Quest bars are the BEST! The Vitamin Shoppe and GNC carry them in my area. The stats are amazing! I have tried almost all of the flavors and have settled in on a few favorites. If you Like them on Facebook they will let you know when they have a sale. Well worth it because they can be spendy. The sale during the holidays offered 20 or 25% off plus free shipping. I ordered 4 boxes of 12. 20 grams of protein per bar for about 160-200 calories . Very filling. Usually just do a half bar at a time.
More of a foodie now than before surgery, but in a really good way. Always scoping out recipes that are high in protein and low in carbs that also incorporate healthy fats. Don't worry too much about the calorie counts anymore because how small my portions are. I savor every bite! I do also track my food on my fitness pal and find that I stay within my calorie goal most of the time.
I had horrible nausea for about 2 days post VSG. So bad I couldn't think of moving or even lifting my head off the pillow. None of the meds helped. By day three I was fine. Now the only time I experience nausea is if I have eaten something too rich or perhaps eaten too quickly. Otherwise I feel the best I have ever felt in my life! I would do it all over again, nausea and all!
