  2. Almost! I had initially intended to choose him, but something happened with his seminar and it got cancelled, so there wouldn't be another one until a month or so later. I was too impatient because I knew I'd be waiting six months already as it was, so I went to the first available seminar for St. Paul Surgeons and it happened to be Dr. Kelly. I knew about ten minutes after he started talking that it must have been fate, cause I can't imagine a better fit for me. I got sleeved on July 24th at United and went home the next day. I'm having serious troubles with getting my liquids in right now though!
  3. I was sleeved on the 24th, anyone relatively close to my date still having issues with dehydration? I get dehydrated so I feel nauseous which makes me not want to eat or drink, which means I'm not getting in nearly what I should.. I talked to my surgeon about it at 2wks post op and he sent me in to get some IV fluids. I felt pretty decent, but it's creeping up on me again. Flavored water is easier to get down than regular, but man I am so sick of sweet between the water and shakes. I'm on soft foods btw if that makes a difference.
  4. Sleeved 7/24, down 28lbs pre op and 23.5 post op... I'm happy for the loss, for sure, but I'm getting really sick of feeling sick all the time! Can't wait to just feel 'normal'.

  14. I haven't had surgery yet, but personally I plan to be open & honest about it, because it's too hard for me to keep up a story - I get confused about who I told what. That being said, if someone straight up asks me how I'm losing weight, I'm going to say something along the lines of, "Lots of healthy eating & exercise. I also had a vertical sleeve gastronomy done." For some reason, there's a lot of people who will get super judgey if you answer simply, weight loss surgery.
  15. I had to do a six month pre op diet for my insurance, and my last visit for that is on Thursday! After that I need to talk to the surgeon, submit to insurance, and then schedule a date. It's comin' up!
  16. LOL! If only!
  17. I am SO happy to have found this thread! This was a question I didn't even know I wanted answered haha. If all goes well my sleeve should be coming in June (Late May if I get REALLY lucky!) and watermelon is my summer staple. Can't imagine going without it!
  18. AMAZING! That's seriously so epic, great job!
  19. Looks like tomorrow is the big day! Good luck 8)

  24. Running and yoga. I can do yoga already, but I can't bend as far as I know I can because fat's in the way! As for running... oh my poor knees haha.
