  1. YEP! It's definitely a knee issue! I had my left replaced the end of August, and the right one needs it, too. Had a partial on the right 5-6-7 yrs ago, but dr. says the hardware is loosening and collapsing because of the weight loss! Oh, well! I guess that's an okay problem. Doesn't bother me much. Hips giving me some grief since I'm walking more now! :bored:I am getting much better at the tight rope walking. The tilt table is not too strenuous. Some of the new Wii Fit Plus things are really fun. But there's one of them that requires that you jump too... you're running down a dock dodging swinging balls... like wrecking balls, but then after you make it through a couple of levels you have to jump.. and that's where I always end up in the ocean! HAHA!
  2. One thing you have to do is that when you want to call someone, you have to click on "video call" or you won't get the web cam AND the audio.
  3. Hi, Everyone! Hey, it's Janet's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JANET!!:bored: We are leaving on a cruise in the morning... Mexican Riviera! Talk to y'all when we get back next Saturday!
  4. Yep... definitely not a realistic plan! 1/4 cup 3X a day and NO Snacks??? Gimmee a break!!! My doctor said 1/2 cup 6X a day. I'm still supposed to be eating 1/2 cup 6X a day! I eat more than that, but 3X a day... like a normal person! In the afternon I usually have maybe 1 oz of cheese for my snack, and at night I have a 60 calorie pudding. When did you say your surgery was?? And have you had any fills yet?? I do think you need to stay under 1200 if possible. Of course, I don't know details like your height, weight, activity level. But for myself, I MUST exercise and I MUST stay below 1200 calories in order to lose.
  5. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHICK!!!:bored: ENJOY YOUR DAY!!! Forgot it was "furlough Friday"!! Was planning to drop a little something at your office!! HAHA!! Not a good plan if you're not there!!! Gone most of the day to 29 Palms Marine base... pick up Rx refills... TOO MANY pills! I think I"m still taking 10 Rx drugs plus vitamins!! 2 BP, 1 diuretic, 1 cholesterol, 1 thyroid, 1 art. hormone, 1 bladder, 1 antidepressant. Okay... either I counted wrong or I'm forgetting two! Pain in the butt! Also went to PX & commissary. Earl was mad when we left and I got lectured again about too many clothes and no place to put them because I bought a sweatshirt.. did I say this already?? on sale for $6.97 and pretty bright pink... and a turquoise, fleece, zip up the front vest, also on sale, $12.97. I just turn off my hearing aid. (Wish I had one so I could really do that!! HAHA) Then it was.... do you realize we spent $250 today!! I don't think so!! Some of it was groceries anyway!! So I said... do you realize we probably saved at least $1000 by coming over here to get 3 months worth of Rx for FREE!!??? Today will be busy... water aerobics, hot tub, shower, friends from OK coming over here to our restaurant for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Then to Costco to fill up the gas tank for the drive to L.A. cruise terminal in the morning. And have to pack today, too. Stayed up until after midnight finishing up necklace I want to take on the cruise, and matching earrings.
  6. LOL!! I've had my Wii for over a year and a half and I still end up a snowball every time I try that ski jump! I can do the downhill slalom, though... have it on advanced and I think I"m under a minute now. I guess my very favorite is the tilt table. Do that on advanced, too, and I LOVE the new Wii Fit Plus, though I haven't used it too much lately. It's a little tougher when we're living in our RV in the winter... much smaller TV screen and crowded... not a lot of room to move. I'd break something if I did baseball of golf!! HAHA! Doesn't bother me not to eat bread, but I sure miss potatoes!! HAHA! I LOVE potatoes... any way you fix them! Very seldom eat them, though, or rice, pasta, or bread. Once in a while. Would I do it again??? IN A HEARTBEAT!! BP down, Rx cut, knee replacement and now walking more, and feeling good about myself. No more seat belt extender when I fly! Car even feels too big! HAHA! Have to slide the car seat all the way up to drive. Don't know how I ever reached the pedals when my stomach was too big to slide the seat up. And I LOVE not having to shop in the PLUS sizes! WELCOME! You're on the road to better help and we're here to support you any way we can!
  7. Quiet here today! What's up with that??? Yes, did persuade Earl that two small suitcases would not be enough. So I borrowed one from a neighbor. AND today I bought him a very small toiletry bag as his is humongous and takes up 1/4 of one of the suitcases. This one is already packed with travel size of everything he should need. I took out the comb!:bored: He definitely doesn't need that. I guess the shampoo isn't necessary either! LOL! Except that it says it is shampoo AND body soap. So maybe he'll use it but he usualy likes a BAR of soap. Need a small diameter curling iron but haven't found one yet. Got in trouble at the Marine base (went to pick up Rx refills) for buying a new wallet, sweatshirt (pretty bright pink one on sale for $6.97!) and a turquoise fleece vest.. also on sale. I promised to get rid of some clothes. I probably have a big bag of stuff that's too big. TOPS weigh in today... down a pound. Left for Marine base right after meeting, so no water aerobics today.
  8. Good afternoon! Yeah, we're going to miss Apples while she's offline! Safe travels, Apples, and to the rest of you as you make your way to FL in a few weeks. Wish I was coming, too! Went to a Tea yesterday.. ground rules were you had to wear a hat and bring canned goods/non-perishables for one of the local food banks. So... here's a couple of pictures! DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!! HAHAHA! LITE whipped cream... staged photo for the amusement of my friends! Especially my LBT friends! Well, and maybe just a little bit to rattle Janet's cage! LOL!
  9. Good Morning! Rained all night but stopped about 2 hrs ago and the sun is trying to come out. I think it's going to be a beautiful day. Yeah... I had fun yesterday. There were 46 women who showed up at that tea... It was a food drive fund raiser, so ground rules were: you had to bring canned goods or non-perishables for the food drive, and you had to wear a hat. I was going to wear my new "Red Hat"... the red "hair hat" I found in Quartzsite. I've been trying to change my profile picture to that one but no success yet. Anyway, at the last minute I decided to wear a different red hat. Mostly changed my mind because while I was up at beading working on my necklace, I went in to visit with the hairdresser... Oh, I already told that story. Anyway, she styled it so cute I didn't want to cover it all up with a "hair hat". Food was pretty good yesterday. Too bad I screwed up by having all those adult beverage calories after the tea with my neighbor ladies! And my tilappia stayed down without a problem last night!! First time in a long time that I didn't have trouble with it!
  10. You're not going to get attached to the new puppy!? Yeah, right!!! LOL!! I DID have a GREAT time today... my hair appt, Tea party, and our little "afterglow" party next door with the gals! We laughed, we cried, we told stories and talked about beading! One gal brought over a whole bunch of necklaces and bracelets she has made. BEAUTIFUL! And our hair dresser is going to display them for sale in the beauty shop. I want to lose about another 50 lb! Not making much progress at the moment. So if I skip the wine and just have Crystal Lite can I put a little Tequila in it??? HAHAHAHA!! I AM BAD!! Earl did that today and I tried a little... quite good! Leave for the cruise on Saturday. Norwegian, cruise termnial in L.A.... well, San Pedro, I guess. Have GPS, have street address, and Earl is still freaking out about finding the right cruise terminal!! He is SO hyper! We have only TWO small suitcases with us in the RV! I want to borrow a big one from the neighbors and Earl does not seem to want to do that. NO WAY can I get enough clothes for a 7 day cruise in two small suitcases, not to mention his clothes!! Give me a BREAK!!
  11. Food not too bad today. Too bad about the wine calories. Had my little eggbeaters omelet for Breakfast, as usual. Didn't finish it all. Had 1 slice of turkey bacon with that. Kashi granola bar for lunch. Then that strawberry shortcake (w/angel food cake) at the "Tea Party". But then there was the wine. Now having a small tilappia fillet for dinner, with some mixed veggies.
  12. Becky... WELCOME!!! If you subscribe to this thread by clicking under that option above... I think it says "thread tools", then you will get updates to this thread including any responses to your posts.
  13. I am confessing that I sort of misbehaved today. I did my usual morning routine, and then I went to beading for a little while to work on the necklace I was hoping to take on the cruise this weekend...mmmmmm, that's probably not going to happen. But we meet in the room right next to the beauty shop, so I went in to say "HI" to Pat, the beautician, who is a friend of mine. Asked her if hse thought I needed a trim before we go on the cruise. Of course she said "yes", so as soon as she finished the lady she was working on, she gave me a hair cut, and style. Looks cute! Wish I could fix it like that!!! So... little bead work done. Went to a "food drive" TEA at 1 pm, had to bring canned goods and wear a hat. Had a blast there.... 46 women showed up. food consisted of angel food cake...small slices, straweberries and Cool Whip. I posed for a photo especially for you! BUT.... I AGAIN forgot my jug of crystal lite... left it at beading class. So, hair dresser brought it to Earl and then went next door. So when I got back from the "tea party" I went next door to thank her for bringing my crystal lite jug home to me! And there were several neighbor ladies having a glass of wine. Two bottles of wine and a couple of hours later.... I came back home! I was SO BAD!! And Earl was no help... he kept bringing us bowls of pretzels, chips, crackers, onion dip!! I didn't indulge in very much of that, but I did have too much wine. This has got to stop!! I am having TOO much fun!! But, I want you to know that the attached photo was STAGED entirely for your benefit!! AND, before I had any wine!!! BTW, that's LITE whipped cream she is shooting in to my mouth!!
  14. This is how Earl watches football! Too bad you can't hear the snoring! And.... our new space #s from Algodones And... neighbor dogs.
  15. Well, probably my most exciting find was ceramic numbers w/iron frame for our RV site. Since we did the cement, I'd been looking for fancy numbers to put our site # on out front since Earl & the neighbor put a nice post in the cement to mark our site. Couldn't find anything I liked at Lowe's or Home Depot or Walmart... looked in a bunch of different stores. So, saw a rack with ceramic tile squares/#s behind one of the booths on the street.. so asked a few questions.. they had the numbers I needed as well as the frame, so I did a little negotiating and got the whole thing... glued and all for $25. And I bought a leather over the shoulder purse, carved flowers on the front. And a few things for the grandkids. Yes, Earl was driving me nuts when we were rained in all last week! I kept busy with my beading, and other stuff I had going on! I'll let you know about he Mexican cruise when we get back. But Janet's been on that one, too. Our first time on this one. We have done Alaska 3X now!
  16. Wow! WELCOME to all the "Newbies"!! So nice to see so much activity here lately! Ask as many questions as you like... many of us here to answer!
  17. HAHAHA!! I LOVE IT!!
  18. Forgot one thing.... I bought the complete Beck Diet for Life... a year ago .... and never read it!! So since you've all been talking about the Beck books, I had DH drag it out for me this afternoon!! I have TOO many books to read. I'm listening to one audiobook on my iTouch, have a paperback I read every night before I fall asleep.. 1-2 chapters a night, and two brand new paperbacks to read by Feb.. 17 for our book club here in the RV park ... another thing I started this winter!! I wanted to stay busier this winter so I wasn't coming back to the RV after water aerobics each day and sitting around watching TV and on the laptop the whole rest of the day! So I have beading, choir, Red Hats, book club, volunteering in the activities office!! YIKES!! Have to keep it all on my Blackberry & my laptop so I get reminders as to where I'm supposed to be and when!!
  19. DESERT!! You have to come down to the desert SW!! Love it here!! Wish it was no bra Sunday for me. It's underwire day for me!! LOL Hey... it's MY desert, too, at least part time! Yeah, had to be up by 7 a.m. so I could be ready for the shower by 8 a.m. Choir sang at both services this morning so had to be there at 9 a.m. for practice. We sounded much better today, but wish I could say the same for the orchestra! Oh, well! I keep telling myself... they're OLD and they're still playing! Get over it! They don't know they're off key! You asked about PS.... I wanted to go to that bandster bash in Seattle because I knew I could talk to some plastic surgeons there. I never heard back from the chick at the Navy base, but we're going up there again Thursday to pick up Rx, so will try to check on it then. You asked me one other thing but I forgot what it was! iPhone, Blackberry, other??? Now I forgot what kind of application you were looking for! That's cuz I'm old and I forget stuff! That's one of my favorite lines! BTW, did I tell you I was born and raised in Buffalo??? Mom, sisters, etc still live there and several of DH family, too. DH was in AF, so we've lived ALL over the country.... CA, FL, CO, OK, ND, WA... I think that's all! But I do LOVE to have mountains nearby. One of the homes we owned in WA back in the 80's had a gorgeous view of Mt. Rainier out the kitchen window. I can't tell you how many hours I spent during 5 yrs in that house sitting at the kitchen table staring out the window and contemplating my navel!! LOL! Watching football, but better not tell you who I'm rooting for!! HAHAHA! Watching Jets/Colts right now... recorded.... and not happy to see NY going down! Looks like they're going to lose it! Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers were my two "Fantasy" QBs on my Fantasy team this year, so I supposed I should be rooting for the Colts, but sure would like to see the Jets go to the Super Bowl! I haven't started any new Sudoku games in a couple of days because I had about a dozen to play on Earl's account! But I think I finished the last one last night after midnight!! So I'll have to start some new ones.
  20. I don't know.... I think that bird would fit right in with Angel and Bear and the kitty!
  21. Snow pictures... more on FB
  22. So sorry about the mess at your bro's house! I know.... family, but I'd be tempted to hire someone to come in and haul it all away! I hear you on the book store issue! Even the library! What a pain! I did find a book that's one of our book club assignments for next month at costco today. I hate the way they display their books in stacks. It's too hard to scan them to find anything. Can't believe I found that book today! So I had to pay a few bucks more for one I ordered from Amazon this week. But guess what... if I'd ordered both of them from Amazon, might have been enough for free shipping. Busy day today.... I did sleep until almost 8 a.m. Only day I can sleep in is Saturday! Then we went to do our shopping... Trader Joe's, Walmart, Costco, plus I had to go to Wells Fargo and SBX! I've been having so many stomach problems... reflux, burping, hiccups... that I bought ONE bottle of Papaya and told Earl he is in charge. I have to ask him for it, so I won't be abusing it and eating it like candy!
  23. Glad you made it to your hair appt and back home without incident! I grew up in Buffalo NY, so I think I know how to drive in snow and ice, but I sure don't like it. Good thing I rarely have to worry about it! The rain stopped, at least for now, and the sky was blue and the sun came out! The mountains surrounding Palm Springs were absolutely gorgeous today... covered with fresh white snow. What a backdrop!! But we're supposed to get another storm on Tuesday. I had to chuckle at your comments about DS's girlfriends. My sister went through that with one of her three sons several times before he married! She'd get really attached and then they'd break up. The other two aren't yet married and I think both are well in to their 30's now. I'm beginning to think neither will marry. One is a recovering drug addict and I think that is causing him commitment problems. The other had OCD and sister has convinced him he should never have kids so he is leary of getting i to serious relationships. I think it's a bunch of bull and she is doing him a disservice! Her only daughter married last summer. She wants grandchildren so bad! Meredith.. was looking at some of your photos on FB a little while ago. You are certainly a stunning young lady! Love the NYC pictures! I've only been there a couple of times even though I grew up in Buffalo. But I'd love to go back. We have a dear friend, from high school, who lives there and she's been having a real struggle with lung cancer for over a year now and I'd love to go visit her. You all are quiet today!! Wish I was joining you all in FL!! Scheduled a trip to Seattle to see DDs, Dr. appts, but that weeked so I could attend a "bandster bash" in Seattle only to find out recently that it was postponed to March! Grrrr! I was after a PS consult!
  24. Friday night... must all be out partying!! We had Baked Potato night tonight but we decided not to go. We had leftover meatloaf instead. But... it was a little overdone to begin with and heated up... even dryer. So I slimed... and then just lost a lot of it. Haven't done that all week. The chili has been going down nicely. I should have smothered the meatloaf in catsup! I think the rain has stopped AGAIN!! Maybe it won't come back this time! Choir practice as annoying. All the parking spots by the door were blocked with golf carts parked in car spaces! So I had to park way around the side in a golf cart slot! Didn't mind the walk, but I knew it would be raining when I came out. And it was POURING when we were done! But I came out a side door not too far from the car so I didn't get too wet. The other thing that was annoying is that I don't like the music we're using over the next few weeks, it didn't sound good, and we're singing with the orchestra on Sunday and they sounded AWFUL! And the lady who was singing tenor with me decided to switch to alto so now I am the ONLY lady singing tenor with the men. I'm losing my incentive to continue!
  25. Airstreams are VERY nice! I figured you'd be looking at something bigger pretty fast!
