Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
Trader Joe's is right next to the hobby store, so when we went in AGAIN TODAY for helicopter parts, I went in and got a bag of Basmati rice... they had both white and brown. The brown was actually 10 calories more per serving than the white. I bought white.

Felt a little sick to my stomach earlier. Mostly the stupid headache is back and I just don't feel good. Skipped choir practice and rode in to the hobby store with Earl this afternoon - more helicopter parts!! Do you have any idea how much this helicopter has cost now, after the initial cost???!! Why was I eating the fish???? Hmmmmmm..... #1... because I like it, #2..... maybe because our parents grew up during the depression and brainwashed us that you never WASTE anything!?? or... #3... just plain stupid! It was there, I was hungry, it just needed to be heated up. I ate it! Pretty dumb, huh?!

Yeah... that was it... Basmati! I'll have to get some. It was good. Karri got my sleep! That's not fair!! LOL Read until 12:30 a.m., reflux for an hour after that... and it went away so suddenly it was weird. It was like all of a sudden everything went down and I was fine! Like pulling the plug in the drain! But then I couldn't get to sleep for at least another hour. So I slept until 7:30 a.m., about 1/2 hr longer than ususal. Decided to buy some shredded wheat yesterday.. so had 1/2 cup w/skim milk for BF this morning. It only stayed down about 15 minutes! Don't know why. And it came up so suddenly, projectile... that I couldn't get to the toilet fast enough! Cleaned that up, and then the rest came up. So then I was starving for lunch by the time I got back from the pool (yes, I went anyway) ... had the other piece of my fish from the other night and a couple of those little cocktail meatballs. Now it feels like that wants to come up! Maybe I still have the flu. Headache is back again, too! Think I wll skip choir practice.

Yeah, you need to come down here. It's COLD in FL and we're having the best winter since we've been coming down here, I think. See... weatherman just said.. warmest weather here in the whole continental US! Temps hit 80 in most areas of So CA.. We were at least 75. NO.. Food Cop doesn't scare me! I just had a busy day. We went shopping after water aerobics. Michaels, Trader Joe's, Starbucks, bank, Walmart, back to the bank (!), then Costco! Oh, yeah... and the hobby store to pick up all the parts for the two broken airplanes!! Then we had a glass of wine, a little cheese, watched some Judge Judy and had some grilled steak. Tilapia never go finished yesterday. In fact when I posted that I was half done and having trouble... I quit. I was eating so slow that Earl was finished with his dinner before I took my first bite! Then he kept trying to take my plate away because I was eating slow. After a while, I just let him take it because I was obviously not getting anything else down. Tonight... filet.... somewhere between 3 and 4 oz. I ate it all... but VERY slowly. Had a few peas with it, and sauteed mushrooms and onions. BF was a nature valley granola bar... 190 cal. Lunch... snacks at Costco... taste of Healthy Choice chicken noodle soup, small piece of a chicken burrito, little piece of cheese, 1 cracker w/dab of cream cheese and sm piece of smoked salmon and 2 bites of yogurt. I think that was it. I guess there was chicken sausage there somewhere, but I missed it. Oh.. I had a couple of bites of curry chicken at TJ's. It was pretty tasty. I might try making that. They were serving it over rice... that kind of rice that starst with a "b" that I can't think of right now. Down 2 lb at TOPS today. I'm getting so annoyed with them I don't think I'm going to let them elect me leader again. I had a frustration last week when I showed up with all my stuff and was told, "Oh, we decided we'd just have a weigh in this morning"... no meeting because it was New Years Eve. Excuse me?? Our meeting is at 8 a.m.!! And if they were going to decide that (while I was out of town Christmas week) someone should've sent me an email or called me on the phone to let me know! So this week... I get there a little before 8 am. to get weighed. We have a basket we put fruint and healthy snacks in... everyone is uppsoed to contribute something and then the best loser of the week gets to take it home. So I go to put something in the fruit basket and it's empty! So I said, "didn't anyone else bringh anything for he basket today???" Weight Recorder says... "Oh, I already gave it to Betty. She lost 3 lb and I didn't figure anyone was going to beat her>" Betty had already left. The fruit basket is supposed to be awarded during the meeting. You don't give it to someone who is "probably" going to be the best loser before the meeting even starts! And it's not supposed to go to someone who isn't even staying for the meeting! I was sort of ticked off but kept my mouth shut. But, I'm abut ready to be done. All summer when I was gone I kept asking them to email me copies of the minutes and they never communicated anything! Okay, enough about that!! It's killing me not to have any Papaya when I have problems like I had last night with the tilapia. But if it's here... once I start, I just keep popping them in like M & Ms! So... no more! Cut back on my wine. Now am addicted to Challenge Sudoku on FB! HELP ME!! It's time for bed.

Ha ha.... you aren't the last to post, Eva! LOL I'm still up and just getting around to LBT... too much FB... Challenge Sudoku has me hooked at the moment! TOPS weigh in this morning.. down 2 lb. Hopefully back on track! Trouble with dinner last night... tilapia. Don't know why I always have trouble with it. Couldn't finish small filet and some spinach. Had steak tonight... filet mignon.. small one. Had to eat it very slowly, but was able to finish it, mushrooms, onions and a few peas.

I didn't realize there were so many here who hadn't yet met the FOOD COP!!??!! Watch out!! But she's right about the pancakes... I mean PANCAKE!! It was one tiny pancake!! And she's right about the wine! First time we've been out to a New Years Eve party in a very long time.... probably 20-25 years maybe!! I didn't over do the food, but I definitely had too much wine. I was very bad. And my DH is not letting me forget either! :smile2::biggrin::thumbup::biggrin::biggrin: I will send out some more Sudoku invites!

I agree!! Heck, I just had one tiny pancake, there was no butter to put on it, used a little syrup, had two small sausage links, the kind of dry ones without any casing, and a little bit of scrambled eggs. I didn't even get any catsup for my eggs. I didn't go until 8:30 a.m. and between them running out of food, and being done at 9 a.m., I had to beg for a plastic fork, the OJ was all put away, even the coffee was put away. Good thing I brought my own!!

Hmmm... you are presenting difficult questions! See... it costs MOST people $4 if you buy your ticket ahead, $5 at the door.... BUT, my DH is part of the team that prepares the food, so I eat for free! My "free will offering" is his labor, and he's not at the RV to get my coffee and fix my omelet!! He is the guy who mixes the pancake batter, and I've heard him get compliments on how he gets it just the perfect consistency! He's worried about losing his job because we'll be gone next month on the 1st Wed. (cruise). What's kind of funny is that the old guy who organizes the whole thing (Cecil of "Cecil's Breakfast) doesn't make a list when he does the shopping. So every month they seem to run out of something. Last month it was eggs. He didn't buy as many as he thought he did! You could probably teach him a thing or two! This month way more people showed up than he anticipated. CECIL... HELLO.... it's JANUARY!! The SNOWBIRDS have showed up in full force! So DH says they were running to everyone's homes gathering up more pancake mix, more sausages, etc. By the time I got there, there were just a few pancakes in the warmer and all the pancake mix they could beg, borrow and steal was GONE. The eggs were gone, the sausages, like I said, were also borrowed, and the butter was gone! Oh, my gosh, Girl!! YES it is definitely NORMAL!! In fact, up 2 lb is WONDERFUL!! They load you up with IV fluids! And then there is the swelling! If you're only up 2 lb that's GREAT!!! In fact, one week after my knee replacement surgery, I think I was up 12 lb!! And I hadn't been eating much of anything. But within a few weeks, it was all gone and more! So, don't worry about it. Do what you're supposed to do and try to stay off the scale! Yeah, I was surprised about one of the twins going home, too, on Biggest Loser last night. And disappointed. So, Lori, are you intersted in playing some Challenge Sudoku on FB??? Anyone else??? I need more players! I can't get anyone to play with me! SO I keep starting games with DH and then I get on his account and try to beat myself!! How sick is that!! LOL

Very pretty dress! Apples says you are tall... you'll look terrific in that! Lovely! We'll be waiting anxiously to see pictures! Maybe you can do some sort of online version of a shower, too. Hmmmm... our DIL had the guys wear grey tuxes with pink ties and cumberbunds! I'm sure the guys won't wear pink shoes, but you might get them to wear pink ties! I was trying to think of "Good 'N Plenty" when you said pink, black & white candy! I remember them, but it's probably been 40 or 50 years since I've had some! HAHAHAHA!! GOOD IDEA!! She's being the "FOOD COP" again and got on my case about going to pancake breakfast this morning! LOL! PUnish her! HAHA! You are too quick for me! I googled it, too, and found the answer. You guys.... I was hoping she'd get discouraged and go back to Sudoku.... Lori... I'm going to send you an invitation for Challenge Sudoku on FB. It's fun, but addicting! I wanted to go to DHS today and just browse around. DS #2... when I talked to him the other day, asked if I could send him some clothes. Seems he lost everything he had moving from place to place. This is an old story. Has happened many times in the past. The reason I didn't give him his birth certificate until he was about 30. Be interesting to know if he staill has it. Anyways, I was going to look for some thrift stores to find him some clothes. It's been very cold in OK the past two weeks! Sounds like he needs everything. DH is resisting. We just sent him some money again. He says let him use that to buy clothes. Yeah, but I can find good stuff in a thrift store and I'm sure DS wouldn't hear of shopping for himself in a place like that. He's all about appearances and he lives in a small town in.

Too late... I had one very small pancake... guys know me and won't try to push any more on me. And they were out of butter by the time I got there! I did have a little syrup, but not much. I got two sausage links and ate a little bit of scrambled eggs. But it appears that we have skipped lunch. Apparently Earl is planning to weigh in tomorrow! He's cutting us a few small cubes of cheese now! I've heard Dr. Kuri is a good one, too. Lots of folks from Seattle area have gone to him... they even have their own support groups in the Seattle area. I think he has 18-20 yrs experience. He is in Tijuana. Both Mexicali and Tijuana are fairly close to Janet & I... like maybe 2 - 2 1/2 hrs. I'm feeling pretty good today. I think the crud is really gone. I didn't have to work in the activities office today. It was closed because of a burglary during the night! Can you believe that?!! This is a Christian resort, and mostly old people. I've heard a rumor that someone in the mobile home section has a son who is basically a career criminal. He's been suspected in a lot of the thefts that have occurred over the past few years. Last year someone ripped the laundry card machine off the wall and took all the cash. Last night they ransacked the activities office, took anything of value including a bank zipper bag that was in the desk drawer. I know when I worked in there last week there was probably $500 in cash in there. I've often wondered why it wasn't locked up, or deposited once a week or something. There's always lots of cash in there and that is NOT a good idea. But the office was closed because the sheriff was there to take fingerprints and the whole place had to be cleaned up.

Purses... a great idea! I buy a lot of things on eBay, DIL does too. And I've sold a lot of things on eBay. Might work. Feeling a little better this morning. I should be getting ready for water aerobics NOW! Earl is up making pancakes, and I can get free breakfast if I go up, but not motivated! Once a month "Cecil's Breakfast"! Usually have a little scrambled eggs, sm pancake a couple of sausage links and some coffee. Back of my neck is still achy, but no headache yet this morning! Volunteer in activities this afternoon, but that's just sitting there listening to a book on my iTouch and hopefully finishing my beading project from a couple of weeks ago!

Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
Made it to pool/hot tub, but couldn't do water aerobics.. Just no energy, body aches, etc. Sick to my stomach. But, I went to beading class anyway. Made a really pretty bracelet. Pretty easy one, too, so I'm going to make some more in different colors. Face feels really hot and I thought I had a fever, but thermometer says no. Just feel really yucky. Beautiful day today! Sorry so many are suffering the freezing cold weather! Family in Buffalo, too, and lots of snow there. Earl took his plane out in the desert again. It got away from him and ended up stuck high in a tree, too high for a ladder! So I heard him banging around in the storage compartment in the back of the RV. Next thing I know, I see him walking up the street with his fishing pole!! Out to the desert with his fishing pole!! He got the plane back down and then spent about 1/2 hr fixing it. Don't know if it will fly again or not. He broke the tail section off AGAIN!! The neighbors are getting a good laugh out of the fishing pole caper!! He's out there yucking it up with them right now!

Feeling a lot better this morning. Guess I'll be off to the pool in a little while.... 8:55 a.m. start. Beading this afternoon. Earl will bring the laundry up while I'm playing! My email links aren't working today. Don't know what changed overnight and can't find an option to enable links again! UGH!

Just a short job, but will give him some money... 1/19, in Houston. He decided NOT to go to Spokane so was glad to hear that. And he dropped the girlfriend... boss told me she was a scumbag druggie and he told Steve either drop the girl or I don't want to see you again! Headache is back and now stomach cramps! This is not good!

Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
I listened to a Kathy Reichs book on CD and the narration was pretty good. This one I'm listening to now, Tortilla Curtain.. is EXCELLENT. Very well done. Those are the only two I have to compare. I have another... Nanny Diaries, that I haven't uploaded to my computer yet, so not yet on my ipod, but it's narrated by Julia Roberts, so I"m assuming that one will be well done, too. DS #2 has called several more times for money since I last mentioned it. So this weekend I decided to try to contact his boss. That was after his loony (estranged) wife that he hasn't seen in about 10 years called me! She expressed "concern" that Steve wanted to come up to Spokane to spend some time. HE told me that SHE invited him to come up and she was going to buy him a ticket! The family "compound" is like a commune and they're raising/selling "medical" mj now and we were sick to hear that he was seriously considering going back up there. We were afraid he'd stay and abandon his job. Even though they don't have work now, they have contracts coming up and it's a really good job and the longest he's ever worked anywhere, and the most money he's ever made! So, we wanted to hear from the boss what his take on the situation was because he's always been honest with us. SO... Steve is NOT sleeping under a bridge or in a tent like he told us. I guess he spent one night in a tent. But he has a roof over his head and food in his belly right now. We did decide to send another $100... to his boss, though, for him to dole it out as he sees fit. Steve would have it all gone in a day!

I went to the library website and the book I am interested in next is available in MP3 format, but I don't see any way you can download it. I should call them or email a question. I know you can download them from other libraries online, but I don't see that option yet. I bought one from iTunes last week and synched it to my new iTouch. I was having trouble keeping the ear buds in my ears. Then when we were at our son's, grandkids and DIL told me to buy "skull candy" earphones. SO I did. They came with 3 different sizes of ear things. But none of them will stay in. My ears seem to be too small. So now I"m going to try my Blackberry ear buds. They are actually bigger than the others, but they stay in.. just can't get them in as far as the others. WE'll see how that goes!

May try to get back on my Wii. The more you talk about it the more I want to start using it again. Use it at home a lot, but in the RV there's just not much room, and the TV screen is so much smaller! Reading a Nora Roberts book... Blue Smoke. I don't think I've ever read one of her books before... very good. Also have an audio book... listened in the car coming home last week, and when I volunteer in the activities office Wed. afternoon. Tortilla Curtain... it's a pretty good story, too. OH... and today I went and got a Riverside County Library card so I can download audio books! Feeling MUCH better tonight. Decided to go to water aerobics this morning even though I still felt yucky... bad headache up the back of my neck. Almost quit after first 15 minutes, but kept on going. Then decided I'd quit at the halfway point. Then decided... oh, what the heck.. may as well just stay until it's over. So I did.. Aggravated the headache a little, but relaxing in the hot tub for 1/2 hr helped a lot. Then went to Red Hat lunch. Still had headache when I got home, but not bad. It did feel Great when I sat down on the couch and put up my feet for the first time since this morning. Didn't realize how tired I was. Then a couple of Ibuprofen and the headache finally went away!! Yippee!! Still feel kind of worn out, but so much better than yesterday and this morning!! BEAUTIFUL sunset out my window right now!! Should go out and take a picture!!

starting BMI over 50? come on in!
Well, my doc told me 1/2 c 6X a day... but to me that is not realistic. I want to eat like normal people.... 3 meals a day. So I probably eat 1 - 1 1/2 c per meal... at least at lunch and dinner. Breakfast is usually a very small eggbeaters omelet. But I agree with you... if we have to deny ourselves things that we enjoy FOREVER... this won't work for us. I have treats... but then I will cut calories somewhere else that day, or ramp up my exercise a little. My weight loss has been slow but steady and that's okay with me.

Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
Think I might have the flu! Headache all day, tired and achy all over and just lost my dinner. Didn't eat much... a couple of little meatballs, less than 1/4 cup mac & cheese. But it wouldn't stay down. Just feel lousy!

Yeah... annoying, isn't it!? Last year had to borrow a machine to hem some pants and will have to borrow the neighbor's again to get these pants done before they're all too big! Love the quilt pictures... the other one, not so much! Maybe you should use it as your FB profile photo. It might stop some spam and nuisance mail!! "Wanda Witch"!! LOL

Janet.... I think AMC starts giving the discount at 55! So that's not so bad, is it??? Heck, AARP enrolls you at age 50! Yeah, my family in Buffalo is getting it. They showed the snow in Orchard Park on the Today show this morning.. THat's where one of my sisters lives. Some of them complain about the snow and cold, others say bring it on! The younger ones are saying that, pretty much! I hope my mother is staying in today! The other day when it was bitter cold and miserable, they went out to lunch anyway (a daily thing with them) and the excuse was they didn't have anything to cook! I hate hemming pants too! And at 5 ft nothing, they ALL have to be hemmed. That's why I look for capris or cropped!! LOL Then they're the right length. I took 5 prs to DIL's with me. Sometimes she hems pants for me. Earl didn't bring my sewing machine again this winter! But DIL's sewing machine was buried in quilt stuff, and mattress Earl slept on was on the floor in front of it, so I brought them back home unhemmed. I did try them on, though, so Kellie could confirm I had the length right. UGH! When our youngest daughter got married 21 yrs ago, she wanted to wear my wedding dress. But the underlayer had yellowed. So I took it completely apart, bought new fabric and put it all back together again. I must have been out of my mind!
