What foods can you simply not have anymore?
Dallas was having a cold snap this past weekend so I made some go ol' Texas chili... Just tasting it made me hurt!! This was the first food my sleeve rejected.

sick of not loosing
I was curious why the scale wasn't moving yet I had lost two inches in my hips. Even though I'm not too good about exercise, I make sure I get at least 70 gms of Protein a day. What I read said that even without exercising you can gain muscle when eating a lot of protein. Since muscle weighs more than fat, I was losing inches although not losing weight. I kept doing what I was doing and the scale finally moved. Hang in there!!

Trying again http://www.nashuanutrition.com/store/protein-powders/protein-powder-samples-1-serving.html- Seeking advice - protein powders making me nauseous
I ordered samples here: http://www.nashuanut...-1-serving.html- Completely Devastated
Is continuing on your parents insurance with COBRA an option? The rate would be high, but much less than the surgery.- Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
As far as I can tell, most on the forum would agree that persons with lower BMI's tend to lose slower. What opinion, do most hold with regard to weight loss and body type. Are we seeing any significant differences between weight loss in an hourglass body type vs. an apple or pear body type?- NEED to find out the good Protein shakes!
I ordered samples of Protein drinks here. Everyone's tastes are sooo different, I found it best to try several. http://www.nashuanut...-1-serving.html- Insomnia!
So glad I saw this!! I can only sleep for 3-4 hours a night, then I want to sleep all day. I feel like a baby that has their days and nights mixed up. I think not sleeping is effecting my weight loss. We lose most of our weight while we sleep... Right?? Could it be because we are used to sleeping with full tummies??- August Sleevers?
Some days I get frustrated too! I was sleeved on 8/5 and depending on what starting weight you use I'm down between 30 and 16 pounds. My weight when starting this journey was 204, my weight the date of surgery was 190, today I weighed 174. When I think I have only lost 16# since surgery, I begin to wonder if I wasted my money as well. What keeps me going is knowing that if I keep following the rules eventually the weight will come off. There is no way I'm going to stay at 174 forever when I only consume 700-800 calories a day including 70g of protein. I started off with a lower BMI than most, so it's just going to take me longer. My body has already changed significantly. My husband compliments me constantly and anyone who hasn't seen me since before surgery tells me how skinny I look. Not sure how that few pounds of loss can make this much difference, but it does. Just keep doing what you are doing and try not to compare yourself to others. Try on the clothes you were wearing prior to surgery and I bet you will see a big difference. Go clothes shopping and see how you look in the size of clothes you couldn't fit in before the surgery (just don't buy them, since you are still shrinking ...). In a few months I bet you will come back and tell us how great you are looking!- Will you lie about the surgery?
I have not lied but did tell some who ask pre-op that I was having a hernia repaired, which was the truth. Since the surgery, I feel more free to tell others about the sleeve. They can see the results for themselves, and I have had no negative comments.- Scars
I have been using silicone sheets. At 10 weeks my scars are still pink, but very flat.- questions for August ppl
You are bragging.. Right?? I was sleeved on 8/5 and I'm just now passing the 25# mark.- Deyhytrated and hunger at night.
Many people take one or two daily for acid reflux.- Sleeved in Mexico by Dr. Alvarez
I live near Dallas and only paid 11K total for Dr. Kim in Colleyville. His price includes pre-op Protein drinks, hospital stay, anesthesia, lots of pre-op testing, nutritionist, and post-op care. No hidden fees whatsoever. Also, if he finds a hernia, he repairs it at no charge. I have been very satisfied.- Deyhytrated and hunger at night.
I have seen it suggested here to take an antacid when you feel like you are hungry and you know you just ate. Since this is happening at night, it could be that lying down is causing indigestion and an antacid would do the trick. Don't know about the drinking, but if you are eating at night that could be what is making you thirsty.- Please read this and help me. I need to know i'm not alone.
Have you told your new Dr. how hopeless you feel? The fact that you have considered "offing" your self is very concerning. Would it be possible to go for some inpatient help? It would be much easier for them to diagnose you and determine a treatment plan if you were admitted. If you tell your Dr. that you are considering offing yourself, he has an obligation to have you admitted. I know when they find the right combination of meds your life will be so much better. The trial and error with meds is a drag, but unfortunately that's the only way they can determine what works with your brain chemistry. I have been in the dark place you are right now, it's such a hopeless feeling. If you have had bouts of depression, you know this won't last forever. Please don't do anything you can't undo. Reach out and get some help, you and those who love you will be glad you did.- So apparently I'm a hypocrite for getting weight loss surgery
“O, beware, my lord, of jealousy; It is the green-ey'd monster, which doth mock The meat it feeds on.” ― William Shakespeare, Othello- Leave My Food ALONE!
For me it's not as much the cost as it is the inconvenience. I live 20 minutes from the closest store and order most of my goodies online. When my grown kids or grandkids come over and raid my stash I'm screwed until I either make a trip to the store or place an order! I feel horrible, but I have started hiding my food, inside canisters, under my bed, in the back of my closet. I feel like an alcoholic or a drug addict.- Hiatal Hernia and the sleeve?
Dr. Kim told my husband he spent more time on my hietal hernia than he did on the sleeve. Prior to the sleeve I had reflux BIG time, since the surgery I have had very little reflux and stopped taking AcipHex!! He must have done a fantastic job.- Just putting it out there, so 'dirty' little secrets may see the light of day!
Old habits are hard to break!! While icing a cake for my grandson's birthday, I started licking the spoon. I didn't even realize what I was doing until my daughter said, "MOM!" ..... I said, "whoops"..... I found "Buttercream Icing" in MFP, recorded my indiscretion, then drank an extra 8 oz. of water.- Beef Jerky anyone?
I have tried all of the Nesco flavors, they came with my jerky gun. Original is still our favorite.- Beef Jerky anyone?
