  1. Getting sleeved October 2nd, so ready!
  2. Went to my grandpa's 95th birthday party yesterday, my eldest uncle and cousin always make it a point of letting me know how fat i am, not always with words. I am being sleeved October 2nd and I can't wait until they can't judge me by my weight any longer. Family usually is the most brutally honest and the most hurtful.
  3. I had my preop class yesterday and I have my gallbladder ultrasound and final appointment with the surgeon next Friday. Scheduled for surgery October 2nd. Getting very excited! Anyone else on the 2nd?
  4. I got the call Friday that my surgery is scheduled for October 2nd. I have a couple more preop appointments and I will be ready. I am so excited! I decided to have the surgery in January so it will be almost 9 months from my decision until my surgery. Anyone else in October?
  5. Just got my surgery date and I am schedule of October 2nd, excited and nervous!
  6. My surgeon had a list of people he recommended, I found one my insurance would accept and went to him. He was in the same building as my surgeon and pretty much had a list of questions he rattled off, mostly about the surgery and lifestyle change. Still waiting on surgery approval so I am not sure if I passed or not. Lol Fingers crossed that I get my approval soon.
  7. I had a total of 6, beginning in February and ending in July. Once a month, sometimes not exactly a month apart. If I was there and it was a new month, he went ahead and completed the flow sheet. Surgeon called and they will submit everything to insurance next week. Insurance said they have at least 15 business days to make a decision. So I'm guessing if everything goes alright, I am looking at surgery sometime in September. I actually began the process with my insurance in January, so be prepared that it is actually longer than 6 months.
  8. I had to weigh in monthly with my primary physician but it is my understanding this could have been done with a nutritionist or at a place like weight watchers. It was a drawn out process, even my PCP was tired of it. Now I'm just trying to make sure the surgeons office has everything they need to submit to insurance.
  9. I have completed my 6 month preop visits with my primary care physician and I am currently waiting in approval from my insurance company. I am so excited and anxious I can hardly stand it. I have been overweight my entire life and have struggled to lose weight and keep it off. I have 4 year old twin girls and I am doing this to be healthier for them. My last step is to stop smoking, I am struggling with this but know I have to do it. I have been reading posts on here for awhile and decided it was time to post one myself. Looking forward to this journey and getting to know some of you.
  10. I am waiting on approval from UHC, I've done all of the preop stuff now just waiting on them. I am excited and hope everything gets approved. Hang in there, it's a long journey.
