  1. I've heard good things about Dr. Kim. You might want to look into him also.
  2. That's awesome that you had such a great experience! I'm envious. Only makes me hope for the best and an more positive for a better outcome. Keep updating as I am loving reading everything!
  3. No they didn't cover the consult. I am just happy they will be covering the surgery!
  4. My issue with Dr Nicholson was all he had to do to approve my surgery was call insurance. I called my insurance company and they told me they had been waiting a month to have a peer to peer review with the doctor. That made me feel that if he couldn't pick up the phone to call my insurance company, then how am I sure that I would get good care from him after he takes my money. They also told me there might be a small charge for the consult to talk to him, they billed me 2 months later for 250 dollars. That's a bit much for 25 minutes. I switched doctors and am absolutely happy with the switch.
  5. My mom said the same thing. She's happy and worried at the same time. She'll come around when she sees you're excited about it.
  6. Can you give me your attitude? Lol. I keep thinking I will be the rudest bi**h! Especially because I work at an Italian restaurant. I love your attitude and a big congratulations! Keep updating!
  7. If you keep reading in a lot of these forums, there are people that have waited ten years, which is crazy! I did all my appointments in January and just got approved 3 weeks ago. My first surgeon had to call the insurance company to tell them that I needed it, but he never called, then they stopped returning my phone calls and emails. I switched doctors shortly after. I realized if they don't have time for me before they take my money, what time would they have after surgery. I switched and it took them a month plus a letter from my orthopedic surgeon saying I need it for my joints. I'm being sleeved September 19th, and I'm so excited I switched doctors and waited the 6 months. I felt everything worked out for the best. The appointments will help out a lot. I'm sorry this was so long!
  8. I'm doing the surgery with jayaseelan in Dallas. I went to Nicholson first and they seemed to give me the run around. Didn't feel at ease, so I went to Dr j. You have to go with your gut instinct. If you don't like a doctor or have bad feelings about them, don't continue with them. Consults are great because you get to talk to the doctor and see who they are. I didn't know Nicholson was going to charge me a $250 consult fee. Be warned about those!
  9. Love that you shared that with everyone. Helps with what to expect. I think you should post the hospital picture! keep updating! It's awesome!
  10. That happened to me last week for the first time. My kids and I went to six flags. It was my older son's first time to get on a big roller coaster. We sat down and the belt wouldn't buckle and they said I had to leave. The look on my son's face was heartbreaking. I cried for the next 15 minutes. I'm excited to go on all the rides next year with no restrictions other than fear!
  11. I'm supposed to go on a 7 day clear liquid diet pre surgery. What is included in that? I've heard broth, water, and jello. I don't drink broth, so I wouldn't know if I would like that. I work in a restaurant and am wondering how easy it is to do a pre diet like this and wait tables. If anyone has recommendations as to what to have in those 7 days and not get grumpy at customers, I would love feedback!
  12. Mine is 39! I know exactly how that feels! I'm ready!
  13. That's amazing to know that's what can happen when you wake up. Thank you for sharing! It's a scary feeling not knowing what to expect when you wake up. Keep updating with what's happening.
  14. Hi Brooke! Welcome and congratulations. I'm in Dallas, so I'm no help in that area!: )
  15. You'll be fine. Update after surgery. I'm excited to see your progress. Don't think negatively either. It'll get the best of you!
