    Gluten free sleevers?

Are there any sleevers out there who have to follow a gluten-free diet? If so, are there any tips and suggestions that you might be willing to share.
  3. Thank you for that. I have time restraints, as my husband works out of state, so having other providers is a great asset. I kind of figured that Dr. Kim's office will be busy, first of all it was exceptionally hard to get the patient advocate on the phone. We played phone tag for days, until finally we started corresponding by email. Then once we got in contact they only had one day availiable for the initial consult , ie. the 24th, then the next availiability was in mid July and my husband would be away.
  4. I have my first appointment with the nurse practitioner on the 24th June. I am so excited to get started. Let me know how the appointments go. I wish you the best of luck for this journey. I am hoping to get things done as soon as possible. I am ready!
  5. Mamachef , I'm excited for you!! Let me know how it goes for you. I will keep you in my prayers.
  6. Your NSV made me giggle! It will be intersting to see how poeple will act around me once things get started. Now it is just a waiting game until we move to Florida. It just cannot come fast enough.
  7. I have tried what seems like every diet known to mankind. They work for a while but then I end up gaining all the weight back, along with some extra ones after a few months. I am looking forward to be able to go on rides with my kids without the fear of embarassing them by not fitting in the seat! Oh to be able to buy clothes from a regular store!!! Congratulations on your weight loss journey so far! Do you see any difference on how people treat you now that you are slimmer?
  8. Thank you for the info. We are moving to Florida in mid June, and I am hoping to get started on the tests and such as soon as we are settled. I am planning to go to the gym provided by Dr Kim's program at Celebration. I am so looking forward to get started that I can hardly contain myself sometimes. I am not telling anyone in my family, except my husband of course, as I know that they will judge me as lazy and say that we are wasting the money on something that is not necessary. If my in-laws where to know that we are paying just under $18k for me to loose weight, I know that we will never hear the end of it, so I just do not want to be put myself or my husband in that position.
  9. Thank you for replying!! It is so hard to find honest, first hand information about Dr. Kim and Celebration hospital. I went to the information seminar and obviously everything that we were told was positive, so I appreciate any information that you might give me about your experience. What was your pre-op diet like? Are there any hints that you can give me to help me with the liquid phase of it? How is your journey going? Do you attend the monthly meetings?

    Gluten free sleevers?

I'm basically looking for any tips that can help me adjust to life with a sleeve while keeping in mind my gluten sensitivity. Most of the recipes and shakes that I see, has some sort of gluten in there, so I was curious about my fellow gluten-free sleevers how they dealt with it. Maybe some brand name of protein shake that is GF and also tastes good.

    Any orlando sleevers?

I will be relocating to the Orlando area at the end of June. I am planning to get sleeved at Celebration Hospital by Dr. Kim. I will be self pay as my insurance sucks and will not pay for any of it. I am hoping to be sleeved by the end of the year, hopefully earlier, all depends on my home builder as I would like to be settled into the new house before having to recover from surgery.

    thyroid and wls?

This is the thread that I have been looking for. I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease about 1 year ago. My doc has me on this gluten free regiment, I have been feeling much better without the gluten, but I have had some concerns about having WLS with a thyroid issue. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Hey all, I'm not yet sleeved, have made the decision to have surgery as soon as we finish relocating between states. My question to all is this, did anyone of you have any cravings or maybe notice you apetite get out of hand? I find eating like a crazy person. I will be paying for the surgery out of pocket since my insurance sucks and will not pay for any of it, I am looking to be sleeved by the end of this year, I am just so fearful that I will end up becoming so much bigger before I start this process.
