  7. Angela, Thank you so much for the reply... I really needed some positive friendly advice. You are right, we can do anything for 48 hours! I'll let you know how it goes and good luck to you, Thursday will be here before you know it...
  8. Wow, I am really impressed with what you've done! Would love, love, love a copy! Also, since your a teacher and I know school just started back, I would be more than happy to help you edit it and send it back to you. I'm pretty good with that sort of thing and am excellent at PowerPoint, adobe, etc. along with a few other programs! I'm sure the source file is large and may not be emailable, so please let me know if you want some help! I could use a new project to work on!!
  9. Hi Dee, My surgery isn't until 5 pm.... I'm almost going out of my mind, I'm not sure how to pass the time. House is clean, I'm packed, pantry us organized with everything I'll need for the first two weeks, clothes are done, dogs are bathed.. Get the picture? There is nothing left to do but wait!!! Lol. Good luck to you and I'll see you on the other side :-)
  10. Couldn't sleep last night at all, laid in bed and thought my heart would beat right out of my chest. Literally so hard and loud I could feel it in my toes, tummy, ears, etc. Border line panic attack! I've stayed busy today and I hope to God I'll get some rest tonight. I know this is the right path for me, and I know I'll be successful. But the wait has almost gotten the best of me right now. It's as if I'm in some weird state is stasis or limbo. I'm overjoyed and terrified at the same time at what comes next. The two competing emotions almost have me paralyzed. Any advice? I want this more than anything and thought I was emotionally and intellectually ready. Now I'm not so sure...
  11. I didn't sleep at all last night, literally laid in bed and at times thought my heart was gonna beat right out of my chest. It was so loud and hard I could feel it in my toes and tummy and ears. Almost borderline panic attack. I've kept busy today but I hope to God I can get some rest tonight. I know this is the right path for me, I know I will be successful at this. But the waiting has almost got the best of me. Now that it's almost here I am in a weird state of stasis almost. Part of me is overjoyed and the other part is terrified at what comes next. The two competing emotions have me almost paralyzed... Any advice?
  12. Any suggestions wld be appreciated. I am really bad in the kitchen and have no clue... Of course I can operate a blender but that's about it thanks!
  13. Hi kyrasma, My surgery is the 20th, so 7 days to go and I am going out of my mind! Super excited and of course nervous. Dr. Sheih in ft. Myers is my doc, and I'm having surgery at Holy Cross in Ft. lauderdale. Did you have serious complications with the band, or did it just not do what you were expecting? I was born and raised in Naples and was hoping to meet a new friend locally to share the experience with :-)
  14. You look beautiful! You give me hope that I can do it too ????
  15. I have my surgery in 8 days and this morning I went to get my final labs. I've been wondering how I would handle people asking me questions regarding my weight loss after the fact, and haven't completely made up my mind. So imagine my suprise when the woman behind the counter asked me what I was having surgery for, and out my mouth pops "bariatric, or weight loss surgery". I didn't think twice, I just answered her. Now comes the look of disbelief and the raised eyebrow. She stands up and looks me over head to toe. Says no way, you aren't big enough. Then she asks me how much I weigh and my height. I tell her - 5'-7" and 228. She laughs at me and says proudly, well I weigh 350 and I would never have that done. She continues to persist in questioning me, even asking me at one point to "show her my belly". I politely declined. Ten minutes later, there are 2 people in line behind me getting pissed off, the conversation has turned to her and her inability to not lose weight, what she eats daily (2 eggs and sardines for bkfst - nasty!) and she has shown me her stomach and arms and won't shut.up.ever..... Here I've been worried about what people might think after, never once did it occur to me that I would be looked down on by anyone who deals with weight issues themselves. She must have told me I was crazy at least 5 times, and that I just wasn't fat enough to have this surgery. She insisted I needed a second opinion that my Dr. Was just trying to "take my money"..... REALLY!???! WTF?! You've got to be kidding.
  16. I'm already starting to think of the 20th as my new "rebirth day"! Why are you unsure/doubting your choice of the sleeve? If you don't mind me asking ????
  17. Wow!! You look like a different person, I'm so thrilled for you! 106 pounds in 6 months is amazing... Great job!
  18. August 20th, can't believe I have a surgery date after only a month or so. I'm not currently working and have spent every waking hour trying to accomplish this, so I've def put in time, but still can't believe that in 12 days my life is going to change!!!
  19. August 20!! Originally mid September but they had a cancellation so I am completely thrilled! Only 12 days to go :-)
  20. Just found out that they had a cancellation for the 20, was expecting a September date so I am BEYOND thrilled!!!!! It's less than two weeks away and I'm literally dancing around the house. Guess its time to start cleaning my closet that I've been avoiding for the last two years ????
  21. I have a BMI of 35.2 with type2 diabetes, asthma and sleep apnea. I was told to not lose any weight and that they would not be putting me on a pre-op diet except 2 days prior to surgery. I have Medicare and I know the requirements change with different providers. I was actually bummed because I wanted to lose weight prior to the procedure, but oh well... ????
