  1. Thanks for the advice. As a child of alchoholics and person who who has food addiction issues, I could see how this could happen easily.
  2. I feel the same but on the other side of surgery as preop. This blog has calmed my fears and helped me to pursue what is best for me. Your post was awesome and I can't wait for my surgery next Monday.
  3. Yay! Looking great! I can't weight for my surgery next week! LOL. I hope I do as well as you!
  4. Wow, what a difference! I am 242 and surgery next week. Would love to lose around 40 in a few months. Can you share what you have been eating and exercise?
  5. After I started getting serious about going ahead with the sleeve, I started getting horrible gallbladder attacks. I am full of gallstones. I am glad it acted up now because I am getting both at the same time. Everyone I have known with WLS has had to have it after.
  6. I was worried too. Had mine on 07/02 and it was a piece of cake. They gave me Propofol. Makes you feel really sleepy and then your out and then you wake up. Very easy. Felt a little groggy when I woke up but after 10 minutes I was fine and walked out and went to Starbucks
  7. Ok thanks. I am glad. I was starting to think it was me. I already had a sleep study in January and I am having my gallbladder removed at the same time so I had already done CT scans. Can't wait til this part is over.
  8. Ooh yay! Keep in touch! What are your stats? I think it would be neat to find someone with similar proportions having surgery around the same time. I am 5 foot 4 and 246 pounds. Can't wait for what lies ahead
  9. I am July 29th too!!!! Yay us!
  10. My surgery is scheduled on July 29th! My surgeon does not require a pre-op diet however I would like to know what yours consists of because I might do it anyway. Thanks
  11. So since I have had my consult with my surgeon, I have had many many appointments... I am interested to see if all these appointments is what is being expected of others on this site. I will list below. Nutrition Evaluation - 1 hour Psych Evaluation - 2 hour Upper endoscopy Pre-op lab work EKG, Chest X-ray, Pulmonary function test, ABG Cardiology Consult Pulmonary Consult Medical Clearance with PCP Pre-op Education class Pre- admitting visit at hospital a week before surgery I think that's everything Is this what everyone else is going through????
  12. I wish you all the luck in the world!! Do you go to any support groups? Maybe some single Ladies in the crowd there that would like someone that knows what they have been through?? Just a thought! I hope you start feeling better soon. Your girl was probably jealous of all the attention you were getting and feeling insecure about herself??
  13. It's amazing how specialized medicine has become, most general doctors just have no clue. The weird thing I am noticing is that my surgeon wants me to see my primary again before surgery, it's on their to do list. I don't see why, she didn't refer me, doesn't support it and frankly doesn't care. When I asked them for my weight history over the past two years, they just scribbled it on my request letter. Really professional!
  14. You look great! What is your starting weight, current weight and height???
  15. You look great and so happy! Beautiful new clothes! I love seeing these pics, I am preop, same height and at 246. What an inspiration!
  16. Ooh, I don't know the answer but my husband is from Brazil. I am sure it would be less expensive and they are world renowned for plastic surgery in Rio de Janeiro. I am posting because I want to see if anyone responds with first hand knowledge. Have you ever been there?
  17. I agree so much! I am going to drink as much broth as I can stand and then some. I am hoping I will be repulsed by non healthy foods and can just feel full for once in my life.
  18. Hope I didn't upset you. I thought it was a typo. Congrats on the weight loss!
