  1. This is a great reminder of why I am so grateful to have found this group.....before reading threads here, I really thought I wanted the lap band and I am happy to have found all the information here to steer me down the right path!
  2. Congrats to you and what a great attitude you have! Can't wait to hear how your surgery goes....good luck!
  3. So I did all my prereq appointments, started attending a support group and had everything ready and submitted only to find out I have to work with a third party wellness program for 6 months before I can be approved. I know this is normal for many people but I wasn't expecting this as I was told it was not required by my insurance; apparently this is required by my employer. I will know more once I talk with the dietitian and nurse. It's just weird as it is all done via phone. Has anyone had these health coaches over the phone? Can someone push the fast forward button? I really want to get to surgery!
  4. I think it has more to do with my employer's requirements than bcbs as I was told by my surgeon's office that bcbs is usually pretty quick...good luck to you!
  5. What a wonderful idea!! I'm absolutely doing this.....thanks for sharing!
  6. How long since your surgery? Do you do office work?
  7. Heaviest outfit and quarters in bra...love it!
  8. It seems silly to me some of the different hoops we have to jump through! We just want to be healthy and better our lives...it's cheaper to have the surgery than all the health issues, medications, surgeries, etc that come from us staying this way. Good luck to you!
  9. That's awesome....you must be close to getting your surgery date?
  10. Thanks....found out my appointments with their dietitian and nurse will be next month...hope time goes by quickly!
  11. You look amazing! Thank you for sharing your picture....it really is an inspiration!
  12. Looking great and can totally see it in the smile! Keep up the great work!
  13. I just found out my company utilizes a 3rd party company for us to work with to obtain insurance authorization. Apparently I have to work with their "coaches" as part of my approval process. Would have been nice to know before but no they're talking upwards of 6 months to approve....not what I was originally told. Frustrating but I must remember everything happens for a reason....even if it stinks for awhile :-(
  14. That's great Tina! I'm still waiting for my insurance but am soaking up all the info I can while I prepare
  15. I too am pre-op and struggling with not telling people. I don't feel it is anyone's business but there are a few people close to me that I may share it with them later but not now. My DH and my best friend know and that's it for now. Good luck to you on whichever way you choose to handle it!
  16. I started the year at 385 and have lost almost 40 pounds on my own. I'm just waiting for insurance approval and then I can meet with surgeon. I am happy to see such great results for those of us starting 300+....great job to all of you...keep up the hard work and thank you for providing inspiration to the rest of us!!
  17. Great to hear David! Good luck Lynn on quitting smoking! I know it can be hard but it's worth it!!
  18. That's horrible! May these next few days go quickly for you.
