all set up. I made shrimp in it a few nights ago and they were great. I made some lemon and garlic butter for me and my DD and I made butter with red pepper flakes in it for hubby. I need some ideas for more stuff to make in it. I already know about veggies, but the book says you can do meats, fish, chicken and even meatballs in it. Anyone got any really good recipies? Or a link to a good steamer website? ~Mandy
  16. Hey Paul, do you know about fainting goats? When they are scared or nervous they tense up and fall over, it is a riot to watch. I will try to fint the exact name of them and see if I can find a video clip of them falling over, just a riot...~Mandy
  17. I have to have my gall bladder out. I am having pain with everything I eat. I had a HIDA scan and my gall bladder is almost not functioning at all. My surgery date is Feb. 16th. My follow-up care surgeon is doing the surgery. Should I expect him to empty my band prior to surgery? Anyone have their gall bladder out after banding? What was your experience? ~Mandy
  18. if this is the same as coochy shave cream that I have used before, it is also really good on burns. Just an FYI~Mandy
  19. Here is my list: lab-band shopping list heating pad flexible ice pack liquid tylenol (they make adult strength) chewable or liquid gas-x a few books or movies comfy clothes (loose waisted shorts or jumpers) squishy pillow for car ride (guard against seatbelt) a sports bra (doc said no underwire for a few days) protien shakes flavored water make sure you have a good blender I bought a drink mixer for the protien mix (cost $10 at walmart) broth or stuff to make broth sugarfree popsicles and jello sugar free gum (ask your doctor) sugar free breathmints (ask your doctor) *Ask at your pre-op for the pain med prescription so you can have it all ready to go when you get home, our walgreens has to order liquid pain meds and it takes 3 days to get them.
  20. I love degree, I buy the 4 and 6 packs at Sam's club. It is all I use. I requested a sample for men and women, they are great for the gym bag. And usually there are cupons with samples. ~Mandy
  21. I was told it was being pulled off the market all together. I took it for 2 weeks and had the same problem as everyone else. My doc said it was being pulled because some people were unable to regain bowel control even after stopping the meds. ~Mandy
  22. I was able to get on top fir the first time in a long time a few weeks ago. I have a bad knee and that and the extra weight has always been a problem. But I guess that problem is solved. ~Mandy
