  1. I was up to week 5 and I had a 5K I signed up for on Sunday...I ended up running the whole thing and finished in 40:04! That's amazing for me! Used to take me 1/2hr to walk a mile!
  2. Woo hoo! Just passes my Memorial Day goal! Today I weigh 219.2....can't believe I'm in the 'teens'!!
  3. I don't think that's true- I am almost 3 months out and I do feel hunger which is when I know to eat. THe difference I feel After surgery is hay I feel full and know when to stop. I am down about 69lbs.
  4. I totally have a problem with lettuce and tomatoes now! I use to LOVE salads and now I don't enjoy lettuce or tomatoes at all! I thought it was just me. Honestly, i never lost 5lbs a week after surgery. The most I've lost was one week I lost 4, but for the most part I lose 1-3lbs a week and I'm ok with that whether someone says that's slow or not, I don't care cause I'm happy
  5. Ugh I've been waiting to do the color run, I thought they were going to do it in August! I just booked that weekend to visit my friend in NC otherwise I totally would be in! I'd love to meet up with some local sleevers! I am doing the Susan g komen tomorrow downtown Philly. Also, I am signing up for the Mudarella in August if you or anyone else is up for a challenge!!!
  6. I've had no problem adjusting to anything. I still can eat anything, just less of it. Obviously I aim for healthy, protein choices but sometimes I don't. Why? Because I'm human but I feel so good, I will never allow myself to go back the way I felt before! Ever!
  7. I went through a 2 week slump- didn't eat right and didn't exercise...no idea why but I really just had to ride it out. Got back on track and now I'm consistently trying to get my 10,000 steps in, and I am on a 21day no junk food fast
  8. I went to Mexico alone in February. Went to the OCC with dr Ortiz. I don't regret my decision at all. I had the best care I've ever received at a hospital while in Mexico. Would do it again in a heart beat. I spoke with Gloria as my coordinator and she was more than helpful. I emailed questions for months before actually booking my appt. then when I was ready to schedule my appt, they offered me a surgery date a week and a half later! Yikes! I wasn't ready for that soon! Lol I would say you'd probably be able go get an appt in June. No supervised weight loss required, just. 3 day to 2 week liquid diet depending on your starting weight. I did research for a year on dr Ortiz and a other dr....ironically, I can't even remember the name of the other dr I was researching. I am not even 3 months out and down a total of 67.4lbs since January and I feel fantastic!
  9. 5/2/14 222.8 Down 2lbs this week! I can't believe how close I am to being under 220! I haven't been under 220 in SO long!
  10. We may have different starting weights which could explain it maybe? I'm now down 35lbs since surgery. Slow, but I will take it! Every day is a challenge, focusing on getting my protein, water and I have really kicked up my exercise.
  11. At first I was thinking I'm a slow loser...but really I had to think, when have I ever lost 35lbs in less than 3 months? Pretty much never! Good job on your losing!!
  12. So here's my update- surgery was 2/17. Total lost pre-op was 30 and I am down 35 since surgery. Feeling fantastic! Just ran a mile today in 13:34!!!
  13. I'm the same way...have to do a pic to see it! Same for the weight loss too. I was sleeved 2/17 and most times I lose 2lbs, I don't often lose more than that a week but last week I lost 4lbs!
  14. Thats awesome and i think its a great idea to get a head start. my surgery was 2/17/14 and i started preparing myself in october when i signed my paperwork and got my surgery date. i started making small changes like substituting 1 meal for a protein shake. i bought all kinds of protein shakes to find ones that i really liked. i stopped drinking soda and alcohol...i believe thats what led my post-op diet to not be as challenging. i didnt think the pre-op was too bad either. i dont lose as much as other people, but i am happy with my weight loss. i feel great and have no complaints about my decision, it was the best decision i ever made!
  15. That's awesome, and very encouraging for Someone like me in the beginning stages of c25k! I will have to look up the chi running style- never heard of it but my knees are kinda bad tll
  16. Lost almost 3lbs! 4/21 227.6 4/28 224.8 I'm a happy camper! I am officially what I weighed 10 years ago when I finished my sophomore year of college. I weighed 194 going into my freshman year, weighed 210 finishing freshman year, and weighed 225 finishing sophomore year. I still can't believe it, it feels unreal.
  17. I'm still in my first year, but if I were u, I would go back to basics. Go back to a protein shake/liquid Diet for a week or 2. Maybe go back to your nutritionist?
  18. I had the same situation as kindle- wls was excluded from my policy, no matter what conditions I have, surgery won't be covered. I also made the decision to go to Mexico in February. Best decision I ever made- I did my research and was confident in the dr I picked. There are risks with any surgery no matter where you go but I have to say, I had such a good hospital/dr experience. I went to Mexico alone for the surgery, only told ppl on here and 2 friends. I was treated SO well, it was almost like I was in a hotel. I'm already considering going back to Mexico for plastic surgery on my arms or thighs.
  19. I went to Mexico for my surgery- I did my research, my dr was fantastic and I had one of the best hospital experiences of my life. I go back to my local hospital for follow up and they have no problem doing follow up, knowing my surgery was in Mexico. We aren't all lucky to have insurance that covers WLS. I couldn't afford $18,000 in cash at my local hospital.
  20. Same for me- most of my followers are fellow WLS ppl, but I have some friends and family on there that don't know I've had surgery.
  21. I had my surgery in feb, turned 30 in April. I'm down 62lbs so far including pre-op and I'm feeling amazing! I just may feel better in my 30s than I did in my 20s! Also just added u on Instagram
  22. Just added u all on fitbit- u can only add ppl not in your contact list via the website- otherwise, u can add them to ur contact list and then add them
  23. Met my goal for the easter challenge...hoping to meet my goal for Memorial Day challenge. Weight on 4/21: 227.6 Goal for Memorial Day: 220 I ready know I'm in a stall...but still hoping I can drop this 8lbs!
  24. Phoenix, do u go to the support groups at Abington?
  25. Congratulations! I live in glenside! Was sleeved 2/17
