I'm going to Mexico on Thursday and getting sleved on friday, yes the 13th and i started getting sick yesterday. Seriously...WTH!! I havent been sick in over a year...why the hell now. On an amazing note, I've been doing my pre-op diet for a week now and I'm down 13 pounds. Really hoping to start feeling better before I get to Mexico.

I will be in the hospital the 13th and 14th than back to the Marriott for 2 days. flying back home to St Louis on the 17th.

Sherry my surgery is scheduled for 9-13, yes in 5 days at Florence Hospital. Did you have a good experience there?

Same thing here. My insurance will not cover anything weight loss related. I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, anxiety, sleep apnea and degenerative disk disease and asthma. They pay for all the medications and all the surgeriies I've had due to being morbidly obese but they won't pay to help fix the cause of the problem. I researched surery in Mexico and that is the route I have decided to go. Surgery is 9/13 and I am so ready to be healthy.

I am having my sleeve surgery on 9/13. Yes....less than 2 weeks away. I went to my pcp last Friday and told him I was going to Mexico for my surgery and he was very happy for me. He gave me orders for blood work to be done as soon as I get home and told me to let him know if I need anything. You really need to find another pcp. They should be supportive of your decision.

Congrats and best of luck to you on your surgery. I will be sleeved in TJ on 9/13. On the pre-op diet now for 4 days and down 6 lbs. Keep us posted on your surgery ok.

I was born in NJ also. I lived in North Bergen until I was 12 and then my fathers company transferred him to Missouri. I still have relatives in Dumont.

That is so funny. I almost booked a flight on 9-11 and didnt want to fly that day. Instead I booked to fly to San Diego on the 12th and having the surgery on Friday the 13th. I'm not to sure which is worse? Best of luck to you. We are gonna do great.

I'm a complete idiot. I told my younger sister (40 yrs old) that I am having it done and because I'm going to Mexico she had a fit. I wish I had just kept my mouth shut and left in 10 days without saying a word to anyone other than my adult son. So later today I will be at a family bbq and will have to tell my father and older sister (she is a nurse) because if I don't the younger sister will. Not that any of them will change my mind but I really dont want to hear it. I spoke to my pcp on friday and he is on board with me going to Mexico. Very supportive. In fact he told me to stay away from anyone that was negative about my decision and to do what I knew was best for me. So that is eactly what I'm going to do. If the older sister and dad have a problem with it I will go home and call them when I get home on the 17th. As far as friends and co-workers go...I've told several and most have been supportive. All are scared that I have chose to go alone but that is exactly how I want it.

I just booked my flight today. Surgery on 9-13 with Dr Garcia. Getting so excited.

I changed my date to Sept 13. Leaving in 2 weeks from today. So excited to finally be doing it.

That would be great. I think I'm more scared of being by myself right now In Mexico than I am of having the surgery. So having people to hang out with will be great. Thank you so much.

Hi. I am self pay too and going to Mexico from STL on Sept 25th. When is your surgery date?

I live in St Charles, MO and I am going to Mexico for my sleeve because I am a self pay. I have great insurance but it doesn't cover anything weight related. I am so excited for this new journey to begin.
