Thanksgiving Challenge
Although it's still a little early, I wanted to go ahead and get things set up for a new challenge...the Thanksgiving Challenge. 1. Be sure and log in here on October 31, post your start weight and your goal weight for the challenge. 2. When setting your goal, keep in mind that this is a short challenge, only 4 weeks long. 3. Weigh in every Thursday and post your updates here. 4. Watch the data at http://sdrv.ms/1c1AT8J to see our progress as individuals and as a team. GOOD LUCK! Big nod out to FeelsMe2 for setting up the Halloween Challenge that we're having so much fun with! Just trying to follow suit with the next challenge. To check out the Halloween Challenge data, go to http://sdrv.ms/19Qmc3j. Last Update (attachment): 11/08/2013

Halloween Weight loss Challenge
Tammi, you should be able to download this one and modify it for the next challenge, especially if you know your way around Excel just a bit. Feel free to ask me any questions and I'll try to walk you through it. I keep a more complex one for my own daily stats and have a blanked out copy posted for anyone that wants to try using it as well. Just let me know if you want to see it and I'll post a link and some instructions too. Here's the link to this one: https://skydrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=C39B86143819E4E1!634&app=Excel

Halloween Weight loss Challenge
I'm at 241.4 this morning...just another half pound and I've reached my Halloween goal of 12 lbs lost! Other stats: 11 reporting in so far this week 4 people have already reached goal (chart shows 3 since I talked FRED1977 into increasing his goal) 12 people are better than 60% toward their goal The group (of 73, including drop-outs) has lost over 400 lbs together!!! The group (of 48 still reporting in) has lost 385.9 lbs together!!! Average loss per person (385.9/48) is 8.04 lbs! 2 more weeks left in the challenge. AWESOME!!!

Things I Can Do Now
Almost 50 lbs down and I'm still struggling to Celebrate as I'm still wearing the same clothes and comments about my losses are rare. But I noticed something this morning, something I can do now that I could not before, and now I'm feeling upbeat again. After I started thinking about it, SEVERAL things came to mind. 1. I can trim my toenails easily! 2. I can put my blue jeans on while standing up, and without leaning against anything! 3. I can reach, and dry, EVERY BODY PART after showering! 4. I can lace up my shoes now (as opposed to leaving them loosely laced up and slipping them on and off)! Woo Hoo! Here's hoping you'll share what you can do now as well!

Lettuce Wrap - Yum!

Halloween Weight loss Challenge
Now that we have a few weeks' worth of data, I created a tab in the measures spreadsheet with graphing capability. It's not much, but it can still be interesting. Open the spreadsheet and choose the "Graphs" tab at the bottom of the page. If you choose your name in the list on the right, your stats will show up in the chart. I'm including a screenshot of mine here for you to see what I mean: Anyway, just having more fun with Excel. Enjoy! Link to online spreadsheet: http://sdrv.ms/19Qmc3j

What do you order at restaurants after weight loss surgery?
The biggest reaction I get when I eat out is over the fact that I order, specifically, no drink. This simple request causes a great deal of confusion and even occasional concern (i.e. "Oh my! did your waitress neglect to get your drink?! Can't I get you something? Not even water?").

Sleeve surgery
I am morbidly obese, but surprisingly healthy. I don't know how many times I heard my doctor say something like, "I wish I could encourage you to lose weight for your health, but all your measures just look normal!" Like jandseakin said, a big part of my decision was quality of life. Also, I work as the marketing manager in a mid-size, but growing, business. I need to be able to interact with people without my obesity being an unwelcome issue or influence. So I guess you could say part of my decision for this is career growth.

Down 105.4!
FABULOUS! We have similar starting starting stats (I'm older and slightly shorter) but seeing this has definitely given me hope about reaching my own goals. AWESOME PROGRESS! CONGRATS!

Trying to gain some stats please help me out.
It's almost embarrassing to post this, but I keep incredibly detailed stats about my progress (I'm less than 10 weeks out) in a place where anyone can view them. Before anyone expresses concern over my "obsession" I just want to say it's more about me being obsessed about Excel than it is being obsessed about my weight. All I really do is enter my daily weight and occasionally note any "milestones" achieved. The spreadsheet does all the rest. Anyway, here's the link if you want to look at it: http://sdrv.ms/1aS4JYG

Halloween Weight loss Challenge
Fred, you're doing so good I think you need to set a different Halloween goal! You originally set it at 245, for a loss of 10 lbs., but have already lost 12 lbs. Nice progress! Congrats!

Halloween Weight loss Challenge
I'm in Texas. I keep an apartment in Houston, near where I work, but go home on the weekends to see my hubby (retired) down the coast. It's a strange lifestyle, all that being apart, but it's worked for us for years. Good luck with your progress...I'll be watching [chasing] you!

Halloween Weight loss Challenge
Wow! Awesome results coming in on this week's reporting. For example: 9 out of 24 reporting so far record losses of 3 lbs or more this week! WOW! Link to online data: http://sdrv.ms/19Qmc3j

Halloween Weight loss Challenge
Curious I checked out your profile to find we really are sleeve sisters. I'm a year older and an inch taller. Other than that, you and I have a lot in common. I don't even remember the 230s however, so I'm chasing you on that one. Still, I'll get there soon enough. Congrats on your awesome progress!
