Worried about Slippage or something?
It sounds like your either too tight, or eating too much/too fast. It's very important that you eat very small bites very slowly. My band can fluctuate from day to day, so things you ate yesterday might not be able to eat today. If you are eating small amounts very slowly and still getting stuck, you may need to have an unfill on your band.

Now that fall is here it is the perfect weather for walking. I really enjoy walking along the Jordan River Parkway and would love some company. Is there anyone out there that would like to join me?

any one in utah want to talk
Hello Everyone! I'd love to join you for dinner, evenings work best for me. I went to a nice support group but everyone had gastric bypass and it wasn't really helpful for me. I was banded last March so I'm coming up on my year mark and my last fill finally hit the 'sweet spot' Thank goodness! I went through Rocky Mountain and he does flouroscopy when needed.

Summertime Recipes to get in Protein
So most of my meals are heated. I am tired of them and want some fun summer recipe ideas to get me excited for the summer. Outside of cold deli meats and cheese... what is everyone else eating this summer?

Think I Need to Be Unfilled a Bit...
So what are you eating that causes you to have the problems? I've found I just can't eat some foods. After this last fill I really had to get back to basics. Make sure I was taking super tiny bites and chewing them completely. I still can't eat much in the morning when I'm the hungriest, I can usually eat more later in the day. So I guess that is a hidden bonus. I even had to start measuring out my foods as I had forgotten just how small 2 ozs really is

TMI - Embarassing questions
My tummy tells me I'm full by sending hiccups my way. It's kinda funny like a built in alarm system

Sharp pain while gardening outside today
Pain by the port side is pretty common. I went and had a massage a few weeks after my surgery and she worked on my belly area. I think the gas gets clustered up by the port which gives the side ache. I would massage my belly area very gently every day after and never had the pain again. Good luck!

March 28th!
I haven't had much of an appetite but this afternoon I finally felt up to eating. I'm on soft foods now so I tried some hard boiled eggs chopped up with a bit of mayo. Maybe about a 1/4 of a cup and couldn't finish it. I was full! So weird but glad it's there! LOL

March 28th!
Today was my first day back... full 12 hour shift.. and it did not slow down!! I have told about 5 people about my surgery, none from work. Yesterday I called my sister who I've been trying to get ahold of the last few days. Finally reached her and told her about the surgery, she kept waiting for me to say April fools! LOL she couldn't believe I had the surgery without telling anyone in the family. I still think she is waiting to see the scars before she believes me... But I feel great, even slept on my side last night! I walk all day at work .. from one wing to another wing and back again! I am such a believer in the walking! Huge huge difference

March 28th!
I went and did a half a shift at work today, it wasn't too bad. Tomorrow I attempt the 12 hour shift. They are being nice at work and letting me go at my own pace as much as possible. How is everyone else doing?

March 28th!
So how is everyone feeling now? Saturday was my worst day, this morning was rough but this afternoon is much better. I've lived on the heating pad! Finally lost all the liquid weight from the surgery plus 2 more pounds today!

Anthem Blue Cross , First Steps? Help?
First find the doctor you want to use and make sure they accept Blue Cross. They usually have an orientation you need to attend so do that while you wait. Also you will need a psych eval and a letter from a dietician. Also go to your primary doctor and get a complete medical record. I spent more time waiting for these to be done, and the insurance doesn't cover the fees so you might as well get it done while you wait. If you can bring all of this to the orientation and hand it in so they can get you scheduled for a consult with the surgeon. I wish I had done this while I was waiting for my insurance to kick in. Good luck!

Ugh! The following is a vent! I hate hate hate hate hate the girl that schedules surgeries. She has to be one of the rudest secretaries I've met. I called 5 times on Thursday with no call back, several more times on Friday and she finally calls me at 4:55PM. She then proceeds to try to convince me that we talked about this the day before, and I have no idea why she is arguing with me about not receiving the authorization from my insurance company. All I could tell her is the authorization person called said it was approve and she would be calling me Thursday to schedule. I am not able to explain another persons actions or why that person did not give her the paperwork. But the thing that drives me nuts is that she will not tell me if there are any surgery dates open in March. I don't need the exact dates a simple yes or now would suffice. I've changed jobs and not 100% sure the new insurance would cover the surgery. So all I want to know is if there is a possibility there is a date. If there is not a date then I need to get going on Cobra. But nope she would not budge. Ugh!

APPROVED - Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
I called this morning to see if the paperwork had been sent in, the office said it was sent over yesterday. I settled in for the week wait, they called back this afternoon and it was approved. My heart is beating a million beats per minute I'm so in shock! They will call on Thursday to schedule the surgery

Anyone in Utah had a Slip Repaired?
My friend was banded in another state but lived here when her's slipped. She was really sick for several weeks but the doctor got her in and fixed and she hasn't had any problems since

Anyone had the surgery on Cobra?
I recently accepted a new job, my current insurance covers the surgery and the papers were just sent in for approval. I'm covered through the end of March, however if the surgery is not done in March I'd have to sign up for Cobra. I'm wondering if anyone else has done this or if I should really push to have the surgery in March. My new company does not have insurance the covers the lap band
