I think I will be fine just nervous, I dont want to throw up anymore.. ive wasted enough of my life doing that.. my husband is being supportive either way... im definately doing it.. im readt to feel better and have energy feel confident about myself.. I couldnt imagine going shopping for clothes at a normal store..
  3. that is another thing, I have never had a catheter, which i heard those kind of suck too. I am getting so nervous, I just fear that I might be making a mistake, my Dad keeps freaking my out saying they are taking out 3/4 of your stomach and you will never get it back, never, and what if you can't ever eat anything without throwing up.. So lets put out that question, does anyone have any feedback on vomitting after eating or drinking. Please let me know. Thanks!
  4. Guys, thank you so much.. I always get helpful tips and such a quick response for my questions. It's almost as good as my doctor, for real.. LOL.. ok, so pillow check, what about the hospital stay what is the average?
  5. I have Blue Cross Blue Shields Federal PPO Standard, I have the lapband, so I am getting a revision from Band to Sleeve. I was denied on my first letter, but they request for me to do a 3 month program with my PCP, 1 nutionist visit, 1 physc. eval.. I was approved after resubmittal of paper work with all of the clearance from PCP, nutrionist and physc. My surgery is scheduled on 28 May. So I hope this helps, but you can do an appeal. Are you going for your first weight loss surgery?
  6. Good morning All, it is a beautiful day here in Oklahoma with a high of 80.. a few questions, hoping you guys can help (no doubt that you can't) ).... So, I was reading somewhere on here that the girl had to have a tube going into there stomach, to drain fluids.. ok, that scares me so much.. do they put that in when you are under anthesia? And if so, when do they take it out? This girl was advising that was the worse part, the removal and cleaning the incision.. Please let me know, what was your experience, what was the worst part after waking up? Also, I am having surgery in Dallas, Texas and I reside in Oklahoma City, which is approximately 4 hours away, any recommendation on my trip home, should I stay in a hotel an extra day after being discharged? What is the average stay in the hospital, 1 or 2 days? Thanks!
  7. I figured it out. Thanks for your help and god bless you in your journey..
  8. Lisa, how do you get the chart thing at the bottom of your post, like you current weight goal weight ?
  9. Lisa, when is your surgery scheduled, mine is scheduled 28 May.. I am so excited, especially since the insurance is paying.. LOL
  10. thanks.. good luck to you to. Bunnydee.... Also, are you allowed to drink alcohol after everything is healed?
  11. that is exactly right.. My parents keep saying well the Band didn't work what makes you think that the Sleeve will and it is so much more invasive.. I don't have a logically response, because i get so frustrated with them. I want the Sleeve, I want to feel better, I want to look better, and I want to be alive in 20 years, to see my daughter grow. I don't know what to do, because it is so scary thinking that I might have to walk in the this alone, and with disapproval from my family. I need good feedback for them, that makes logically sense. Please help!!
  12. Good morning all, ok so my family is freaking out saying that the Sleeve hasn't been around long enough for the long term side effects to be layed out. I didn't really get the opportunity to ask my surgeon the long term side effects or leakage indications. Can someone help.. has anyone out there had any issues with the Sleeve, I want some feedback to give my parents and Husband positive and negative.. What has you experience been with the Sleeve, would you do it again, and please be honest.. good and bad... Thanks!
  13. Really, what does your doctor say about it, and who was your doctor?
  14. Really, what does your doctor say about it, and who was your doctor?
  15. Were you hungry, after surgery until you went to puree foods?
  16. Ok... so protein, protein, protein.. for the days following surgery, how did you eat, shakes? Were you allowed to drink?
  17. I am so ready to get the band out, I have no fluids in and I still throw up at times, it's ridiculous. So super excited, 28 May can't come soon enough, Has anyone had any trouble loosing their hair?
  18. Very, very true.. When I had my Lap Band, the gas was horrific.. I thought I was having something wrong with my band.. Thank you!
  19. I know I am making the right decision for me as well.... just nervous, he just wants me happy. So you are in Dallas. I live in Oklahoma City and having to travel to Dallas, because the doctors are so strick about everything and it would be six months to even consider the sleeve. Well I am excited for you, April 30th.. whoop whoop.. that is so exciting.. Dr. Kim seems to be so busy, so I am going with his partner Dr. Holden at Baylor University.. she did my EDG, I just consulted with Dr. Kim and I was comfortable with him. But God will be with me.. Thanks for your comments..
  20. Thank you, my Husband isn't trying to be negative I think, just worried.. He is a guy that can eat anything any not gain any weight.. it sucks.. I am doing it, I am so excited.. thank you for your words of guidance..
  21. Thank you so much!! Do you feel like the Sleeve was succesful?
  22. I wish I would have got the Sleeve first, but I didn't know it even existed, I just found out about it in November... Actually I just got off of the phone with the surgery scheduler, I am scheduled for surgery 28 May 2013. I am so super excited to start my journey and get this process started so I can get on with a better life. I just wonder if the side effects are different from Band to Sleeve than just directly to Sleeve.
