  1. Hi Kathy, I'm a Long Islander - Define eastern???? I'm in Holtsville and a speciaal needs mom too! there's a few of us islanders on the board.
  2. Mistic, Welcome to the board. You'll fing load of support here and hopefully understand you are not alone. You are too young to find yourself in the walflower position. It hurts. Good luck to you
  3. Shakes, sweats, and a feeling of being fuzzy, loopy - I couldn't work drive etc. and I got very angry. I met with a physologist who said to be medically supervised because it could cause psycic eposides. I could see my self going postal with a little lapse in judgement. My neighbor is a pharmaicst and hepled my ween off of it very very very slowly. My PCP was stuck on it as well so this was not her area of expertise. While I was on it I felt great but I started on anti depressiant post partum, Nick is not 7 and half I wanted to see if life was still good without anything. I hated the fact I couldn't cry.
  4. Angeleyes I had a horrific experience getting off it. Beware of Effexor. I changed from Prozac because my primary thought I wasn't losing weight on the P and the Effexor has less of a side effect. What was not explained to her or me was Effexor is a strong medically addicting medication. It took me 6 months to get off of it. I finally came off after surgery, because it was time released I couldn't crush it and I was down to taking 1 pill everyother day from 3 pills a day anyway so there I was weened and happy to be done with it. SO far so good. But I'm on the look out for the warning signs of depression. Good luck to you Karen!
  5. The port thing is sooooooooooooooooo visible under the Flouro, I think the worst case scenerio would be under the scope fills instead of regular ones. I work with a great many RN and patiens who have ports for other reasons - cancer, CF etc. ANd the ports are usually preety darn reliable. Hang in there - hope it turns out to be nothing!
  6. Babs (((HUGS))))), Take a deep breathe. Wishing you a better next week than last. I hope you MIL will get settled quickly and find some friends at her new place. It must be horrible to lose a spouse, apartment and being around close friends all at the same time. Patiences and kindness Hang in there Debby

Underwires give me the look and feeling of when I was in my 20's. Perky round with a little cleavage. I'm so somfortable in them - they tend now to but all the strain on the strapes and it seems to balance it out. Just my opinion
  8. I found phillip chew chocolate thing a ma jigs. Tonight was my frist really BM iin a week. What's up with that? Good luck and if you find a majic remenedy please share.

ok when those skinny B's are smart an dnice it really throws me through a loop. I need to enviision them stupid and shallow in order to justify things. Hey we have a few members that may qualify for the skinny B - green with envy thing- I hope I'm one of them next year!LOL
  10. Screw the PCP! Find a endocrinologist preferrable associated with a medical center who has experience with hypothyroidism. I've have it all my life and what the numbers say on the tests is only half the story. Each person is at their optimal levels differently on the same scale. The PCP probably took a short rotation in med school on this very complex issue. Good luck to you Good luck to you
  11. GOOOOOOODDDDDD FOR YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!! I'm so excited for you! June is a beautiful month to start a new life. Just think as you pack away seasonal clothes , you can bury them real deep in the closet. You are so worth the money. Hey it's half of what a new car would of been and this will last a lifetime.
  12. Believe you me - you can't cheat with the band -I tried. Hang in there and focus on something else - clothes shopping in a smaller size - paint a room - clean - anything just to divert you attention. YOU CAN DO THIS and if you falter - get up and keeping going.

  16. Aileena, Good luck on the pre opt diet - I can say - I didn't need to do it and I was a little caught off guard having to do it after. Clear liquids??
  17. I weighted 225 this morning down 21. Yiiippppeeeee! I'm so happy that I can close my suit jackets for work without cutting off the circulation.
  18. Welcome from another newbie on the other side!!!! Good luck! I'm post op 14 days and felling fine (21lbs lighter too!)
  19. Hey you say cheese cake like its a bad thing. If it was a 1/2 oz it was alot. The yourgut was no sugar added and almost the same consistency as the Protein shake. Very smooooooooooooth. Maybe yesterday I had 500 calories. I need to pull that up to 800 a day. So did I cheat, yeah I can't lie but I'm a rebel in my own right and I need to test the rules now and again. Testing the rules with 500 calories is pretty darn good. I use to have a 1500 calorie lunch and then wonder why at 4pm I was still hungry, Have you both started walking or are you directed to lay low. Me got one mile in this week officially with the pedimter. I'm hoping for 5 by the close of Sunday. Happy Thursday
  20. I went down the pet isle tonight in Target and thought a chew toy even looked good LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL I really am having a touch pshyological time with that one. Chew a nice crusty piece of bread - yeah baby!!!
  21. What a crazy week girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just want to chew on something , anything. I am seeing the psych and the surgeon tomorrow. I had a good day today. My first that I can say wasy half way normal. 24 oz Water in by 11:30am, pretty damn good for me. I was at a luncheon today and had to eat something - I had a small fork full of very creamy soft cheese cake and a tiny piece of fresh motserella cheese. then 16 oz of water in the afternoon and a yoplait baby yorgurt. Banana pretty taste and the n to finish off the evening more water. I'm a little slower than normal but in tacked. I travel around for work and I get stiff in the car but it's been ok. No pain meds either - us strong NYers! I did go thorugh that fuzzy phase and it could be from the anethesia and the adjustment. I had alot of energy today, probably because I had my Protein, a little carbs and some milk based thing today. If they are all like today I'm O K ! Hang in there. Any initial weight loss yet??
  22. Aileena, Here you are on the official May list. I was suppose to do the mushie thing right away but waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy toooooooooooooo tight. Liquids are going ok for today. Don't rush the mushie - it's overrated! Wishing all a better tomorrow!
  23. Ok, I'm back. I'll update the full May list tomorrow. It's mothers day and I'm just getting back from the hospitsl. I was readmitted. My stomach was swollen around the band, I couldn't pass my own saliava. Yuck I spit up for almost 18 hours. Back in Hosp on IV fludids and steriods to shrink the swelling and here I am. Post opt 6 days and down 12 lbs. Holy Shit! I',m at 228. food who needs food?????? I'm planning my fall wadrobe already! Hope all is well with my fellow Mayers. Anyone else hit a bump???? Love to All, Debby
  24. Hi everyone, So I can't get to my feet to but my shoes on. So walking will have to wait till DH gets home. I'm not on Clear liquids , my MD put me right to mushies. I've been sipping Water all mo9rning and now I'm going to try a protien thing a mi gig I got from the MD office. I think I'm going to find it difficult to stay with in the 45 -60 g Protein a day, but lets give it a whirl. I feel swollin and pretty damn tender. Debby
  25. Well - I'm home and banded. Mercy medical center was great. They had me walking every two hours and controled my pain pretty well, The surgery went well. Mt only real pain is around the port sight at this time. I'm still no hungry whick is a miracle for me. I go right to mushies. I had tomato soup last night with two crackrs. I didn't finish it but I certainly enjoyed it. I'll keep you posted . I can't believe I was so delusional that I thought I was going to work today. Just me and the perceisit today.
