  1. I am going to PNMC in SLP as well. I work in Edina and live in New Hope. I am just starting all my testing next week. I have BCBS of MN. How long did it take for insurance approval? I have Anthem through BCBS and my approval came in less than 1 week.
  2. I had Svendson and loved him! I chose first available because I wanted it done sooner rather than later. I had also heard he had a pretty good sense of humor and that is true. It's something I appreciate. Would highly recommend him to anyone. I was sleeved October 22, 2013. I'm down 84 pounds as of this morning. Love Candace my nurse, and most of the nuts are excellent too. I've had a great experience at PN, and I've been giving my 110% effort each and every step of the way. I only wish I had had it done sooner. I also went through Park Nicollet and it's been a super positive experience. Dr. Jones did my surgery and I loved him. I've heard great things about both surgeons though. I'm 7 months post surgery and down 98 since surgery, 116 since my first program visit in March 2013. I agree with gomekast, wish I had done it sooner.
  3. Did you have any luck with Poshmark? I cleaned out my closet and am not sure if I should donate it all or try some of the items on Poshmark. Was it worth the time posting them or should I donate?
  4. 41 lbs is awesome! You're doing great! I'm right with you though, it's hard seeing all the speedy losers.
  5. I finally broke my stall. Whew, almost 3 weeks of doing nothing or gaining a couple of lbs, I finally saw the scale move! During the stall I was up a few lbs. and now this morning I was down, actually down .8 from my lowest prior to the stall. I am hoping I will keep losing now. How's everyone else doing?
  6. Thanks for the nice words. I wish you the best too. It's so nice to have every bodies support. I think this group of 7/30 sleevers is the greatest.
  7. I'm experiencing my first stall and it bites! I knew it was coming and know it will pass but I am particularly pouty this morning as I hopped on the scale and am up almost 4 lbs. WTH! It was about 2 a couple of days ago and I was not expecting this. I feel a little bloated so I hope it's water weight. I am going to try to drink extra water, really watch what I'm eating and stay off the scale for a few days. It's hard for me, I've always wanted to self destruct when I've slowed in weight loss in the past. I already feel myself craving stuff I shouldn't have. It's way too early in the game for me to start playing these mind games with myself. Sleeve sisters send your strength my way.
  8. I can get my fingers around my wrists again! I also can no longer rest my laptop on my tummy. I have to say that the tummy desk is kind of missed. I will gladly trade it for a flat stomach though!
  9. Where are the ketosis strips located at Walmart?
  10. I meet with my nut on Friday. I'll have to go in with my armor on.
  11. I had Dorothy for my other visits and I'm sure you could ask to stay with her with her when you schedule. I'm doing well. I struggle some with eating. I just have no desire and nothing sounds good. Otherwise I'm doing great. I did not have a pain pump at the hospital. They have meds via IV and the later started me on liquid oxycodone. I was lucky and had minimal pain. I had some nausea but minimal pain. I'm sure you'll do great.
  12. I have also been experimenting. I have had hard boiled eggs, soups with chunks, non-pureed meat, saltines, melon and a few other items. I have been struggling with eating, no desire, nothing tastes good, so I really just needed to find stuff to eat. Thinner1Day said it best, listen to your sleeve. I find that I stop as soon as I start to feel full or uncomfortable. Also, eat slow! I had one incident that made me think about that more when eating.
  13. Almost there! I saw you met with Dorothy. I have had her too, liked her. She is very straight to the point and helpful. I go back Friday for my 1 month follow up but I'm not scheduled with her this time.
  14. I'm not eating much at all. I can only eat 1-2 oz and often struggle with that. I still have bouts of nausea so smells and thoughts of eating do not appeal to me. I'm starting to worry that this will be all I can take in.
  15. I'm excited for you! The sleep study gets scheduled quickly. I think they bump you up since its part of the bariatric program. What slowed me up is if you do have signs of apnea and get a Cpap of Apap machine you need 3-4 weeks of data and then you meet to go over that. Overall though, even with the sleep stuff, it still seemed to go quickly. If you don't need the study you'll zip through pretty quickly. Let me know how it goes next week. Yea, so excited to have another sleeve buddy.
  16. I went to Park Nic. I have been very happy with the program. The appts may vary some depending on you insurance but it took me about 3 months to get through. I had to go for the sleep study so it would have gone quicker if I didn't have to do that. Let me know how the appts go.
  17. I too went in thinking band instead. I did not know about vertical Sleeve and when they explained it at my initial meeting it took me just a day or so to change my mind. I was sleeved 7/30 so am fairly new but I am liking it so far. For the results I needed and wanted the sleeve was a much better choice for me. Best of luck to you!
  18. I bet that was music to your ears. Work it girl!
  19. Its good to hear updates. I am doing pretty good. I went back to work today and am kind of soar. I've had to take Tylenol 3 times today and I was down to once a day and sometimes not at all. I have a desk job so certainly don't overdo anything so not sure why the pain was up today. I did get sick after eating tonight. I think it was because I ate too fast. Overall though I can't complain, I am feeling pretty ok. 3 weeks down! Great job everyone!
  20. Thanks everyone for the great advice. I think talking to her is the right thing to do. I appreciate your help and encouraging words.
  21. Thanks for the help. I have kind of played that conversation out in my head. I am a pretty straight forward person so I'm sure it will come up. I just hope I stay composed. I work with her so will see her Monday. I return to work Monday and this is just making me want to return less. I am currently looking for a new job and am worried that once I hopefully find a new job I will lose contact with her.
  22. I am so pissed at one of my besties right now. At least I thought she was one of my better friends prior to surgery. She was kind of weird prior to surgery, didn't ask much about it or anything. Now almost 3 weeks post op she has texted my sister once to see how I was and called me once. The call to me was about work. We had planned to get together for a pedicure today and I woke up this morning to a cancellation text. WTH! I only told a handful of family members and 3 of my friends about the surgery. One of my friends I rarely talk to but she has taken time out of her crazy schedule to call me multiple times to check in. The one I talked to daily has called me once. I'm pissed! I'm not trying to be a baby but does she not care I had major surgery? She is also overweight so I think maybe she is jealous of my decision to better myself. She is also going through a divorce now so I know she's stressed but come on. I have been supportive of her 3 year separation/divorce proceedings so I think a little how are you doing would be nice. I'm sure others have experienced similar stories and I'd love to hear them. I'm hoping a rally of my Sleeve Buddies will help me simmer down some. I'm sure my angry feelings will turn to sadness soon. (Sorry my rants so long)
  23. I think some others touched on this too but keep in mind that any loss is improving your health. My goal weight is still not in the normal range but my PCP agrees that it would be a good weight for me. I'm not going for skinny, just healthy. The overall picture is you will feel better and improve your health. Best of luck to you on your journey, we are all rooting for you.
