  1. Thanks everyone for your ideas/comments :-) I've been off for a while and haven't seen all updates as I'm now day 5 post op.
  2. Oh thanks lady's ???? in my lack of sleep last night i also have a light bulb moment, I had one shot a day in the stomach to prevent blood clotting, which must be a blood thinner and might also contribute. Glad you guys said normal as I did get worried there for a bit
  3. Wow that is truly amazing, nice work! I have your figure that you had before starting. I'm 5 days post op and you just got me excited bout it all again. Thank you This is a great forum/app
  4. Australia, Victiria is go in Friday, come out Tuesday; including first night in intensive care.
  5. I was so please to see this women's section as didn't want to freak out the men or women not wanting to help with this question. I'm 5 days out of surgery today and at home once again, yay. However on day 3 I had some bleeding and nurse found unusual and asked about my period. As I explained to her I have the rod in my arm and have not had a period for about 18mths. Day 4 only one occurrence of spotting, mentioned to nurse again and the tested urine with not much found. Now day 5 I have normal (light for most) period (I'm guessing). Anybody else had something like this were they didn't get periods and did soon after surgery? How do I know if I should be concerned? Thank you, awkward but means heaps
  6. Thanks Louise I did see miso soup on the list but in all honesty I've never had it and wasn't sure if it was tin or dry soup or homemade. Need to look into that
  7. Thank u, I think was just a bad day, I will do this. Will power, but is hard
  8. Hey I got told I can have drinking yogurt and anything that goes through a straw. I hate the shakes makes me dry reach so I'm on the bars pre op and my dad made me heaps of soups and I froze them in tiny containers. Also brought a cheap magic bullet type machine at big w for bout $40 so I can make my own shakes with banana and skim milk. Dietitian recommended that :-)
  9. Hi guys, I've done a full week of the strict intense phase optifast diet, lost 4 kilos in that week which is great but I'm soo moody and no energy. Calories are about 600 per day. I can feel I'm close to breaking diet. What did u guys do? Did any of you fail from feeling like crap? How long til my energy start getting back to normal?
  10. I have not had my surgery but has taken an aweful lot of will power doing first week of intense optifast diet (lost 4kg in this week). I won't lie it's been SUPER hard, but I'm stubborn and will do this. I researched before I choose on surgery and read a common factor for people who have been previously banded and then sleeved is that they loose ALOT slower. This is what I constantly read. I'm seing a fantastic psychologist working on mindfulness and emotional eating, might be an idea for extra help and support? You have come this far and 20 kilos is still awesome, don't compare to others even though u so desperately want better results, our bodies are all different and we all have our own barriers. Keep at it and stay strong. All the best
  11. That is awesome. Well done. I'm new to this site and would like to ask u if you have any loose skin? I'm quite worried bout this. You can message me back if you prefer, still working on learning this app
  12. Wow you look great. How's it feel now (within yourself?)
  13. I think touch wood it maybe improving
  14. I really would like to know if anyone else has had side effects from optifast. I'm on day 4 and daily routine is 2 optifast bars, 1 optifast choc moose and a cup of allowed veggies. And I for past two nights have had severe wind pain, (sorry but) the runs at night. Pain quite bad that I've had 2 nurophin and I'm going to try sleep off again with electric blanket. Woke fine today and fine all day. Now happening again. Any clues?
  15. That was great motivation. Just need to work out how to save it so when barreling I can read :-)
  16. May 24th here, want it to hurry up really
  17. Just wanted to say thanks to. I like knowing what I'm in for. Already have bad wind pain on optifast diet pre op so imagining ill have bad after as well.
