    Protein Shots for Hair?

What protein shots are you taking? And where do you get the maxi vitamins?
  2. I'm sorry to hear that. I was 6 weeks out on Wednesday, down 33 pounds---which is 10% of my body weight---, and was feeling great. I was honestly thinking I was not going to go through any sort of depression which is quite common after this surgery. Then I've had the week from hell. When it rains it pours and today I'm feeling pretty pathetic. This is the lowest I've ever felt. I've slept all day. I called my family dr and she did some lab work. I'm dehydrated. Told me to drink 24 bottles of water this weekend and come in on Monday for fluids. So I'm sure that has something to do with it. But also, I've read on here that lots of hormones are released from your fat cells when you're losing weight so maybe that's part of it. At any rate, even though I know it's part of the process, it sure isn't making me feel any better today. I hope you feel better ASAP; it really is a whole new life!!

    Soft food

I've been eating watermelon since day 3. Chew chew chew. Can't eat a lot of it as it feels me up fast but I was staying hydrated!!! That and sf Popsicles kept me alive, lol. I'm 5 weeks out and struggling to get in 64 oz of water.....but watermelon sure sounds good. Ha!!!

    Atkins diet

I've never been told no carbs or to even watch carbs. I was given two rules; 70 gr of protein and 64 oz of water which I'm still struggling to do. I guess they figure if we are following the rules there's no room for much else, lol.

    felt funny

I get it plain and just take it off the bun and eat. No mayo. No nothing.

    felt funny

Wendy's grilled chicken sandwich (-the bread) and chili are keeping me alive. The chicken has 35 gr protein and the chili is about 20 with cheese. Obviously, I don't eat it all at once. It's an all day situation, lol. From lunch on. But, I'm getting much more protein now that I can eat real food. Water is my new issue. I'm getting about 30 oz, so half of what I'm supposed to get. It kills me to wait 30 min after I eat to drink. As of last Monday I was down 28 pounds in 3 1/2 weeks. I'll weigh again tomorrow. I started at 335 so I cannot wait to get under 300!
  7. For "real" food!!! I just had my follow up appt with my surgeon today. Down 25 pounds in 20 days. I told him my only real issue was getting in both the protein AND the water. I can do one or the other, no problem, but both are almost impossible at this point. He said staying hydrated was priority and in ONE WEEK when I start eating solids, the protein should take care of itself. I have spent all evening googling protein amounts in chicken and steak and all the foods I can't wait to grill and eat! I've also researched all the fast food restaurants we eat at so I know my options there. We are extremely busy with three kids in lots of activities so we do eat out a lot. Doesn't look like that should be a problem as long as I make the right choices. Have you ever been so excited about protein?!?!?!

    August Sleevers?

I was sleeved on the 14. I was down 20 pounds after 12 days but haven't weighed since. I see the surgeon tomorrow. I came home with a drain but they took it out after 7 days. No big deal. I went back to work after 4 days but I do find I need an afternoon nap occasionally. I'm on phase 3 of my dr's plan which is soft food. I struggle to get in my 70 grams of protein. I feel like I'm constantly shoving food down my throat to get the protein in!! It's hard! But I suspect that once I start eating solids, it will be easier. At least, I'm seriously hoping. Anyway, I haven't had any issues. I feel better than I did before surgery, plenty of energy, no more grouchy than usual, lol. Already down one size. hope it's always this good!!!!!
  9. I was sleeved on the 14; home on the 15. I feel like I'm doing excellent. In fact, I am a teacher and was sleeved on a wed and back to work on Monday. I've had no gas, no irritation, no issues whatsoever except finding some shake I can manage to survive on until two more weeks pass. I can drink water like no other. I haven't weighed yet; waiting until I go to the dr on the 3, but I can tell a huge difference all over my body. My face, my stomach, my thighs, my feet! My shoes are too big now; I literally walked out of them the other day. My little incisions are healing up nicely but starting to itch so I just rub them. Usually helps. Really, no issues except for the protein. I went to gnc yesterday and bought a couple if things that I'll try today. My family doc is going to bring me some kind of shake that she drinks and see if I can handle that. It seems like I can smell the protein powder in everything!!!!! Makes me gag and I can't even get it down. I like the Greek yogurt but can't eat a whole thing at once. I never feel hungry---have to remind myself to eat. It doesn't bother me to watch others eat, no matter what it is. So, overall I'm very pleased. At 12 days out. I feel like if I can just make it two more weeks then I'll be able to eat my protein and life will be good. I guess then it will be filling up on protein first just to make sure I get enough in, but I can live with that. Good luck to all of you!!!! I wish you the very best!!!!!
  10. Hi! I'm new. Sleeved on August 14 and the absolute only issue is getting in the protein. So, I did some (a very small) amount of research (meaning, I found out it existed) and found out there are protein pills and chewables!! They are fairly inexpensive. Someone, anyone!!!, have any experience of these or knowledge as to why I should continue to struggle down protein shakes instead?? Obviously, I will consult my surgeon, but not today! It's a Friday night. And he's on vacation. He's probably lying on a tropical beach eating protein!!! Anyway, there has never been any mention of these little jewels so I'm wondering if they're too good to be true....

    Protein Pills and chewables

Oh, I do not want anything to stimulate my appetite!!! Lol. I've tried Visalus which isn't bad but doesn't have enough protein in each one to warrant me drinking them. I have to drink 6 to get enough. I've also tried the whey powder from walmart. Need I say more? I just today tried the unjury unflavored with no success. Tomorrow, I'm headed in search of isopure. Someone said the unjury flavored wasn't bad. Where do you get the premiere chocolate? I'll be on the lookout for that, too. I live in a very small town so unless walmart has it in stock, it's an hour drive to find something. That's why I hope I find something I can do quickly!!! Thanks for your response. I really figured it was too good to be true; otherwise why would there be shakes???
