  1. The 'full up to your throat' feeling is what I get Aline with the froggish croaking and gargling that someone else mentioned. You will def know when you're full. I'll be 6 weeks in a couple of days and my capacity is not much more than it was at 1 week. Just listen to your body and EAT SLOWLY! I have thrown up many a time from eating fast these weeks since surgery.
  2. I read some other articles that said that this 'study' wasn't done properly. I just bought some today to make Mac and cheese and spaghetti so I'm going to see how my stomach does with them...
  3. Has anyone tried this brand of pasta? It is supposedly 'lower carb' with only 13g digestible carbs and has a low glycemic index. I just want to know about the taste. Does it taste regular???
  4. Get some Zofran! Doc should have sent you home with some. It will help with nausea tremendously...
  5. Oh how I remember my pre op days! Making sure i had everything in order. Packing up my bag. Getting the house ready for my visitors/caretakers. It seems like a distant memory now and it was only 5 weeks ago lol!
  6. I'm in the same boat as you. I tried to swallow some NyQuil and it immediately came back up! I've just been taking the gelcaps since. I'm 5 weeks out and I can swallow them just fine.
  7. Oh yeah, surgery date 3/20/13 lol
  8. SW 349 CW: 310 I have so much more energy!!!
  9. I've been on Nexium since Day 1 post op... Capsules went down fine...
  10. After all I've been through the past 5 weeks with the pain and aches, nausea and vomiting, and constipation... Now my f*ckin throat hurts!!! I'm coming down with a cold. Seriously Life? I know it could be worse but could you terrorize someone else for a while???
  11. Lol, I'm a Sourhern belle who likes the Bulls, but I'm a HEAT fan! I live in KY on Fort Campbell, hubby is a soldier but I'm from Atl...
  12. Can u eat pickles? I'm 5 weeks out as well and I am craving them...
  13. You can live through me when I go to Miami this summer lol... My very first childless vacay (wait for it) WITH MY BEST FRIEND... I'm counting down the days until July lol!
  14. Here's my before and current... I'm 5 weeks today. Can u guys see a difference?
  15. My hubby can't keep his hands off if me... It's so high school it's adorable lol
  16. 5 weeks out today and I still get really tired after I've been moving around quite a bit. It's totally normal. Idk what my iron is but I was really anemic before surgery so it's probably low now. But I do have more energy upon waking up. I just tire easily. Hang in there!
  17. Toradol (sp?) is the nectar of the GODS isn't it?? Lol
  18. I felt like sh*t three days out lol. When I see people say they felt fine its so weird. I was still in so much pain 3 days out. And my energy level was poo!!! I wanted to go to the Rihanna concert in Atl on the 21st of this month but I didn't buy a ticket even though I would have been (and am currently) over a month out for fear that my energy would still be low. And I'm glad I made that decision. I'm doing great, going places, all that but as soon as I sit down the tired comes crashing over me. My opinion: sell those tickets and try to get as much money back as you can OR see if you can move your surgery date back a couple of weeks if its that important to you.
  19. Most docs will say no to outright laxatives until you've tried the stool softeners and Miralax. At 5 days its not a good idea to take laxatives like ex lax... Too much cramping and you're already in pain.
  20. Yeah it's just your ab muscles. They will gradually get a little better each day until one day you'll wake up and notice you're pain free. Try to move around as much as you can but don't over exert yourself. The more you move around the better it gets. Mine took a little over 3 weeks to stop hurting. Hang in there!
  21. Thank God they came out with this! Now I can help myself stay regular and eat Greek yogurt at the same time! And it actually tastes better than the Chobani and Yoplait to me! 12g of protein in 4 oz... I'm loving it!
  22. It was well over a week before I had one. Almost two weeks. Then a week later I was dealing with horrible constipation. Take 2 Colace twice a day and a capful of Miralax once a day EVERYDAY until you go! Trust me, you DO NOT want your stool to get as hard as mine did. Very painful!!!!
  23. Yes I did lol... I went to the ER last Tues and they gave me a warm soap suds enema which got the ball rolling but I finally emptied out today and it was still pretty hard :-/ But hopefully I can stay moving and hopefully it's pain free. I've just started Miralax once a day along with the Colace. Btw does anyone know how long you're supposed to take Miralax. Bottle says no longer than seven days. I'm two days in...
