  1. Good luck to everyone getting sleeved today! I will see you on the other side.
  2. Sorry to hear that your recovery is not going well right now.
  3. I was sleeved June 3 and have not stop posting since then. The VST forum has been helpful for me and I want to be able to give back by sharing my experience. And today I had my first taste of puréed foods, 2oz. Yay! Very yummy!
  4. Akmys 11, glad to hear you made it to the losers bench.
  5. It's true, this is not like any other surgery. I thought I would have difficulty getting out of bed, laying on my side, walking. But I don't , which is awesome. Pain is very minimal , if anything I'm just sore. My biggest hurdle is regaling what my full is and to get my stomach and brain to work together.
  6. I'm good akmys11. Received some Breakfast this morning, walked a lap, sitting in a chair, pain pump was removed. I might be going home today. How are you doing?
  7. Good luck to everyone getting sleeved today! I was sleeved on monday. So far I have no regrets.
  8. brb Breakfast is served
  9. From what I can see, my incisions may be less than an inch across. I was sitting here in amazement as to how I haven't eaten since Sunday, and I do feel like I need to chew someone's leg off. If anything I think I have a little head hunger that I battle with from time to time. Today I am sitting in a chair and have done my first lap of the day. I was told that I would be receiving a pitcher of Water with a straw ( which should take about 5 hrs to drink), juice, and broth. If I'm able to tolerate them, I might be discharge today or tomorrow. The nurse just removed my pain pump and I will be receiving oral pain meds. I have surprised myself as to how well I'm doing and reminding myself not to over do it. Because I am healing from a major surgery. I feel blessed to have found this forum, the opportunity to increase my quality life, and to have people (that understand )to share this journey with and get support and advice
  10. You will do great, wishing you a speedy recovery. I was sleeved yesterday.
  11. Akmys 11, im wishing you good luck on your surgery today and I will be thinking about you.
  12. I was seriously nauseated in recovery and my mouth was drier than the desert. I did have a burning sensation in stomach but that soon went away. I'm up siting in a chair this morning, virtually no pain, just pressure from some gas. They will be starting on fluids today and removing my foley. I do have a drain in also. I think I have about 5 incisions with 4 of them covered with steri strips and band aids . The fifth has a big bandage and I'm thinking maybe that's where they removed my stomach and it is also where the drain is.
  13. I did receive a shot of lidocaine before the IV was placed. I also had some medicine I had inhale through my mouth to numb my throat, that way my throat would not be sore after surgery. And my throat isn't sore. Mouth extremely dry. I will be starting my liquids at 6 am
  14. Doctor just came in, waiting for anesthesiologist to come in and then off to surgery
  15. Got my IV
  16. I have the same pair and also waiting to get my IV. And waiting to tinkle in a cup
  17. Good luck to your daughter on this special day.
  18. I've been up for 3 hrs already. The anticipation is killing me. I have triple checked my bag for the hospital and cleaned everything at home twice. Just ready to go to the next step of this new journey
