  1. Phew thanks for the feedback. The gain was quite alarming and counterintuitive. It feels like after burning a lot of calories, you should see a loss not gain.
  2. I'm up 4 pounds this week and I've been more active than ever, burning around 3500 cals on the 3 days I worked out. Because I weigh daily, I noticed a spike in my weight the day after an intense workout ( cardio+strength training). Is this normal?
  3. Have lost 2 pounds everyday for the past 3 days and seem to be on some sort of streak.
  4. I thought the surgery would be worse than it actually was. Recovered fairly quickly I thought the cravings would go away but it's still there. I tried some pizza & wings and it tasted good but i couldn't eat as much as i used...i'm talking about being full from 2 wings I thought the weight loss would be faster. The slow pace has been soo frustrating and i'm hoping the payoff is less loose skin/skin having time to bounce back What about you?
  5. Save for looking at the scale, when do you begin to notice you were no longer overweight/obese?
  6. I'm so thrilled! The scale finally moved this week and now i'm under 300 pounds. As someone who used to yoyo diet i'm confident that this is the last time i'll ever be this high. So happy and motivated!
  7. There some rules I've broken but I always wait 30 minutes after eating before drinking water. I literally check my watch when I stop chewing and calculate what time I can start drinking.
  8. Yup, I'm almost pushing 4 months and I can't tell you how many tantrums I've throw over stalling. I've already had 3 and it's like enough already, let's get this freaking show on the road. Seriously if it's going to be like this for the rest of the year I'm going to be pissed. I've only lost 20 pounds post surgery, it's like when is the weight loss going to kick in, I want this weight off me ASAP!!!!!
  9. Thanks guys, your posts have gotten me excited about the future!
  10. Protein drinks! Ever since I progressed back to regular food, I just don't want to drink it. Finding other ways to get protein in though.
  11. So we all harbor these fantasies about being happier, more confident, more social, sexier, stylish, successful, date more etc if we lost the weight. Well what happened after you lost the weight? Did things change for the better or worse?
  12. Right now, I'm so focused on my end goal thatI feel like I'm missing out on savoring the weight loss journey. I want to race to the finish, Like I just want to get to the end of the year so I'd have lost a bunch of weight. I'm obsessed with weighing myself and feel like hiding away until I'm slimmer. I don't think this is healthy and I need to make peace with how I currently look and get on with life and try to enjoy the present. Did anyone struggle with this?
  13. Lol this is my life story. Been overweight my whole life, always got the but you've got a pretty face BS. Also worried about how I'm going to look with the weight off. Hope I don't end up with a sunken face and oodles of loose skin. Who knows, getting my health back is top priority so let the chips fall where they may
  14. Holy cow you look great. Congrats on your success!
  15. Congrats the worst part is over and will start to get better as time passes and you begin to heal. It'll get better, just make sure you follow your dr's orders.
  16. I read this interesting story on the Huffington Post about a woman who experienced jealousy, lost friendships & had to deal with oodles of attention after losing weight. Check out the great article here: http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/4577625?utm_hp_ref=tw It got me thinking where there things you didn't expect to happen or threw you for a loop after you the weight? It could be positive or negative. Please share your story!
  17. Where and when you first notice/feel thinner? My ass feels deflated right now lol! I noticed this at about 2 months out.
  18. As we start dropping weight and changing sizes, how are folks planning to deal with constantly changing clothes and replacing them. I haven't shopped since surgery and waiting to lose a significant amount/clothes to start falling off me before I replace them. But honestly have no clue what to buy and how much. What are you doing?
  19. OMG I love you! Thanks for the tip, I'm going to try this
  20. Struggling with vitamins too and thinking of maybe switching to regular vitamins so I at least want to take it. The bariatric ones taste gross, chalky and take forever to dissolve. I've started dreading having these pills in my mouth for up to an hour before dissolving
  21. What it is about chicken particularly baked or rotisserie, it goes down so heavy and fills me up so fast. So uncomfortable!
  22. LOL does anyone get in the recommended amount. On a good day, I can get in 4-5 cups but honestly our stomachs are just smaller, not to mention drinking can sometimes hurt. I'm guessing this will become easier the further we progress though.
  23. Leaving food on the plate!!!! My mom gave me hell about this growing up as such I became a member of the clean your plate club. Now even though I'm full, sometimes I want to keep going
  24. Have always been the biggest gal out of my friends and it's always bugged me. I didn't tell a soul about the surgery and now I wondering how my relationships are going to change once I start to look different. People are already commenting on how little I eat and I've been avoiding activities that are centered around food saying I'm trying to focus on getting fit which is true. I read so many stories about people losing friends and it baffles me but then I realize that each one of us has a role we play in relationships and unknown to us we might be the one that makes our friends feel comfortable or sadly superior because we're non threatening. So I wonder for both guys and girls how did you friendships change as you lost weight. For the better or worse?
  25. Hear me out though. I've been obese my whole life and when I finally started the VSG journey it opened my eyes to how unhealthy my lifestyle was and how overweight I was so decided to do something about it. Now that I've had the surgery, I cannot stop weighing myself and obsessing about my appearance. I'm so excited at the prospect of being thin that I cannot wait anymore. I feel embarrassed walking around at this weight. Also feel impatient and want to hide away until I lose a considerable amount of weight. Of course I've been telling myself I'd be a sack of skin if this happened so be patient but it's so hard. I'm so ready to see what the new me is going to look like.
