  1. First, I am so jealous of those of you who have already been sleeved. I'm 3 weeks from my date and I am a total wreck - excited and then ready to back out and then excited again... Here's my question: I live alone. My sister has offered to give me rides to/from the hospital, but that's it - I'll pretty much be on my own. I have a friend who has offered to come and stay with me for a week. I'm wondering if I should take him up on it. Will I want/need someone around or am I going to be so miserable that I'd rather just sleep and be left alone? Any input is most appreciated!
  2. I really appreciated this post! I am starting my pre-op liquid diet early because I can't be trusted to eat anymore. (I've been on a food bender with "last meal" syndrome!). When was your surgery?? I want to start looking forward to when I will be "feeling great!" CONGRATULATIONS! I hope it keeps feeling great!
  3. Hi all! I am scheduled for Aug. 22 and supposed to start my pre-op diet on Aug. 15. I am having to start early because I CANNOT QUIT EATING! It is like some emotional melt down. And, for me, once I start with sugar, I go nuts. Every day I tell myself that I'm going to do better tomorrow, but then I don't. So.... something's gotta give. Even though I'm 3 weeks out, I'm thinking about going to liquid now (4 Protein shakes/day) to prevent me from putting on another 10 (or 15!) lbs over the next 3 weeks! Good luck to all!
  4. Thanks to all who replied. I appreciate the suggestions. I also appreciated those who "know what I mean" and are feeling the same way. I have decided to go ahead and start my pre-op diet tomorrow. Even though I am 3 weeks out, I am so tired of the insanity. I figure this will be a good way to prepare myself. I don't know about you guys, but I am SO looking forward to not thinking about (and obsessing about) food all the time. It is a change that I know will be difficult but will be SO worth it! Love to all!
  5. Hi all! I have surgery scheduled for Aug. 22 and I feel like I'm preparing for the electric chair. I have to start my pre-op diet one week before (on Aug 15). In the meantime, I feel like I can't quit eating. It's silly because I know from everyone on here that I WILL be able to eat my favorite foods again. I also know that this is just more weight that I will have to lose once I have my sleeve. All of that said, I feel out of control. Anyone else feel like this? Any words of wisdom? The only solution I can think of is to start my pre-op diet now/soon.
