PTTD Anyone?
Hey Rebeca, I've been seeing an orthopedic surgeon that specializing in ankles at the world renowned (rolling my eyes now :-) Northwestern University. It's where I was sleeved. I would like to know what stage I am, a number has never been mentioned to me. I have specially made orthotics for both shoes and I have a brace that I lace up and Velcro on my ankle. I start physical therapy Friday. Everything that I have read about it pretty much says it only gets worse. My orthopedic says he sees this a lot in bariatric patients and that I have horrible mechanics? I really enjoyed the treadmill and going for long walks and for now at least, that's impossible. I really do appreciate your advice and feedback. Thanks, Nicky

PTTD Anyone?
Thanks LI Gemini for the video! The music was a little over the top, though :-) PTTD is Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction. Basically my arch has fallen in my left foot and my foot comes down on its side rather than the bottom of the foot. It is incredibly painful and I have had to give up the treadmill which I really enjoyed. I'm starting physical therapy on Friday, hopefully this will help. The good news is that my weight loss has continued.

PTTD Anyone?
Anyone diagnosed with PTTD? I think it really sucks! I guess it's caused by a weak tendon in your ankle and then its all down hill from there. Just wondering if anyone else is coping or maybe has success over this? It's so frustrating that I have lost all this weight and I still have physical limitations.

Yeah, my surgeon's nurse practitioner said she doesn't say this very often, but I have to start eating more. I do my protein shakes but I hit the gym everyday.- Sleeved 3.11.13

Hey Painintheglass, Thanks for your response and ideas. I have never taken an exercise class before. But one of the many great things about getting sleeved, is the ability to try new things and live a new way. I'm going to try the spinning class :-) I like you, have had both feet operated on for plantar fascitis . And I think I injured my ankle by the rolling foot thing. Thanks, Nicky- Before and After Pics
You go gurrlll!!! :-)- Injured- Need A New Workout
Hey Everyone! I was sleeved 3-11-13. I have since lost 70 pounds! :-) I've done it not only with the sleeve, but also with hard work in the gym. I guess I over did it and have injured my ankle pretty bad. I'm looking for suggestions for a new cardio workout. I know...SWIMMING(rolling my eyes). I like to listen to music while working out. I also have bad knees. I would love to hear from people who have gotten awesome results doing cardio other than the treadmill. Also, any Chicagoland people, HOLLA!!! ;+) Nicky- Bodybuilders?
Hey aroundhky, I'm a guy and I was sleeved 3.11.13. I have been doing cardio with great results. I really enjoy working out. It keeps me sane and gives me a sense of control in my life. My question is, when do you think I should start adding weights to the mix? My dietician said I should wait until I lost more weight. Your thoughts? Thanks, Nick- Protein powder?
I'm wondering when any of you started lifting weights after surgery?- Burning in Left Shoulder Blade?
It seems to be getting better the last couple of days as I have been having more regular bowel movements.- Before and After Pics
CONGRADULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU!!!- Burning in Left Shoulder Blade?
Hey Suko67, That's correct, the burning is in my left shoulder blade. I saw a doctor covering for my regular doctor and he said that it's referred pain but doesn't know whats causing it. He said if it gets too bad, to go to the ER. It's not that bad. It just feels like a hot poker stuck in there.- Burning in Left Shoulder Blade?
I am new to the whole "blogging" thing and just want to thank everyone for there replies, ideas, and advice! BEST OF LUCK TO ALL OF US!!!- Burning in Left Shoulder Blade?
