  1. Went back to work today to all the questions and rumors. First I was a little upset that a lot of people think it's okay to ask you how much weight you've lost. I really feel like that's no ones business- I don't know if I'm wrong or not. Then found out that somehow some people around the hospital thought I was out to get a tummy tuck (do they even do tummy tucks on thick girls?) and then another group of people heard I was pregnant! What the hell?!? The rumor mill in hospitals is so funny. Then comes lunch time and I up chucked my lunch! I was so upset. I think I got too hot in the breakroom. I purposely took all the foods I've eaten already so I wouldn't have problems. Oh well. But I made it through!
  2. I was meaning during the liquid part before you get to eat. It gets so annoying drinking only and not chewing anything. I will not last long though thankfully. Totally doable though!!! I'm so glad everything went well for you. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}
  3. Yay Karliy!!!!! Cool!! 8) Sooooo happy for you!!!! How was everything in the Batcave? I was meaning to ask you guys if they have wifi now. You are super lucky not to have that chest/gas pain. I still feel pressure sometimes even now! Congratulations {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}
  4. So jealous. I'm not allowed to weight train per my postop instructions until 6 months out! Only walking 60-90 minutes every day and add abdominal exercises at 2 months. It seems like a long time to wait to lift weights right? {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}
  5. That's great! I wanted to ask you Ringo... now that everything is over, how are you feeling about your decision? {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}
  6. Glad you made it safely. Well wishes to you for tomorrow! {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}
  7. I just had surgery so it wont be until well into May or June next year. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}
  8. That's funny you mention that because when I go for the EGD I was thinking I might just drive myself there and let the Marriott take me to and from the OCC, however they drive so crazy in Mexico. The marriott is super close to the border though, it's almost easier to drive there than do the whole border crossing thing. I was thinking about scheduling mine around my friends lap band fill and follow her in. She and her boyfriend drive back and forth all the time for lap band fills and to visit. Then I was thinking I could follow an OCC van back the other way {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}
  9. I confess that I want to go back also because I want to go to the Marriott because some of the foods at the buffet looked soooo good. Even if it is just a teaspoon of some of the items. Speaking of confessions, I started using a straw a few days ago. I haven't exploded yet. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}
  10. Is anyone going to go back to the OCC for the follow up EGD or when do you plan on having it? I want to have it there because I have a ridiculous copay (800) for it here and I also don't want anyone messing up my new tummy. How does that part work? {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}
  11. The Batcave is well equipped with all the fancy gadgets and gizmos. No need to pack anything of that nature. They do have magic glue! They use that for your other incisions though. I was expecting to have a huge mark where the JP site was when the steri-strips fell off, but it looks just like the other sites- small. It has one little mark above and below it where the stitch the hold it in place was. I don't know why I was thinking it would be a huge hole. The longest incision I have is the one to the left of my umbilicus and it's just over 1.25 inches long (I measured it). They are definitely way better than I expected them to be. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}
  12. Karliy, you're right! It was going to be at the pool. I definitely don't think you will be in any condition to get in any pool even if you could, much less expose your fresh incisions to chlorine. You're going to have a 4x4 dressing on your JP site with a lot of tape over it that you can't get wet. You don't shower until day 3. You shower before your appointment and they change it that day. Then the day you leave, they pull the drain and put steri-strips on the site and a couple 4x4s just in case you have a little drainage. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}
