  1. I heard the 30 day rule too but was told by the surgeon's office it is not the case (St Vincent's). They scheduled my pre-op testing but haven't scheduled my surgery. I even called to check and told them that there is a chance (depending on the earliest surgery date I can get) I may not do surgery until October and didn't want to have to redo testing. She assured me I wouldn't have to. Maybe every surgeon is different in what they want?
  2. Roxanne- I think I remember! How is your process going?
  3. Good Luck bryjohn!!
  4. I had my gallbladder out in 2004 and have had no issues or side effects at all. I am still pre-sleeve so I can't speak for after, but Basically I can't even tell its gone.
  5. They just scheduled me and sent me a letter. I was surprised...was expecting a phone call to discuss scheduling. Once you get the letter it gives you a number to call if you need to change anything. I was hoping for June also...but not looking like I'm going to make it. In that case you may beat me to getting sleeved. I am getting married Sept 1st and I have July 1 as a cutoff date for myself. If I have it closer than 2 months before my wedding, if be really worried I'd feel like crap that day and on my honeymoon. I wish I would have started the process sooner. Oh well . I'll have it in October at the latest! I'm sure scheduling for the different surgeons is different but I'll let you know how long after my pre-op I get scheduled so you'd have some idea! Let me know when you get scheduled for pre-op too!
  6. That's great newme!! So we are pretty much at the same point! After getting my insurance approval, I received a letter in the mail with my scheduled pre-op dates....the letter came about a week after I spoke with Shalanda. Which surgeon are you using?
  7. Newme- I have been to one in Speedway...I've thought about checking out the one in Avon and also one of the ones at St Vs. are you pre or post surgery?
  8. Thanks for the info graylola! Sounds like from previous posts you're doing pretty good...congrats! How are you feeling overall? What support group(s) do you go to around town? And you liked Dr Diaz? I've only met him the one time briefly but he came highly recommended!
  9. History and physical. I think typically everything is in one day but for some reason mine is split into two. When you say the 25th was that your surgery day?
  10. Thanks All for the feedback! Sounds like everyone I doing really well! I know there are risks and complications with any surgery but its good to hear all the encouraging stories!
  11. Hi all! I'm from Indy! Having the sleeve (hopefully soon) with Dr Diaz at StV in Carmel. I have my pre-op testing on May 24th and H & P June 3rd. From your experience, how soon after the testing were you scheduled for surgery?
  12. Thanks for the feedback everyone! I am 34yo and weigh 350lbs. The flight to Ireland is about 6.5 hours. (Live in Indiana). And I actually have literally everything done for the wedding. I am a planner and don't like to have stuff in limbo so all decisions have been made and everything purchased
  13. So I am waiting on a surgery date and I'd like to ask all of those that have had surgery this. Based on your recovery, how were you feeling about 2-2.5 months post-op? I think the earliest I can have my surgery will be mid-June and I am getting married Sept 1st an leaving for Ireland the next day! I'm not concerned about being able to eat cake or drink at the wedding...I just want to know if I will feel well? I have made the decision to have the surgery and since I've made the decision, I'm ready to plow ahead. If I don't have it pre-wedding, it won't be until late October. So I'm looking for opinions. My surgeon and the dietician as well a bariatrian I have been seeing all think I will be fine, but I want the opinions of people that have gone thru it. Again, I know I will be extremely limited on what I can eat an I've already talked to the dietician about taking Protein options to Ireland. But at 2-2.5 months, how did you feel?
