Hi everyone wanted to let everyone know I had my surgery today around 12:30 Dr. Alvarez done an awesome job I am not having any pain at all have already got up to walk around so I am feeling pretty good. Good luck to everyone who are up next!

Hey all I am on day 4 of my pre op liquid diet surgery on the 9th. It was hard the first couple days but it is getting easier I have to keep reminding myself this is just one step in getting my life back on the right track. We can do this stay strong everyone.

It is better than I thought it would be I liked it.

Yes I am drinking shakes 1 to 2 a day broth or the unjury chicken soup for other meals jello and Popsicles in between for a snack.

Glad it's not just me I have been worrying about it.

For those of you on a liquid diet I have a question. How many calories are you getting in a day? I started my liquid diet on the 30th and have only been getting in around 400 calories a day is this normal or do I need to get in more calories. If I need more calories can anyone give me pointers on how to get more in please.

I start my liquid diet on Tuesday surgery on August 9th I can't believe it is so close. Good luck to everyone!

I hate you have to go alone I am scheduled the 9th with Dr. Alvarez hope you fine someone with the same day. I am lucky to have my mom going with if it wasn't for her I would be going alone I have 4 kids and hubby has to stay home with them. Best of luck to you

I am a self pay and have to do a 10 day pre-op liquid diet my Dr does his by BMI any patient with a BMI of 39 or higher has to do a pre-op diet and the higher your BMI is the longer pre-op diet you have. I am not looking forward to mine either. Stay strong you can do it

My pre op liquid diet is 10 days too not looking forward to it.

I am in the process of trying to figure out a good protein powder for my pre op diet as well as post op. What type protein powered did y'all use and did it taste good?

Hi all I am in Douglasville Ga and having my surgery in August with Dr. Alvarez in Mexico.

I am going to Dr. Alvarez in August cost is $8700 and my air fair is $120 round trip (used my air miles). My mom had her VSG with him and loved him and I have heard nothing but good things from others who used him. Good luck I hope you find the doctor who is right for you.

I am going to Mexico to Dr. Alvarez and I need a passport or a passport card I just applied for my passport card a week ago they told me it would take 4 to 6 weeks and my surgery is scheduled for August 9th.
