  1. Hi Leah I think all your questions are relevant and your fears completely normal. If you did not have these feelings then I would be worried. This decision you are about to make cannot be reversed, you can't get a refund, you need to identify that you have done everything you possibly could by diet and exercise first. Your health obviously is the priority what comorbidities do you have or could possibly develop. I'm 3 weeks post op have had personal trainers / gym etc had a baby and still struggle with the weight loss. The week before my op I nearly killed myself in a car accident because of all the stress, was I making the right decision...... Post op; every day gets better no regrets the first four weeks are the hardest I reckon it's a total head fu** I lost 20lbs in the first week there was no way I could of lost that normally. I'm eating the same as my 2 yr old. Support systems are paramount this journey will be an emotional roller coaster when they remove your sleeve it plays with your hormones. Some people will support you others won't, you will find out who your true friends are. Knowing that I can drop 80lbs, can prevent diabetes and heart disease etc and run around with my 2yr old, get my self esteem back, feels like I have been given a 2nd chance. I'm less scared now feel more in control, remember the sleeve is only a tool not a magic wand. I wish you every success and happiness.
  2. You are smoking hot Megan awesome job
  3. I too initially opted for the band as I'm considered lightweight BMI 37 have a few colleagues that have dropped huge numbers on the band and done well then I did more research and read about all the negatives the slippage of the band, the eroding of the band, the cost of the fills the wait time from surgery to first fill, the vomiting, the restrictions etc I changed my mind to the sleeve. It's a personal decision scary I know research research and good luck to you sister :-)
  4. Hope all goes well thinking if you :-)

    Hot yoga perceptions and questions

Hi I did Bikram for one year before sleeve and it is awesome you divide your weight by the time you spend in the room and that is how many calories you loose .....sorry cant answer the other questions but I can't wait to get back into it I hope you try it and enjoy it as much as I did...
  9. Love your honesty Cheri and you are right it is all about the head and choosing which coping strategies will be healthy and which ones won't, and if the cause of the problem is not understood or acknowledged then maintenance will be nearly impossible. You look amazing and I'm so happy for you and your family that you have achieved this, you have worked hard, congrats girlfriend you are an inspiration to all.

    Friend or foe?

It's so hard I've stopped telling people I'm going to have the sleeve as all I hear is negative stuff " that's just the easy way out" " your not that big" "Make sure your doing it for the right reasons" After 15 yrs of trying to lose weight and spending $$$$$ on personal trainers, gym membership diet pills, etc I'm ready, I've done my research I'm going to be calorie counting for the rest of my life but hopefully I will get a chance of a healthy life to........
