  2. i was sleeved end of August and finally under 200 (199). I started out at 226 and lost 24 pounds the first three months...since then its been 3! I had a foot injury in November that blindsided me to the chair for 6 weeks and only just now able to get back to walking so I am hoping that the loss will pick up a bit. I am just ELATED that I lost that much! I no longer have diabetes, I am off BP meds and i FEEL so much more alive at 50! So long as the scale does not go up more than 2 lbs (I fight the fluctuations) I know I am good. I too lose nothing for weeks then BAM off comes 5 or 6 pounds followed by another bout with the body not wanting to give up any hard won fat!....Yep its me vs the body and my mind will win out eventually *lol*.I also look at it this way if we ever have another ice age I have a bit of extra to keep me warm *l*. Keep going, it doesnt get easier but it gets done

  4. I felt hungry, after the test to make sure there were no leaks a few sips of Soup and apple sauce and i was happy. I too didn't need any pain meds (used gasx for 3 days though - THAT was not a joyful feeling *l*). I am 30 days out now (down about 24 pounds). I "nibble" throughout the day - I only want a few bites or rather NEED only a few bites.I am back to eating normal foods but finding as time goes on I just eat because i have a knawing in my stomach and I walk 1 hr - 2 hrs a day on my treadmill (i break it up into 3-4 sessions). I juice 2x a day and it takes me all day to finish off 2 glasses. I did have "head" hunger the first week while on Clear liquids. I was drinking a cup of broth every hour it seemed. I don't like processed foods so I did without the Jello and Protein shakes. But I am doing well on vegetarian fare. Since I can eat Beans now and I do the green smoothies and juices I feel much better. Good Journey! Dominga
  5. Start Weight (8/13) - 232 Surgery weight (8/23) - 226 2 week check up (9/4) - 212 Todays weight (9/10) - 213 I know I will fluctuate weight so I a just increasing exercise intensity.
  6. Wow am glad I came across this thread! I started eating some creamed chicken corn chowder soup (progresso) and creamed broccli soup and regained 2 pounds. So I have increased the exercise intensity (gone from walking from 2.5 to 3.0 and alternating for 30 minutes) I am surprised how much I can actually eat - 1/4 cup at a time. But knowing that this is expected helps me to get over those 2 pounds *lol*. I have lost a total of 13-14 pounds in less than 20 days so I shouldn't be too upset! I will be happy with 1 pound a week! Every little pound helps I notice though I am more determined in working out going from 1.5 hour hours of walking a day to 2 hours now. I just break it up into 20 or 30 minute sessions on the treadmill until I can start more intense exercise. I feel great though, high energy - i think green juicing helps there.

  9. thank you! It's time for mickeys not so scarey halloween again *lol* the perks of living in florida! I feel fortunate that I am feeling so ok. It's day 2 have had beef and chicken broth on the second glass of water. I am fortunate to feel so good as I have read about some who have suffered the first few days. I will remember to remove the froth.
  10. Went in Friday the 23rd - home Saturday! No problems, just feel a bit icky, gassy (gas x is helping!). Just walking around the house for now (its 3 am). My granddaughter (5) has been so helpful! *lol* She gives me pillows, tells me to walk etc. She wants me in great shape for Disney! I look forward to using the nutribullet. Anyone else use nutribullet for shakes?
  11. Well here goes...I was supposed to do this on 8/30 but the surgery got moved up so wow good! I am 5'1.5" and currently weigh 232 (at doc's office last week). Have been on Optifast for 7 days and I don't want to step on the scale til preop on Wednesday. Whoever made this stuff should be forced to drink it for life *lol*. Amazing that the first 3 ingredients after Water are all sugars. O well I did not die from 7 days of optifast. When I finally decided to just risk it for the biscuit so to speak was when I realized that no matter what I did my morning blood sugars were not going down and I DON'T want to be on meds for the rest of my life. I am 50 yrs old and raising my 5 yr old granddaughter. I need to be around for her for a long time. I had been looking at wls for over 6 years, but could not bring myself to band - I would feel like a beach ball with air coming in and going out! When I finally decided to do this in May I just sucked it up and decided the sleeve was what I needed. I don't want to be able to overeat. Tonight I amazed the husband by going to Boston Market and not eating. He was shocked. But I am mentally preparing myself, I wish I could do this and not have surgery but I know that at some point I will over eat again, and I know that I lose weight at 1200-1300 cals (I experimented a few months and found that at 1400 kals i GAIN weight - no matter how much I walk or run). I did not win the genetic lottery ..so this is my do - over - everyone should get at least one do-over in life! I am looking forward to drinking my homemade vege juices again. Right now I am happy, nervous, and scared. Most of all I am ready to plunge, even after viewing the video of an actual gastric sleeve *s*. Thank you for listening!
