Does anyone know what pain mess are usually given? I had hydrocodone (sp?) once after oral surgery and I hated the way it made me feel. For some reason, I get really cranky and sort of hyper. Shrug.

250 round trip Dallas to San Diego with a layover in Phoenix.

My surgery is on May 7th with Dr. Lopez at Mi Doctor. I'll be staying at the Marriott.

Well, I think I'm prepared. It doesn't seem like many people have problems while traveling, so I'm not going to worry about it. I did buy some compression stockings for my flight home as a precaution. Can't hurt, right?

I'm sure that people drop off the boards after a while. The self pay, Mexico forum is sort of new, so maybe there aren't any people posting that had surgery that long ago. From my research, most people have their stomach stretch a little over time.

I'm not telling anyone except my husband and children. This seems like a very personal journey for me. I have always struggled with my weight, and I don't want to answer other people's doubts while battling my own. This is important to me so that I can live my life, not constantly worry about how heavy I am or how unhealthy I am becoming. My husband is very supportive and my kids are understanding. Unfortunately, my 13 year old daughter struggles with her weight, so she actually told me she is envious. If she is still struggling when she is older, I'll be by her side no matter what she does. If this is successful for me, it may be an option for her in the future.

Are you having surgery done by Dr. Alejandro Lopez in Tijuana? Just curious, I think I've seen you post that he is your surgeon. That is my surgeon.

My surgeon is Dr Lopez also. Those of us staying at the Marriott that first week in May will have to get together to walk in the court-yard. :-)

Can anyone tell about their experience traveling home from Mexico after having VS surgery. I will be flying and I have a three hour lay-over. Is there anything specific I need to be more comfortable?

I paid a deposit to my coordinating company of 500.00$. I did not have to pay a deposit directly to the hotel, it was included in the price of my package.

Fountain soda and yummy pastries. I can eat my weight in buttery pastries.

I'm going to Dr. Lopez and will be staying at the Marroitt. My surgery date is May 7th. I'm also traveling alone.

I will also be at the Marriott, but I have my surgery on the 7th. I'm sure we can walk around together once we are all at the Marriott.

I'm leaving Texas on May6th and heading to Tijuana for surgery with Dr. Alejandro Lopez at MiHospital. Anyone else having surgery around that time?

My surgery is scheduled for May 6th with Dr. Lopez in Mexico. My BMI is 34.4 and I want to lose about 75 pounds. I'm at 200 right now, but I know I could never get rid of the weight on my own. In the past, I have been able to drop20-25 pounds, but I always put it back on and then gain 10-15 more. I just want to live life and stop worrying about losing weight.
