  1. No offense to anybody, and I have not been banded very long at all, but I got the band because it would allow me to eat everything, just in smaller quantities. So I will be happy to eat it when I feel like cooking it, but instead of 2 lbs, I will eat 1/2 cup.
  2. Another NSV! OK, it's a bit silly but made me happy- I was able to wear my kitchen gloves to wash my dishes today! Before they would not fit ( size large I think, biggest I could find at Wal-Mart) and I had to do dishes bare-handed. Not anymore!!!
  3. Well, I am a very picky eater, so I ate sf jell-o, sf popsicles, crystal light, slim-fast and tomato soup. That was it, for 2 weeks! Needless to say, head hunger was killing me.
  4. cheese omelet- made with smoked mozzarela and shredded parmesan. Slices of lox ( smoked salmom) rolled up with ff cream cheese and capers. Yummy!
  5. Mine was a little over 2 hours, there were 2 psychologists asking me questions and then they gave me a bunch of multiple choice tests. Glad that is behing me.
  6. Lynette- that's fantastic news!!! Congratulations! I can't imagine how excited you must be!!! Felicia- I was wondering where you were. I am sorry about your dad. I will pray for your family. Lorna- welcome to our group, and I am sorry to hear you started off on the wrong foot. Hopefully things will go smoothly from now on. Itzonlyme- welcome to our group also. How exciting to get banded with your daughter! Well, I am very excited also. No, I did not strike it 'rich' like Lynette but I have lost an additional 3 lbs and my belt moved another notch! Man, I LOVE my band! :whoo:
  7. Lynette- I had to wear a belt, my shorts were very, very loose. Anyways, it is a belt from Lane Bryant, but I was still happy to be able to tighten it up. I also have not been able to tuck in a shirt in years, that's on my list of things to look forward to also! Unru and mango- where are you from? School starts so early! Chim- be happy you are able to surf the web while at work. I am jealous!
  8. I am 5'5 and I would be very happy at 160. That was my weight up until getting married and I looked and felt great. I actually don't like the 'bony' look, and I don't want to be too skinny, I like curves, but that's just me.
  9. I used Dr. Marquez from the same office and she is fantastic, couldn't be happier. All the staff are very nice, including the in-house nutritionist. I can;t say anything about Dr. Fass though.
  10. I believe- but am not sure- that is because sugar spikes your sugar levels, giving you a high, followed by a crash and desire to eat more sugar to get back on that high. And the cycle keeps going, and we keep gaining.... so no sugar, the cycle is broken and we lose faster.
  11. Jackie- fitting into clothes is the best, isn't it? Congrats!!!! Keep up the great work.
  12. IndioGirl- congrats! That's so hard to do, sit there fore 2 hours and not eat, all those smells... super willpower! Lindaa- welcome to bandter's hell! You should be happy you actually lost a pound around family. In my humble opinion that's also a major challenge. Me, I am very happy because my belt moved a space! Yeah!
  13. Walk, walk, walk! You will be amazed at how much you can burp.
  14. My photos turned out very nice- it's freaky to see your insides like that! I don't know about the video, might ask on my next appt.
  15. Sure thing, right one much bigger than left. I will need breast work for sure when this is all done.
  16. I have just started a new thread with this questions and thought I would ask you all as well. My dr. took 2 pictures of my insides during surgery- one of the liver and one of the band in place and gave them to me as a souvenir. She said she does that to all her patients. Did anybody else's dr. do this?
  17. I haven't seen anybody mentioning it, so I thought I would ask. My dr. took 2 polaroid shots of the inside of my tummy during surgery- one of the liver and one with the band in place. She then gave it to me as a 'souvenir.' Did anybody else's dr. do this?
  18. SD Chick, DH and I love cod so I will definetely try this. For how long was the fish on the oven? About 10 minutes?
  19. Head hunger? That's my middle name. I am not hungry most of the time but just want to eat. I start having these cravings and can't stop thinking about them. And I want to eat huge portions, pig out really. This has happened every time I tried to lose weight. Good thing I have the band now to help me with my overwhelming impulses!
  20. Our dear president and his war.
  21. I think this stat. is to cover the dr.'s a**. That way in case the patient does not put forth his/hers best effort and does not lose all the money a lawsuit is less likely to occur because there were never any 100% weight loss promises made. So, with this stat. any dr. has a whole lot more happy patients.
  22. Looooooooove cheese!!! By all means of my favorite foods. I would die if I could not have it. I am on mushies right not and string cheese is going down just fine. I take in really small bites and chew chew chew.
  23. Danny, thanks for the update. Enjoy Red Lobster and have fun on your vacation!
  24. I too saw the show and they did seem like a very loving family, a little bit in the 'cult' side though, like they were tied up to some sort of religion or something. But, they can afford them, so I am all for it. Personally, I would not do it.
