  1. I didn't have "funerals" because I know that in the future I'll be able to taste those foods again. I did have some of my favorite things 2 weeks before starting the pre-op diet. The first day of the pre-op diet I was wishing I DID have funerals so that I could think back on all that I was missing out. I'm on day 4 and I am craving eggs, grilled chicken and veggies but feel a lot calmer than the past days (and woke up with a lot of energy). Yesterday I was craving butter. Butter on a spoon.... that's kind of sad, isn't it? Lol
  2. Yes I did. I think its normal to wonder if this is the right decision. You're voluntarily saying "please remove most of my stomach out to assist me in getting healthier" I've been questioning myself a lot since my pre op diet started. All this hard work so far, and this us just the beginning, plus, I lost 11 pounds the first 3 days of the preop diet. It makes me wonder of I really can lose weight on my own and not have this surgery. But then I think I couldn't do this long term, eventually cave into something yummy and eat everything in sight.
  3. I got my time... 10 am. Have to check in at 8. Clear liquids and SF jello/poweraid/popsicle sticks (only 5 day preop diet). I had a campbells tomato soup for dinner tonight (very watered down). Now I'm wondering if that qualifies as a clear liquid. Going to be extremely strict with myself for the next two days.
  4. I hope you've been feeling better today.
  5. I got my surgery date... September 23. I'm on day 2 of the preop diet (started sept 18). The insurance coordinator at my doctors should have heard back on the 18th. She said I will know by tomorrow morning. She told me to just continue on with the liquid diet and that we would see. *keeping fingers crossed and a positive state of mind*
  6. I'm scheduled for sept. 23Rd as well. Started pre op diet today. I'm proud I haven't cheated but so tempted to do so. I don't know how people can do this for over a week.
  7. This is why I'm doing it. I have a 2 year old son and is extremely playful and active. I can barely keep up with him without being in pain and when we go to the playground, I have to sit down and watch him and my husband (who is in a bit better shape than I am, but contemplating VSG) playing with him. If I can't keep up now, where am I going to be the rest of his life? Sitting one the sidelines? No way.
  8. Will do definitely let you know. They said they hear back pretty quickly. I just hope I get good news. *fingers crossed *. I will definitely let you know when I hear anything.
  9. My tentative surgery date is sept. 23 my paperwork was submitted this morning to my insurance company. I am only thinking positive thoughts. And preparing for September 23rd. ETA: Mt starting bmi was 49.
  10. Good luck!!! And can't wait tyo hear back from you, you will come out great!
  11. Hope you have a speedy and painless recovery! Good luck and keep us posted! You'll be out of surgery in no time !
