Montero & mountaingirlco how are y'all faring post op? I'm home from the hospital now and just been thinking about you ladies. :-) Hope you are both doing well!

Was sleeved on Tuesday, October 1st. Just got home from the hospital late last night, so today really feels like my first day at home. I must say, the one thing I miss most about actually being in the hospital is the iv pain killers. My right side is where my largest incision is, and, according to my surgeon, is the incision they pulled my stomach through, and it is just really REALLY painful. I know everyone's different, but about how long did it take y'all to start feeling human again? Anyone else have this kind of pain post op?

Mine is also October 1st. I'm in Denver, CO and having my surgery at Rose Medical. It's getting here sooo fast!!

This forum is fabulous! I'm on day 8 of my pre op liquid diet, and my surgery is on October 1st. I've been coming to this forum every day for support and so far, I haven't cheated once on my pre op diet! So you definitely have support here. :-) Keep posting and checking in! Good luck!!

Omg I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels sensitive to smells while on this pre op liquid diet. Today was my last day at work since my surgery is on Tuesday, and it was like every smelly person was making my nausea even worse.

Yeah I'm on day 7 of my liquid diet. Days 2-3 were the worst for me. I drink the clear Isopure you can get from Vitamin Shoppe. It's so weird how every individual's liquid diet is different though. Hang in there! It gets better!

I get migraines too. I have since I was five. Are you keeping track of your Protein? I found that as long as I get enough protein I'm ok (so far, knock on wood.) I drink at least one Isopure per day.

It's interesting you bring this up now. I just had a conversation with my grandpa yesterday and this came up. He had a version of this same surgery but in 1971 and for totally different reasons. (Back then, they did this surgery as a treatment for extremely bad ulcers. And of course it wasn't laparoscopic either.) But he had the same titanium staples ever since then, and never a single problem. He just recently had an issue where he had to have images taken of his stomach, and his doctor today told him the staples look just as good now as they would if this was a recent surgery.

Hope its ok if I join in on this. I'm on day 6 of my liquid diet and going insane. But onlt momentary insanity; most of the time its ok. And my hubby is super supportive. My date is coming up on the 1st. I'm getting excited!! How are y'all doing??

Support is a must during this time. I'm on day 4 of my pre op diet (my surgery is on Oct 1st) and I've been having major ups and downs. But its all for the best.

Hey Birdie! I'm from the States but my surgery date is also October 1st! 10 days to go! I started my liquid diet today. It's getting to the exciting part now!
