mmmmm - yes - soggy - very nice fstarking soggy toast and baked beans

It's just like a steamed sponge - not as light as a sponge cake - heavier - but tastes like a nice heavy sponge type cake thingy (that's the technical name) !!

Don't worry - absolutely no offence taken - I was kidding, I knew what you meant. My American husband thinks Spotted Dstarkstark is pretty funny too - actually it's basically a plain pudding with raisins in (they are the "spotted" part) it is steamed and served with hot custard (a British staple with puddings) super stodgy but a true comfort food in the winter time. This thread has turned very silly indeed and given me huge laughs so thanks everyone, can't wait to see who posts something next !!

YES !! that is a great way of describing it - I was completely deflated. You spend so much time preparing yourself and thinking about it and stressing about it and all of a sudden it isn't there. It was the weirdest feeling - I stayed home all weekend in a fog, just did not know what to do with myself. So glad that you got sleeved and through it though - that's got to feel great !!

This is my luggage all packed and ready for my Mexico sleeve adventure with Dr Illan. It's been laying there since last Wednesday but I never got to Mexico. My house/pet sitter had a family emergency and so I had to cancel. I was so bummed I haven't even been back to this forum until now. I would have been sleeved last Saturday and coming home tomorrow. To make matters worse I can't even re-book straight away. I'm becoming a US Citizen next week and cannot leave the country without a US Passport so it's going to be another 2-3 weeks. I know I sound whiny but I had worked myself up to this for several weeks, I had been on a liquid diet for a week too so this just threw me for a loop. Anyway, that's my vent out of the way, I will be more cheerful from now on I promise !!

Oh honey, you're so not alone - my surgery is Saturday in Mexico and I am thinking the EXACT same things. It's normal - it's natural - we all freak out when it's this close. Just focus on the prize, the end result, your good health for all the years to come. I'll be thinking of you !!

Oh boy ! could not agree more - that is exactly what I was thinking when I read the above post from nomorecupcakes - her doctor choice "Dr. A" most certainly has had some drama in the past couple of months. But unlike nomorecupcakes thankfully most of us recognize that this can and will happen to any good doctor ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD including the United States and Mexico. And as for bargain shopping - well why not !! - good lord most of us are not blessed with being independently wealthy - every penny counts - you just do your best to temper costs with choice - AND my choice is the lovely DR ILLAN !!
