Thank You....i keep looking at my email and feel like the words Not approved are there and i just can't see them lol in other words my brain just doesn't want to accept that this is REAL and will happen in a week and 2 days ....even my daughter read the email to me this morning and said MOOOOM its Reeeeal get it through ur head and get it together you just have one more week and it'll be over and then recovery time and a year from now you will be a healthier, skinny, new you and sooo many people are gonna look at you in awe because of how much more beautiful you will be...... lol gotta ♥ my daughter =)

Oopps i meant *insurance

Wow i have so many mixed emotions right now i wanna scream, cry, laugh all of the above ....lol...my isurance coordinator emailed me yesterday telling me she was gonna submit my info to insurance and that we should know by tuesday next week but she just emailed me saying that i got Approved and am all set and ready for the 10th yiiiiikes it's feeling sooo real NOW .. =)....soooo Nervioooous!

Thanks everyone i really needed these words i couldn't hold it and broke down to cry myself after i put my kids to sleep but reading these posts have made me feel that i'm not alone and that others have already gone or are going through a similar situation. Even with my hubby i broke down 2 nights ago although i have 200% of his support he is even doing the liquid diet with me and even though he is not having surgery he says whatever you eat i will eat and i will stick to it till the end with you i ♥ him i ♥ everything he is doing for me, the other night as we were falling asleep i heard him say softly are you scared? I said yeeeeeees he said me toooo but he also said don't worry you'll be fine i am praying for you and am right here by your side don't feel alone, and yes it hasn't been easy with my kiddos but i think that now that i have explained that it's all for the better of my health they are accepting it atleast a bit, they wanna see me before and immediately after surgery they made that clear =) .......@Notime...i absolutely love your idea about giving them certain "jobs" to do so that they can help me get ready for this and after i am definately using this =)

I went in to get all my preop testing done today 3 hours ...smh....but everything is looking good so far for my surgery on the 10th just waiting on insurance approval which i was told yesterday i should know by tuesday if i got approved or not.....after feeling soo ready and calm about the whole thing my 9 year decided to ask questions of what type of surgery i was having and whyy? Of course i wanted to sit down and tell all 3 kids before my surgery but he overheard my daughter talking and had to ask and immediately starting crying, hugging me and telling me he doesn't want me to die :'( boy that just tore me apart i tried not to cry while watching him tell me all this it was sooo hard .....i did sit and explained everything to him and why mommy was having this done he seemed to understand but can't get that idea out of his head that someone can die from it so he is extremely sad but promised to pray for me every night and says he knows i am in God's hands .. :'((( talk about having second thoughts about the whole process now

So i just got the call confirming surgery dates for both my MIL and I and although we have dates set up we now await Insurance approval according to my doctors office we both should be fine with the insurance it just worries me because even though my BMI is 42 and i have PCOS and we both have hiatal hernias i keep having that thought that something will go wrong or that it won't be enough for the insurance to approve me =( They put me down for September 10th and my MIL will be on the 17th .....omggggg i am soooo nervous this is just around the corner so many thoughts and worries i just can't wait till its all over and done with my MIL in starting to talk like she wants to back out she wanted to try to cut through shortcuts and get out of her sleep apnea study and i kept telling her that even though i didn't have to have it done if the doc ordered it for her then its a must because i've read that it crucial for monitering her while in surgery if she does have it.....it's been such an emotional roller coaster between getting her appointments done and my own she doesn't speak english sooo i have to travel an hour to get both her appointments done and my own every time we have one sometimes i just wanna sit down in a corner and cry because its overwhelming its sooo much between all the appointments for both, homeschooling my babies 3 of them they start school tomorrow and church my husband and i are pastors =) sooo yeah got alot going on in my plate right now but at the same time am very excited! If anyone can tell me if a BMI of 42 and PCOS got them approved i'd greatly appreciate you sharing your story i know most likely it will be different insurances i just wanna have know if there is hope that i'll get approved? Hiii everyone they have me down for either the 10th or 11th i will get a definate answer of which day on monday the reason why it's not a set date yet between these two is because my Dr works in 2 different hospitals and the technology in 1 of them is more advanced so he does it with the Robot so they are trying to book my surgery to be robotic but if the robotic OR isn't available i will still have it done just regular Dr hands-on way sooo getting extremely nervous i too have 3 beautiful children and the worry of being that 1% is really getting to me, hubby asked me last night if i was scared i said yes very he said me too but he also said i know and have faith that you will be in God's hands which was very comforting too me =) anyways good luck 2 all of us i will post my exact date on monday even though today i was told that the 10th looks pretty much all set for me.

Well saw the surgeon today i was told surgery will be either 10th or 11th of September or the following week on the 17th or 18th i will be getting a call tommorow and they will tell exactly what day for sure because they are trying to get my mother in law and i in the robotic unit to have it done with the robot .....oh and both my MIL and I have hernias that will be repaired at the same time of surgery :/ that has me a little nervous

So after having all my tests done and waiting 4 weeks i finally go back 2morrow to see my surgeon again hopefully i get my surgery date i can't wait sooo excited, nervous, anxious =)

Hi everyone i'm from Brockton but having my surgery in B&W's in Boston i have already done all my tests and labs which suprisingly weren't alot now i will go in on the 22nd of this month to see my surgeon again hopefully i get my surgery date then i am getting anxious and nervious =) Good Luck everyone on your journey!

asdamato22...wow thanks for posting and sharing your story with me i greatly appreciate it. Like i've said b4 its good 2 know i'm not the only 1 feeling like this. Congrats btw on your surgery i am happy all went well that is always a plus =). I saw my surgeon went to all my appointments and now just waiting to see my surgeon again on the 22nd this month hoping i get my surgery date then, i am anxious and it feels like its soo far away yet i know its around the corner i feel much better as far as Nutrition info goes i got a load of info my NUT was really helpful. Now i just pray all goes well with insurance and then surgery. My labs already came back they told me everything looks great and my NUT said i no longer need to see her until after surgery because i am doing great as far as understanding the nutrition part of the surgery my upper GI also looked good \0/ ....i agree i too tried dieting in hopes of not having to have surgery but i just gained more or would just loose the max 15 lbs and then gain them all back and then some, my pcp recommended the wls and said that it needed to be done so here i am in the process =) i hope to read more about how you are feeling so please keep us updated i'd love to know how everything works out for you in the "loosers bench" that way i'll know what to expect take care and Congrats again!

Hi everyone, thanks for all the replies, support, and sharing your own thoughts and concerns. So i went to my first surgeon appointment today. My surgeon is just awesome great person explained everything that would go on before during and after surgery. He asked if i had any questions and my mind honestly went blank lol i told him i had been reading, getting informed and making sure i knew everything that had to do with these wls, his answer was i am always happy to hear my patients say they have done their research =) he asked which wls i was interested in i said the sleeve, he said good girl that is what i recommend for you. He ordered blood work got that done today, ordered an upper gi exam that'll be done next thursday, and i'll be seeing him again on August 22 to talk about the results and a date he said after these studies are done i should be all set to set my surgery date which will probably be sometime around September..OMGGGG its starting to feel real lol....Now i also went to the first NUT appointment today honestly i felt a little overwhelmed with all the info and how my life will change completely physically and nutrionally but its gonna be worth it because i also realized that ones we start getting used to the eating pattern after surgery it will all be somewhat easier especially after seeing that after stage 4 in nutrition we pretty much get to add most things back to our diet but much more carefully of course and in less portions. Anyways just wanted to update everyone this coming week i have 4 appointments and i should be all set until i see my surgeon for a date =)

Hi Tc and welcome to the newbies bench hopefully very soon we will be on the sleevers bench lol, thats great that you are on your way to your new healthy life =) one of the things that was worrying me was copay for insurance plus a fee that the hospital charges for the NUT program that they offer for lifetime and thank God i got a call today and everything is getting paid for so thats 1 less worry. Tommorow i'll be on my way to start with my appointments i know tonight i won't be able to sleep because of the excitement lol, hopefully the excitement stay this high throughout my journey, i have never considered wls before until i found out this year i had pcos although i suspected it for many years, when my doctor told me my symptoms were pretty bad and that i should consider wls i got scared at first, but then it started sinking in and i know its what i want, oh and my mother in law will be having wls as well around the same time as me atleast i'll have someone close to me that is going through the same thing and hopefully that can be of good support for each other. Please keep us posted of your surgery date and how everything goes, i'll do the same we can all support each other Congrats and Good Luck on your journey!
