  1. yeah, it was great meeting Janet today! We had a good visit. Wonderful to meet a fellow "bandster" in person! It's so good to be back in the desert southwest! It's nice and warm, the sunsets are gorgeous and we're enjoying being back here with our RV park friends. I made my first trek to the pool/hot tub tonight and tomorrow we get back to water aerobics. I've had very little exercise since my lapband surgery, so this is going to be so helpful! I hope to see weight starting to come off a little faster! :Banane30::Banane30:
  2. Yeah, she snagged me on that Mah Jong comment, too. I used to play years ago with a group of military wives, American rules. In fact, I think they were rule books made up by a group of military wives. I loved it and had a beautiful set. I think I still have it in storage somewhere. I really enjoyed playing. Now I just play computer Mah Jong and it's not as much fun.
  3. You'll be fine!! You can still have Thanksgiving dinner, etc., just smaller portions. You can learn to be satisfied with a few bites rather than mega portions. Trust me!! Your life is going to change in a very positive way! Be excited about it, don't be scared!

  5. Had breakfast with Janet today and we had a good visit! So nice to finally meet a "Lucky # 7" Bandster!
  6. Hi, all! Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Had a very nice birthday. We went to champagne brunch with friends. I was able to eat some smoked salmon benedict... pushed the english muffin aside, a few potatoes, too much, really. And then the waiter brought a huge piece of chocolate cake with a candle in it. All six of us shared it and then three of us finished it off that night. Very rich. Teeny tiny slice was plenty. And I agree with what you all were saying about sweets... it starts a bad cycle of eating! So back to reality now. We're going to be reaching our winter destination today and back to a more regular routine, and water aerobics. Weight loss is stalled, so I hope this will make a difference. And I'm going to try to get IndioGirl's doctor to give me a fill!!
  7. THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! Had a great day, but I ate too much!! I need another fill!!
  8. :welcomeB: Hi, Tammy, "The More the Merrier" here! Welcome! I was banded the same day as you. I've had three fills but I think I need another. My last was Oct 29th and I didn't notice a lot more restriction than I already had. I definitely need to be a little tighter. I have never PB'd, slimed, nothing like that except a lot of burping after I eat! We are "Snowbirds" on our way south for the winter, so I'm hoping I can find a doctor who will do a fill for me. Otherwise, I'll be winging back home for a few days!!
  9. Will post the final numbers soon.... probably tomorrow. Need to hear from a few more. Please PM me with your final in terms of how many pounds lost, not your ending weight because I don't have a starting weight for everyone. Just tell me how much you lost for the month. Tomorrow is my last day with unlimited internet for a few days, and we'll be getting ready to "hit the road" early Monday morning, but should have time to do that some time during the day.

  12. FitDay.com is a good one.
  13. A few more suggestions for your evening cravings: rye crisp crackers, only 25 calories for a pretty good sized cracker. Sometimes I spread a little humus on top... comes in lots of different flavors, or have a thin slice of cheese with it, or maybe a little beef/turkey/ham jerky. Smoked fish... salmon, tuna, etc. is expensive, but a little bit goes a long way and it's healthy and low cal.
  14. Thanks for sharing that. Wow!! We're having oven roasted Yukons instead of mashed, so no gravy to worry about either! Everything organic, but maybe not low cal! Dinner is tomorrow because our main "cook" has to get his wife back to WA in time for work Friday morning.
  15. Good luck to you, Kathy! We will be watching for your updates. This is a great place for support and encouragement.

  17. Yeah, it's been really quiet here lately! Guess everyone is busy with the holidays... Thanksgiving week. I'm holding steady, but not really losing right now. Was able to do some water exercise this week and maybe that will help. Happy Thanksgiving, All!
  18. Good Luck to you, James. Dr. Hunter is my doctor, too. I really like him and his staff.
  19. I'm so sorry for what you went through. Really, most of the time mine is a peach. He does all the cooking, even the dishes, etc. Being a control freak, he thinks he's the only one who can do things the "right way"! So I just smile and let him! He doesn't dust and do bathrooms... YET!! Also, I tend to just VENT when I'm fed up with him, so you guys hear it all! I don't do well with keeping things to myself! And he doesn't have as much control as he thinks he has!! Like I said, if he only gives me a half glass of wine, I wait until he's not looking and go get my other half!!
  20. So sorry!! The Costco story made me smile!! After three fills, have yet to PB, but have had some samples at Costco that I shouldn't have!!

  23. But I've spent 43 years "training" him!! He's not so bad. He was having a bad day yesterday.. Had to do with a son who is always calling us when he gets in a jam and wants money. So then I figured, since he was already mad, it was a good time to fess up about the shoes and that made it worse. He's okay today!

  25. Nah, don't cancel!! Just go. You'll enjoy it. I've ordered TONS of clothes from WW.... from back when they were Lane Bryant until recently. Clothes pretty much run true to size. I get their catalogs & there's a size chart inside, so there's probably one online, too. But, true confessions, frankly I buy a lot of clothes at Wal-Mart! Everyday type stuff, especially tops. I really like Lands End and you can get them at Sears now but they don't always have a lot of the plus sizes and I need a 2X or 3X. I'm able to wear a lot of 2X now. I recently found 3-4 Lands End things ON SALE at Sears, really cheap. Just take comfy stuff and a couple of dressier things. I've been on lots of cruises and the last one, I didn't even take a dress, just nice slacks and a couple of dressy tops. It was fine, even on formal nights. There are still some who dress up in tuxedos & evening gowns, but the majority keep it somewhat simpler. Not like 10 years or so ago. So, don't go crazy buying a lot of new clothes.
