I went through the Southwest Bariatric clinic in Round Rock. Dr Marquez is extremely compassionate. She puts it to you straight though. I like her.

Southwest Bariatric in Austin is decent. However they do more then just bariatric surgeries. There is a place called True Results in Austin as well that specializes in bariatric surgeries. I had a co-worker go through True Results and liked them. Not all insurance carriers will cover them though. Most insurance requires you to go through a center of excellence and the only center of excellence in Austin is Saint David's Hospital. Have you checked in Temple at the Scott and White? Or is Mary Harden Baylor still around? I'm not sure what programs are available in Killeen.

Shelly definitely have your steak. That's a lot of Protein. nothing wrong with starting at 3 weeks. That will give you time to detox from the caffeine and carbs. The first week or so will be rough but you can do it. Keep your eye on the prize and stay focused. You reminded me that I had lost my commitment to logging my intake with everything my family has had going on the in the last couple months. I decided it was time to start again. I didn't get my walking in on Sunday or Monday but my focus is back today. My 5k is less than 2 weeks away. My goal is to complete it in under 60 minutes walking.

Everyone, myfitnesspal username is jeanneatherley. Started logging again today. Feel free to add me if you'd like. I walked a few minutes today with my 5lb weights. Boy can I feel a difference between them and my 3lb weights. Every little bit helps.

T25
Super annoyed. We FINALLY ordered the T25 and the mail delivery guy put it in the wrong lock box. One of my dishonesty neighbors got a nice little freeby. I've been patiently waiting for them to do the right thing and walk out over to us. But it's been days now. Guess the post office gets a complaint filed. Not that it matters. They didn't appear too apologetics when I talked to them about it over the weekend. What does it matter to them that they have away $120 of our money.

It's the little things.... Tell me yours! :)
Sitting with my legs crossed is the most amazing thing. Makes me feel feminine for a change. Buying a Sun dress that was NOT in the plus section.

Looking for a Sleeve Buddy in Austin, TX
How exciting. How's the pre-op diet going? Nervous is normal. I had butterflies in my stomach and was on pins and needles for days before my surgery. I can be available tomorrow if either of you guys want to meet up. Send me a private message and I will be happy to give you my phone #. You can call or text me. Let me know what's good for you and lets see if we can't get together for a hour or so.

I would definitely be interested in coffee and a chat. The weekend would be most convenient for me and I'd be willing to drive into town if it's more convenient for you. Where are you having your surgery? Who's your surgeon? I had mine at St David's and my surgeon is Dr Nancy Marquez.

I'm in Round Rock. I'm 7 months post op. Down 104lbs so far. Still have another 45 or so to go.

Did you have heel spurs or plantar fasciitis...
Yes, I had plantar fasciitis prior to surgery. I got good quality orthotic inserts just prior to surgery to help so I could work out better. I've lost over 100lbs and between the two my plantar fasciitis has completely resolved. I think it was a combination of the two. It also helped that in the beginning all the pain meds I was on (low pain tolerance) helped relive some pain in my feet to help get me started on my walking.

I Can't Wait To Not Have To...
Got my sleeve 8/27 so I'm 6 months out now. I'm down 97lbs since the start of the process. Some of the great changes are. -I am now able to exercise regularly. I'm walking at least 4 miles a day. -I can keep up in Pilates -I can run with my son -I can cross my legs and I do every chance I get. -I am not ruled by my hunger -I can wear heels -I bought a knee length dress and it looks pretty good on me. -I can sit in a booth at a restaurant without being uncomfortable. -I can lay down in my tub and take a bath -I can clean and cook for hours with out being exhausted. -best of all - I can lift and carry my four year old son without being winded.

T25
I still have not gotten this program but I'm still intrigued. Almost 6 months out now. 93 lbs down. I'm currently working on running a 5k in April.

feeling resigned
Texas is nice and warm most of the time too :-) Thanks ladies. Not many people can relate to me post sleeve. They either want to give me dieting advise or ask really personal questions about my weight loss. I usually meet friends through my employment but that seems harder now too. They all saw me fat and lazy. I'm still fat but not nearly as lazy but that mind set is still there with my co-workers. I'd love to get to know some of the moms of my kids friends but it seems like after all this time I should be on good terms with them. But the only one of my daughter's friend that's come around her mom only speaks Spanish and I only speak English. We can communicate enough to insure each other our kids will be fine at which ever house they are at or which ever activity they are doing but we've never been able to have a real conversation. My sons in daycare and at the time I get there it's usually the dad's picking up. As nice as some of the dad's are in sure my husband might frown on me getting too friendly. I thought about the gym but I don't technically belong to one (do my workout at work during my breaks or at home). I wish I could go to support group meetings. That would be the best place to interact with other wls moms but again scheduling is an issue. At night during the week is not an option for me and they don't have any on the weekends here. Oh well, I'm just in a woe is me mood. Can't wait for my hubby to get home so we can eat dinner and all go to the park for an evening walk.

feeling resigned
I've come to the decision that I need new friends. All my closest and dearest friends are hours away from me. The closest thing to friends in my area is a woman that I used to work with and her partner. I had always thought they were relatively nice under their bitterness. But here lately I'm getting strange feelings from them. They never want to get together to do anything anymore claiming they don't feel well and when I'm on the phone or even posting something on Facebook I receive a lecture about how I should be doing that particular thing another way. Its irritating me. I'm sorry but if you have never actually raised a kid you have no business telling a mother of two how to raise hers. And if the only thing you have to do every day is clean your house then I don't care how tired you are afterwards when I just worked an 8+ hour day and am in the middle of cooking supper for a family of 4 and I still have my own housework, kids homework, bedtime routine and a work out to do before I get to go to bed. And I really don't care what you think about what or how I cook for my family when your not the one that has to deal with 4 different dietary needs and taste preferences. I need to find some active family oriented friends that can relate to my life and not someone who wants to be a know it all on things they know nothing about. Sorry, rant over. Thank you. I know this is not exactly weight loss related but I have no where else to rant on this topic.

low carb pancakes
So I made these low carb pancakes for dinner with some turkey bacon. They turned out pretty good. When I put them into myfitnesspal it's showing 20 calories per cake but not as much Protein as I'd have liked. 1.2 grams per cake. They tasted good though.
