  1. I know what you mean about "figuring out what is what"...I sure hope I'm doing this right, I guess we all have to kinda learn as we go! This website sure is a big help!
  2. I had my surgery on the 11th and I'm not gonna lie to ya...I'm 3 days post-op and in pain, BUT, I have pain medicine, I walk (helps with pain), and I am following my surgeons instructions. However, none of that is stopping me from whinning, I'm a pain wimp! It hurts but everytime I hurt I tell myself how worth it that this surgery is. Everyday the pain has gotten less, I just wish I could poop but that's another story!!! Please don't let my comments about pain or anyone else's make you change your mind about having this surgery because I promise you once you have it and are on the mend you are going to be so happy...especially when the pounds start coming off and staying off!!!
  3. I was sleeved on the 11th and after reading all of these posts it's good to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel...can't wait till I get there cause I feel like crap...for real!!!
  4. I was sleeved on the 11th, I know this is going to be one of the best things that I have ever done for myself but d@m, it was definitely no walk in the park! I came home yesterday afternoon and the pain was terrible, thank God for pain meds, my husband, and knowing that I needed to get up and walk. Thanks to all of the valuable information that I have read in the forums on this site I knew pretty much what to expect and what to do, if I hadn't learned all that I've learned here I would have probably lost it yesterday. Today I am better, still have some pain but I am able to walk 'laps' in the house(slowly), sipping my water with protein powder in it, and I had a little creamed and thinned soup (a very little!). Looking forward to the future...the way I see it isn't "no pain no gain"...it's 'NO PAIN NO LOSS'!!! Good luck everyone
  5. My bag is packed and I gotta go to bed too...gotta get up at 3:30 to get to the hospital by 6:30!!! Good luck!
  6. I hope everything goes good for you tomorrow too! Good Luck!
  7. Glad to hear that you are home...I hope you feel better soon
  8. I looked at my ticker a few minutes ago and it is on zero days...surgery is today!!! YAYsville!!! I have to be at the hospital in about 11 hours to get my sleeve! When I saw Zero days on my ticker I kinda got butterflies in my stomach, lol Oh well, after tomorrow there won't be room in there for much of anything...much less butterflies. Good luck everyone, my next 'New Topic' post will be in the POST- surgery category!
  9. Yes and it's really good! Especially with chocolate protein shakes!
  10. Well, I don't get to have my surgery till tomorrow morning but just for the record, we have a Great Dane named Bedford that weighs about 140 pounds. By this time next year I hope to be able to say that I have lost 1 Great Dane, not our Bedford of course!
  11. Glad to hear everything is going so good for ya!
  12. My surgeons nurse called a little while ago to tell me what time to be at the hospital in the morning...6:30 a.m.!!! I was so excited when I told my husband and was talking so fast that he didn't understand me and asked "are you sure she didn't say 10:30"...soooo I had to call back just to make sure. It is officially 6:30 a.m. in the morning! YAY...I keep thinking to myself that I should really be nervous or SOMETHING but I'm not yet. I bet I will be in the morning though! :D
  13. I got 'the call' about an hour ago...I have to be at the hospital at 6:30 a.m. in the morning too!!!
  14. Yep...I have one too and my surgeon is going to fix it during my surgery tomorrow!!!
  15. You have no idea how good that sounds to me...
  16. I think I'll have a nice cup of chicken broth mixed with a dose of chicken flavored Unjury...YUMMY!!!
  17. I'm not sure if this will help but I bought some PB2 from GNC (45 cal & 5 gr protein per serving) and I make protein drinks with it in almond milk (30 cal), they ain't too bad either!!! Even better when I mix 1/2 a serving of PB2 & 1/2 a serving of chocolate Unjury!!!
  18. Glad to hear everything went so good for you!!! Take care!
  19. The first seminar we went to my surgeon told all of us that if we smoked we wouldn't get the surgery. We were told that we would be tested even up to the day of our surgery. That was February...I quit the first week of March and with the help of Chantix I am officially a non-smoker for almost 7 months now!!! I made up my mind that I want this surgery more than I want to smoke and for the first time after MANY times of trying to quit I have succeeded. My surgery is in 2 days and I am ready for my nicotine test, I've already been tested twice since April and have passed them both! YAY! Good luck!
  20. I don't think I realized or let myself realize exactly how overweight I am till I kept seeing pictures of myself...pictures don't lie. I have a picture of our Great Dane Bedford as my profile pic...he's gonna stay there too, at least till I get to a weight that makes me happy! You look great, Congratulations!
  21. I've had a moment like that but it was the reverse of what you got...I was out and a friend of mine didn't recognize me because I had gained so much weight. Hopefully the next time I'm not recognized it will be because I will have lost so much weight like you have done! Congratulations!
  22. Your story is like mine in a lot of ways...I lost over 50 pounds on the Atkins diet but once I stopped doing it I gained my 50 back plus more (story of my life!). I started this journey this past February and in 2 1/2 days I get my sleeve...I keep thinking that I should be more nervous about it or that I should be second guessing myself but I'm not, the only thing I really feel is that Wednesday can't get here fast enough!!! Good luck to ya and keep reading these forums...there is great information here!
  23. What a great Birthday present!!! Enjoy!
