  1. Finally!!! I lost 4 pounds last week of the weight I had regained! I am now back on the right track and it could not have come at a better time. To see the scale go DOWN the week of Thanksgiving gives me even more motivation NOT to overeat this Thanksgiving! I always tend to gain weight at this time of the year, and trying not to do so is hard. If I can just lose 17 pounds I will be below 200 pounds!!!
  2. I stepped on the scale this morning and I have lost 4 of the pounds I gained! This is a step in the right direction and I can't wait to see it go down even more! This is just what I needed Thanksgiving week!!!
  3. I like the idea of maintaining. I KNOW that all of the holiday commercials make it even harder and then all of the weightloss commercials come out in Jan and it gets easier again! UGH!!!
  4. Thank you! I agree, this cold weather always makes me want to eat more, and I am not as active. I should be able to get my referral for my insurance renewed this week so I can go back in and get another fill. I am a LOT lighter than I was last year at this time, so I am just going to try and focus on my success and get back on track!
  5. I've only had 2 fills so far. The first was 3 cc and the second one was 1.5 ccs. Well I feel no restriction at all, and I've been really bad about getting my referral updated so I can go back in to see Dr. Steely. Well my hunger and all of these darn holiday foods coming out has gotten the best of me and I have put back on 5 pounds. I've actually been avoiding the scales and avoiding coming here, because I am discouraged. I wanted to be below 200 by the new year. I know there is still time, but holiday food is my weakness.
  6. I have had a really hard time these past few weeks with munching a little more than I should, and I had gained 3 pounds. Well I just faced the facts and stepped on the scale and I lost one of those pounds! I have had to worst PMS cravings and yesterday I gave in to chocolate. I felt so guilty afterwards because it was not just a little bit, it was waaaaayyyy too much! I am ready to get back into the Drs office and get another fill. I've had 2 so far, and the last one was only a little amount. My hunger is getting the best of me! I was just so thankful to see that the scale had not gone up even more! Time to get back on track!!!

  8. Any single bandsters in TN?
  9. Today marks the one week mark since I started having port pain. I went into the Dr last week (Mon) and he said that I probably pulled the muscle it is stitched in to. Well it still hurts to bend over or be too active and it is burning, stabbing pain. I'm going to go back in tomorrow morning. What do they do if you do "pop a stitch"? Does this mean I will have to have surgery to fix it?
  10. It's when I look at photos of what I looked like in Dec, that the "Wow" factor hits me! I am 45 pounds lighter than I was at this time last year, and I just got some new pants today in a size 18 and they were TOO BIG!!! OMG!!! Do you know how long it has been since I was in a size 18, and now some size 16's are starting to fit me. I started out at a size 22. It's pretty emotional to think about and this is just the beginning! I am in total amazement. There are times where I don't feel like I am losing any weight, but my clothes are getting loose on me and I look in the mirror and can see this smaller person starting to emerge. My diet no longer consists of fast food and sweets and junk food. I will have desert every once in a while, but it's not an everyday thing, like it was a year ago. Even my kids are eating better. My 15 year old daughter has lost about 15 pounds and she is now in a size 10. This surgery has not only changed my life, but is changing my whole family and everyone is getting healthy. It brings tears to my eyes to think about it. Life is good!

  12. I remember when my cycle used to come every 35 days! Now it's every 26-28 days!!! Since I am done having kids, and have had a tubal, I could really live without the monthly hassle!
  13. I had gas pains that were bad last night too!!! That's ok, I'll take this since I'm getting smaller!
  14. I woke up this morning with the worst cramps I've had since a teenager, and I even have cramps in my back!!! HOLY COW!!! Did anyone else experience bad cycles after having lost some weight?
  15. I pulled something this weekend near my port area and it still hurts like heck! The Dr looked at it yesterday and said I probably pulled that muscle, but man, when is this pain going to go away. I can't bend over or any kind of activity that requires a lot of movement!
  16. I am currently separated from my husband after living with years of his abuse and his drug addiction. He asked another woman to marry him while we were still together, it just goes on and on. Anyway, now that I want a divorce and we have been separated for almost a year and I've started losing weight, now HE decides that he wants to make it work and that he still wants to be married. I bet! I look and feel the best I have in years! Too bad he was such a jerk during our marriage!
  17. I had to go in to the Drs office today because I was really active this weekend and basically hurt by port area. While I waiting to be seen there was a lady in the Drs office who had had gastric bypass surgery and she had gone from 228 to 123 pounds in 14 months. She was having problems not being able to eat enough, and was losing too much weight. She said if she had to do it all over again, she wouldn't have. That's scary stuff! I know that there is a risk in any surgery, but that just made me thankful I went with the lapband and not the gastric bypass.
  18. I agree 100%! We didn't put this weight on overnight and it will not come off overnight. I got a fill today, but only a small one because I've lost 8 pounds since my last appt, last month and he didn't want me losing too fast. I am fine with this. This is the way it is supposed to go.
  19. Bread is the worst!!! I love it, but try to stay away, because it hurts when it gets stuck. I think cutting bread out of my diet has been a Godsend for me. Helps that weight come off!
  20. Well I called this morning and ended up going into my Drs office to be seen. He thought that maybe I hit the area and pulled the muscle that the port is sewn into. I'm glad that it was ok and I was also able to get my fill today instead of on Fri.
  21. I am so glad you posted this. I woke up this morning and am still having serious pain. I think I am going to call my Dr this morning.
  22. I have switched to decaf and now that I am used to it, it is not bad. I also feel better without all of the extra caffeine. I've even made the switch to sugar free creamer.
  23. I was banded on July 8 and today was the first time I have experienced port pain. It's almost a burning pain. I don't know if I moved the wrong way and hurt it or not.
  24. I've been trying not to step on the scale too much, because it can be hard to see the numbers not go down as fast as you would like them to, but I stepped on there this morning and the scale read 215!!! I cannot believe I am only 15 pounds away from being 200 pounds again! And the best thing of all is that I tried on a size 18 the other night and it fit! I have not worn a size 18 in YEARS!!! My biggest struggle I have found so far is that I still like to drink when I eat. I think that is slowing down my weight loss. Last night I didn't have a drink in front of me and I ate dinner, and guess what? I felt full a LOT longer! So I am going to try and obey the rules, and stick with not drinking when I eat. The other thing that I think has helped my weight loss in the past few weeks is eating mixed nuts when I get hungry. They are high in protein and they help me feel full in between meals.
