  4. Hi everyone my name is McKenna. I have gone to UT Physicians off 610 S. In Bellaire for my surgery. Dr. Eric Wilson did my first one, Dr. Todd Wilson will be doing my second one which will be my revision to the sleeve. To the person who started this post I have heard of Dr. Spiegel And I have done sided I would never go to him based on other reasons you can inbox me later If you wish on this topic. I chose UT physicians because they are a center of excellence. Through any of my processes I have not had a bad experience whatsoever. I would like to go through this thread and read all earlier conversations but I have not at this time. I also look forward to meeting with anybody in any groups that you guys have thank you

  8. I am having the same miserable feeling and my band is not prolapsed I do not have heartburn or GERD by any means but because of that and my stomach problems since having my band unfilled I have been put on prescription PPI like dexilant or pantoprazole famotidine and carafate liquid 4X a day I am finally on a all carb diet per my PCP until surgery
  9. I am anticipating an August date but may be early September I do my final nutrition meet this morning and then I will be set to have my band changed into a sleeve!
  10. When I got my band done I was loosing weight the I slowed down on that front but I continued to loose sizes as my body reshaped and recurves itself as we'll so there is hope!!!! I went from all in all from 240-245LBS down to 160-165LBS a size 22-24 women's to a size 11 in juniors where I Plateaued and couldn't drop down any further . At about a year and two months I gained 20 pounds back secondary to starting medications I held this for another two years and then have gained another 30LBs since then secondary to complications! Now I am at just about my five year mark and I'll be having the sleeve done before I hit that mark!!

  14. I am very new to blogging and just downloaded this app today. I am having a revision of my realize band to the gastric sleeve. I am Very interested in the conversations and the information we all can share. Currently I still have my lap band It was placed October 21, 2008 And am expecting to have it revised hopefully within a month or less. I got an EGD done to take pictures to find out about my constant nausea vomiting and sliming . It showed my stomach was perfectly fine everything like that no problems except for a few ulcers. It turned out to be The esophagitis and H. pylori And so I started the course of treatment and had my band completely unfilled the same time. **side note I never have heart burn*** Since then I'm having horrible gastritis pain in my band site N/V/D and I can't take it anymore. Please tell me the sleeve helps with some of this ! I hope to have surgery soon!!
  15. Quote I had a consult with a surgeon and he's trying to talk me into the band. Given my bmi is only 36, He thinks I will loose a great amount of weight and become malnourished. I believe there are other reason for his push on the band. Like follow ups and the fills, means more . I over heard him through the wall, to the room next to mine, trying to push the band on another patient. Should I give the band a try first then have revision later if it fails?? So stressed over this! I have had the band for five years and for about the first 2 1/2 it worked great. I am finishing my final process to have a revision to the sleeve. Because my complications with the band are becoming so unbearable! I am actually on an all starch diet due to gastritis which I have NEVER had in my life. Now with these last few weeks constant diarrhea and dry heaves are horrible and make u feel dizzy! Honestly I would choose the sleeve first if I knew what I know now. Aftercare is set up for any and everything required. You don't even come in till you feel you need it. Why put yourself through two surgeries the sleeve was the newest option When I got my band five years ago Chat With me privately if you want to keep talking about it
  16. I am excited and nervous I complete my last part Of my insurance necessity's Today and then I just have to wait for a surgery date. I had my band placed back in October 2008 and have been having complications with it and weight gain since The end of 2011. I now have my two insurance to help cover all costs! Can someone please let me know if they had lots of nausea with the band and if you have more or less with the sleeve???? Tell me your stories about what the biggest differences please I crave information!!!!
