  1. We went to our neighbors house last night and they made a paella dish; mix of all types of meats with rice; more like a seafood dish- I had already had dinner prior to going as I didn't know they'd be serving dinner; But it was so hard!! I didn't want to be rude and not eat this delicacy our friend took his time to make... So I ended up just eating and picking at all the meat on the plate- I had 4 chicken dumplings with 2 shrimp 1 oyster and was stuffed- Maybe I shouldn't feel so bad- I stuck with my Protein only but this was the first day I ate more than usual; How do you deal with these situations!? Any comforting words appreciated!
  2. Sleeved 8/26/13 HW: 234 Pre-op weight: 196 CW: 169 Goal weight: 140 In the pureed stage now; will be starting soft foods 10/10 and I can't wait!!!
  3. Sleeved 8/26/13 HW: 234 Pre-op weight: 196 CW: 169 Goal weight: 140 In the pureed stage now; will be starting soft foods 10/10 and I can't wait!!!
  4. The first two weeks felt like hell! I was soooooo regretting my decision!! Then; I started to feel a whole lot better my third week- it was like night and day! I am six weeks out now and in the pureed stage and feeling a WHOLE lot better! Sometimes I even forget I got sleeved- there's no way to prepare for this life- changing decision- I thought I was ready myself...and that first week I was crying and wondering why the hell did I do this to myself- now....I'm in a much better place...as will you In the meantime I really recommend holding a pillow to your belly when going to the bathroom; it's only for a couple of days- you will be surprised by how much better you feel in a couple of weeks!
  5. Yay!! So excited! I am officially out of the obese category an now in the overweight- my bmi is now at 29.9- sleeved aug. 26th!
  6. 2 weeks out- but my drive is nonexistent right now; I am too exhausted and weak to feel any desire right now...if I could sleep all day I would!!
  7. Totally normal! I was really swollen for about 1 1/2 weeks- Nothing fit AND i looked pregnant! Just walk...walk...walk!! Before you know it you'll be feeling a lot better day by day
  8. But do they see the group in your "likes" section?
  9. That's the very reason I haven't joined myself- i'm not ready for family/friends to know about my procedure- i'm thinking about opening up an entirely different facebook...
  10. I've lost 18 pounds since my surgery on 8/26; loosing slowly but surely-
  11. When I started this process back in May i was 229; pre-op weight was 197; current weight: 179
  12. And i'm in the pureed stage until oct. 10; I feel so good (with exception of the exhaustion) that it feels like I didn't even get sleeved- I am anxious to move on to soft foods...I have been battling hunger and cravings- and i'm losing weight slowly; not getting as much exercise as I should- but I feel so weak- day of surgery i weighed 197; at my check-up yesterday I was 179- i'd love to see 140 on the scale; anyone else sleeved the same day or close to it and want to share their experience?
  13. I couldn't fit into my clothes 2 weeks post-op; it felt very tight- I was swollen- so swollen it took about 4 weeks for it to go down...and when I finally did put on my Jeans they were falling off...your stomache went through lots of trauma; give it time to heal
  14. I originally thought I needed 1 week- but it was not going to happen!!! I ended up taking two weeks and when I went back to work last week i felt very tired and fatigued...feeling better now- make sure you don't rush your recovery; there's no medal given to those that go back to work right away! Give yourself enough time to recover; you'll be in pain; swollen; tired etc. don't rush it
  15. I see a whole lot of people saying they're not hungry- i am ????... And i feel very hungry sometimes- though i'm following all the doctor's orders I feel very hungry throughout the day
  16. I had very severe back pain myself for the first two weeks after surgery; partly was due to all the gas...the hospital bed...and the surgery itself- one day i forced myself to go outside for a 30-40 minute walk and...i felt sooooooo much better the next day- walked the next day and felt even better- have you tried getting some walking in?
  17. I am feeling really fatigued...tired, sleepy, loopy, a bit disoriented- anyone felt this?? I'm trying to get all my protein and liquids in though i don't meet my goals on a daily basis; It's very hard to be at work and come home to cook, clean, play with my girls etc. i almost had a breakdown today Any words of advice?
  18. There's a page on facebook- "High- Protein foods" and they have delicious looking recipes!! Can't wait to get out of thos pureed stage so I can try them!
  19. That patch was my saving grace! I was dying before that!
  20. I feel like taking a big bite out of a burger or something! I'm in the pureed stage but I feel like eating some real food- been doing applesauce; mashed potatoes, refried beand, greek yogurt etc. but i'm hungry!
