  1. I will be 4 weeks post op on Monday. I do usually hit the 64oz mark for water but always have a minimum of 48oz daily. My proteins have been high but calories are not as high as they should be I guess. This past week I was getting between 750 and 900 calories a day. I eat something every few hours or have a protein shake. I wonder where I should be calorie wise at 4 weeks out? I go in next week for my 1 month post op visit so I will make sure to ask. I feel great every day, just not sure about this past week.
  2. Wow...I am feeling a little deflated this morning. I guess I have hit the infamous stall or plateau. Even though I have increased my recumbent bike rides and walking, I have gained 4 pounds this week. I am getting in a minimum of 70 grams of protein each day and a minimum of 48oz of water in daily. I know this is normal at some stage but just a bummer after putting in so much hard work. That's ok, time to push thru it and get past 50 miles and things will turn around. Have a great day everyone.
  3. 2.45 miles in the books today. Total stands at 35.9 so far. My goal is to break 50 by end of the weekend. Time to push!
  4. Well, I didn't ride this morning as planned...I was upset with myself. I walked 2.67 miles today and just finished riding the recumbent bike 3.78 miles. That puts me at 33.5 miles towards the 100 miles. Keep it up everyone! Great job!
  5. I would say it counts for something...lol...just not sure how you would log it.
  6. Good with me. Keep it up!
  7. 1 mile is better than none. Great job!
  8. 3.85 miles today. That puts me at 25 miles so. I love my Fitbit Flex. Tomorrow I go back to riding in the morning as well. It is time to push it!
  9. Bean is gonna start showing pictures of himself running while wearing sponsor T-shirts and drinking their products and eating their protein bars...lol
  10. I got some New Balance Minimus today. Can't wait for tonights walk! I can't wear those finger shoes...hell they freak me out just looking at them...lol
  11. I gotta be honest. I didn't walk or ride yesterday. I had so much going on and was exhausted by the end of the day. BUT...I plan on making it up today. Have a great day everyone!
  12. Hello everyone, I picked up a fitbit flex today. Does anyone else use this? I am excited to give it a try.
  13. Well, I had a good day today. Felt great all day. I even mowed the yard this morning for the first time since surgery. It was a piece of cake. I used Map My Walk while mowing. I walked .51 miles while mowing the front yard. I didn't use it on the back yard...to small. Funny thing is, the diagram on Map My Walk looks like I was drunk and walking in circles. Then while watching the Saints beat up on the Falcons, I rode the recumbent bike for 3.16 miles in 12:47 averaging 14.8mph. I have been building up my pace a little. Then this evening I got board and decided to go for another ride, so off to the garage I went. I rode 3.0 miles in 11:41 averaging 15.4mph. So, that puts me at 6.67 miles for the day and a total of 23.2 miles for the challenge.
  14. Happy Birthday and great job! Looking great!
  15. Ok...I did about a mile today test riding bikes and 2 miles on my recumbent bike tonight so that's 3 miles today which puts me at 16.5 for the week. I will be mowing tomorrow so lets see what I get with that on Map My Walk.
  16. I won't hold that against you...lol Arkansas is my 2nd favorite I guess. I have family in Texarkana.
  17. I took it kinda easy today. Went and ran some errands and visited my brother-in-law in the hospital. Nothing serious, he is all good now. I may jump on the bike later while watching the LSU game. I also went and test rode some bikes today, man they have gotten pricey! I have settled on a Trek Marlin 29er. I test rode 3 bikes for about 1 mile total so I will claim 1 mile towards the challenge...lol I have a question, I use a push mower to mow my yard. Can I count the step distance I gain mowing towards the challenge? If not it is ok, I just wanted to verify. Thanks and happy exercising everyone!
  18. Well, been a weird day today but I was able to get a recumbent bike ride for 2.6 miles in this morning before work. I also got a 1.2 mile treadmill walk in after work. That's 3.8 miles today and a total so far of 13.5 miles. All I can say is...I can't wait for cooler weather so I can walk more outside.
  19. LOL...I was wondering the same thing. Looks like he is taking care of business.
  20. I am also on my 2nd day of soft foods. I can eat about 2 medium scrambled eggs with a little salsa on them and just start feeling full about my last bite or so. Everyone is different and it depends on how big their Dr made their pouch. I was told to expect anywhere between 4 to 8 ounces. The key is exactly what you did, when you start feeling full...STOP! I pushed it a little to much last night and hated it. I felt extremely full. I never threw up like some people say they do but once or twice I wanted to to relieve the pressure. I went for a short walk and that helped...2 hours later I hit the exercise bike for a couple miles to see how I would feel and felt fine. I now know for sure what being that full feels like and will definately not push it again. When I first feel full...I will stop for sure.
  21. Thanks. I am definitely motivated by everyone here. As we all know, we didn't have this surgery and change our lifestyles just to go back to being a couch potato. I enjoy seeing everyones miles posted. As a matter of fact yesterday when I posted my total for the month of 9.7 miles so far, I was like really? 3/10's of a mile? That's all I need for double digits? I almost went back out to the garage for another small ride...lol If I can motivate, I am happy to but everyone her definitely motivates me. As a matter of fact...time to go ride before I shower for work. Have a great day everyone!
  22. Wow...been a long day today but I managed to work in a 1 mile walk at work in the warehouse at lunch and just rode 2.15 miles on the recumbent bike in the garage. That is 3.15 miles today which puts me at 9.7 miles so far this week and the challenge. I am gonna step it up tomorrow, I have decided to start riding a couple miles each morning before work, walk my laps at work at lunch and then either walk or ride in the evening. It was almost 100 degrees today, I can't wait for cooler temps so I can enjoy walking the track or around the blocks again.
  23. Just rode the recumbent bike 3.11 miles in 13 minutes averaging 14mph. That puts my total at 6.6 miles. I should break double digits tomorrow. My lower incisions started aching a little after staple removal today but feeling GREAT!!
