  1. Wow! The two of you look great!
  2. Mine is actually in the same office. Not sure if I went to a different dr in the same practice would give me a different outcome but I might try
  3. Help needed from Arizona Sleevers! I need a new PCP who is WLS friendly. I went to mine today and refuses to write me a authorization because he's had 2 patients this month with complications from the labband. I told him I wasn't having the lap band but he still refuse. I am so frustrated this was one of my final steps now I will have to,wait until,I find a new PCP .
  4. Hope you feel better soon.
  5. I was just wondering how long it took everyone to get their sleep study results? I had a lot of trouble sleeping during my sleep study which is very usual for me. The tech said that I had a lot of leg movement and change in breathing while I was dreaming but couldn't or wouldn't tell me how severe it was. I did pass my psy eval on the 2.
  6. I am a high school teacher working with at risk youths.
  7. Congrats. I have my sleep study tonight and the psychologist eval tomorrow. I should be ready to submit by next Friday. I can't wait!
  8. I am in! Hopefully I will have my surgery in November and this will be a great way to get ready for it. I think everyone can probably guess my name and the state I live in. Lol
  9. I would love to meet everyone in person sometime,
  10. I am having my sleep study on October 1 st. Hopefully this will help qualify for surgery.
  11. mizzchrisv My current weight is 212. I am having my sleep study done on 10/01. Which will hopefully show that I have sleep apnea so I will qualify for surgery. It's strange to hope that something is wrong with you just so the insurance will approve something that you need. I am glad that you are doing well. Dr. Chen seem nice at my initial appointment.
  12. I am also from az and dr Chen will be doing the surgery. Hopefully in November.
  13. After 2 weeks of waiting for approval for sleep study, I found out that my policy doesn't require preauthorization for this procedure. What a waste of time but at least I now have an appointment for October 1st
  14. I also have Cigna. Maybe that is why it is taking so long to get approval for a sleep study. It's sad that I am praying that I have sleep apnea so I can get approve for surgery, that or gain 12 more pounds.
  15. My snoring has gotten so bad that my husband wants me to sleep in the other room, I also wake up several times during a night and always seem to be tired in the morning. So maybe I do have sleep apnea, it would certainly explain a lot of things that i have been blaming on my hypothyroidism medication not being strong enough when my doctor says that my levels are normal. Hopefully I will get approve for the sleep study soon.

Just wondering if anyone had their surgery at banner gateway in Gilbert AZ, if so who was your doctor and how was the hospital ? I went to the seminar and the initial consultation and was shocked to see that they billed my insurance over 450 just for the facility use (didn't count the doctor's fee).

  18. I will only be approve for surgery if I have sleep apnea. How many people who had a sleep study ended up with sleep apnea? What were your symptoms? It's taking my insurance over a week just to approve the sleep study no telling how long it will take to get an approval for surgery.
  19. I had my Initial consultation yesterday. The staff was very nice and informative. I found out that even through my insurance policy is with Cigna, my employer does not require the 3 month diet for approval. That's the good news. Now the bad news, I knew I would be close on the 40 BMI for automatic approval but thought that I would probably make it (I had thought about wearing leg weights but chickened out at the last minute), good thing since they made me take off my socks and jacket, I also had been suffering from a mild case of the stomach flu for a couple of days but didn't want to cancelled my appointment because it took so long to get one in the 1st place. Needless to say my BMI was only 39. Now I have to have a sleep study to see it I have sleep apnea and can qualify that way. I have read a lot of blogs sleeve candidates were required to get a sleep study but haven't read much about the results. Should I be worried or is it likely that I will be diagnosed with sleep apnea. I really don't won't to have to gain weight to qualify. If I have sleep Apnea I could have my surgery in about 6 weeks, if not I will have to start saving money for Mexico.
  20. I have the same problem. My initial consult is this Tuesday. My current BMI is 38.9 and I need to have at least a 40 BMI for an automatic approval. I have considered wearing leg weights but afraid that I would get caught since my doctor's office has the new scales that breaks down your weight into different categories.
