Where does the saline go?
I was banded on June 21, 2007. I have not had a fill yet and can't even imagine having one. I still drink liquid protein two times a day and only eat soup. If I try to take a bite of sandwhich, taco, muffin, etc. I will end up feeling sick, vomiting or just foaming up when I belch. I have lost over 50 lbs. and I miss "overeating", but I am happy with the weight loss. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this much restriction for this many months (four)? Also I have been told I will need a swallow test prior to my fill. My insurance isn't paying for any of this, so I will need to pay cash. Any idea where to go to do this or what the cost will be. Mahalo!

WHAT FOODS GETS STUCK or give you problems?
It's been five weeks since surgery and I was wondering what I was looking forward to being able to eat besides soup/broth. After reading what everyone said gets stuck, I don't think there is anything I can eat. Are you ever able to pick up a sandwich at the deli and eat it. Or will I be eating soup forever?

Scared to tell boss any ideas?
I had a bad experience with my work when I took time off. Told my supervisor who then told her friend and I believe almost everyone knows now. I am considering filing a grievance with the union. Just for the principal of it. We should be able to keep things quiet when we choose.

In pain
Georgigirl. Yes, yes, yes. I felt so bad up to the fourth day. The coughing was the worse for me. I am three weeks out and the coughing is still once or twice a day. But everything feels okay. The moving around is good though, helps heal faster. I sucked on sugar free cough drops

Tube down the throat during surgery?
I was banded on 6/21 and they used a tube for the anesthesia. I had a cough for two weeks after which I assumed was from the irritation from the tube. In fact it is just going away.

Banded 6/21. Can't stop coughing, spitting up.
Help. I was banded on Thursday evening 6/21. The next day I had a swallow test/xray and it showed everything in place fine. The next day I had an endoscopy, showed everything okay. But I have to sleep sitting straight up, because otherwise (and even then) I have a tickle, that causes me to cough, that hurts, and then I eventually spit up flem. I lay at night gurgling in my throat. I'm exhausted. It hurts to drink anything besides water. Chicken broth tasted great last night, but it all came back up. Had my first blended shake with protein powder, water and yogurt.

scheduled at Bajanor 6-20,
Has anyone been banded at Bajanor who can share their experience. I was sent an article saying that having the lap band done in Mexico is dangerous, because there is no one to follow up with, they don't give you pain meds, and they say they will us the inamed, but use another one. Can anyone help alleviate some of my fears?:help:
