    PROGRAM FEES

The center I am at used to charge a $2500 program fee. When my surgeon took over the center he said he would only do it if there was no program fee charged to patients. So he took over and there is no fee. My center is a blue distinction center through Anthem and I have a very, very experienced surgeon.
  2. Here is a poem I wrote. I am sure we can all relate to it. Hope you enjoy it! The Little Things To cross my legs so comfortably Or say “Oh yes, a booth please” To tuck in my shirt To wear a belt It’s the little things indeed To walk up steps or maybe run And still be able to breathe To shop in any store I want It’s the little things indeed To finally come from behind the camera And take a picture of me To look in the mirror and love what I see It’s the little things indeed To get on the scale and finally see That place I have been longing to be Onederland, what a beautiful place It’s the little things indeed And finally you see it, that 4 letter word GOAL, can it really be You did it, you did it, You fought hard to break free This is your Victory!
  3. They called and said they verified my insurance. I am meeting with the insurance coordinator tomorrow and then schedule my NUT and Psych apps. Looking forward to starting this journey!
  4. Thanks. I am thinking probably January. My doc has a minimum of 4 months education.
  5. I am only in the beginning stages but mine will be Unwritten. "Today is where my book begins the ret is still unwritten"
  6. I had my seminar last night and my surgeon said he does not require a pre-op diet unless your current weight is very high and would complicate surgery. I see most people on here have to do it and I was just wondering if anyone else does not have to.
  7. My surgeon has done over 3500 bariatric procedures all over the world. He said last night that other bariatric surgeons send him the more riskier patients.
  8. I had my seminar tonight and I love the surgeon and his entire practice! He thoroughly explained everything and was very real and truthful. He went over all 3 procedures but basically said he will probably not be doing anymore lap band surgeries come next year. He actually sees that entire procedure fading out soon. I asked about a pre op diet and he said he really doesn't require one or require his patients to lose a certain amount of weight prior to surgery. Unless however they are super obese and surgery soul be too risky at their current weight. I turned in my paperwork and they said I should receive a call in a week or so after they contact my insurance. I am looking forward to starting this next chapter in my life!

    Sleep Apnea

Hi I am in the research stage. I attend my seminar on 9/4. I was wondering for those of you with sleep apnea did it go away after your surgery? If so how long before you were able to get rid of your Cpap? Thanks Terri
  10. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with Dr. Sonnanstine in Columbus OH?
  11. That is not too bad. I am hoping to just take my two weeks vacation and not have to use disability. I have a sedentary job. How much have you lost? I have about 130 to lose. I am almost 49 and have tried every diet out there. I lose and gain the same 20 pounds. I am also beginning menopause.
  12. Hi, I am soon to be 49 and am starting the VGS process. I have my seminar on 9/4. I have about 125 pounds to lose. My question is with exercise, is possible for our body's to get in shape at this age? I am also beginning menopause. I have a brand new gym at work that is free so I have everything at my disposal to get in shape. Any insight would be appreciated. Terri
  13. That is great to hear. How long were you in the hospital and how was your recovery?

    Sleep Apnea

Thank you for the info. I can't wait to not have to sleep with a c-pap any longer.
  15. Hello I am going to the seminar on 9/4 but I am 95% sure I am going to have the sleeve procedure. I have a BMI of 44 and Obstructive sleep Apnea. My question is since I have already been diagnosed with OSA, will I have to go through another Sleep Study. I have Anthem BC/BS. I have also been on WW for the past 2 years and have all my weight trackers to show that I have. Been on a roller coaster ride with my weight. I am hoping I do not have to go through extensive NUT counseling since I have been doing this. I am reading inspiring stories here and I am looking forward to the possibilities Terri
